The tablet version is also for free (today only). The link is provided on the same page or you can search for quickoffice pro HD

    • Nice spotting utkarshgoel!

Click for direct link http://www.amazon.com/Quickoffice-Pro-HD-Honeycomb-Tablets/d… via QR Code: http://bit.ly/vufRq4.qrcode

Don't forget to "purchase" it now and you can install it any time in the future. Can anyone figure out how to download the tablet version for future use?

      • I don't have an Android tablet can I buy the HD version now and download later.

        • If you have any sort of android device registered with amazon then you should be able to.

      • Thanks Forgot69
also I was able to purchase both versions even though I just have a tablet. When I bought the phone version it just gave me a warning and on clicking buy anyway I was able to get it.
        Hopefully works for u too.

  • really cool, just got it for my tab.
was wanting to edit excel. thanks op@!

  • Thanks. Any comparisons to DocumentsToGo and the recent Amazon freebie, OfficeSuite?

    • +1

DocumentToGo is still reigning king but QuickOffice is not far behind. Oficesuite sucks ass compared to these two.

      • Time to uninstall OfficeSuite then! Hopefully DocumentsToGo will come up as a freebie soon one day.

Edit: Just giving OfficeSuite a try. I tend to use Excel sheets a lot and navigating an excel sheet is pretty fast on my low-powered Android. What I haven't figured out is how to Zoom out? Can't see much spreadsheets on a small phone screen.

Edit 2: A quick google search reveals it uses two-finger zoom. Hmm, my lowly Android doesn't support multi-touch (by default)…

    • I rooted my phone and flashed Android Revolution ROM. All of sudden I found Polaris Office.
Is it better than DocumentsToGo and QuickOffice Pro?

  • +2

my account is blocked and following the instruction, it is still not easy to set up another fake account. so i go with those cracked apps.

      thief.

  • So far after trying all the office apps , I narrowed to 2 quick office smart pixel one as the best. … Both are amazing . Documents 2 go stopped working on my iconia properly.
Grab it legally free now or you can download anytime from 4shared if you know the drill.

  • just went through all the hassle, n it appears this app is only for phones. It says incompatible with my iconia tab.

  • This is super Awesome!!! :)

I followed steps given on http://www.abtevrythng.com/2011/03/how-to-use-amazon-app-sto… and now I have Quickoffice Pro on my Tab! :)

BTW: You can get daily free app notification just follow @abtevrythng on Twitter! http://twitter.com/#!/abtevrythng

  • Awesome, got it installed on my Acer Iconia using the steps given in the link.

Alternatively…just get it free through GetJar

    • Didn't notice it is free on Getjar.

      • My colleague just downloaded the one from Getjar and found that it is a 7 days trial.

damn… for a second i thought this was iOS! :)

    • +1

      It does say

      Amazon Android App Store

so I guess you could have made a mistake

  • Thanks it worked

  • better grab it while you can, the last time it came free i didnt bother to install and left it under my apps, went to download it later and it said Amazon need to authenticate and auto quit by itself.

  • I think I've tried 10 times now to sign up for an account that actually works. I even found some real person's address and telephone in the US through the Whitepages and it still doesn't work.

Anyone willing to make up an account for me?

    • +1

Anyway to grab it on a pc without any android devices registered?

      • +1

        Use Youwave

  • ThinkOffice and Google Docs on my SGS1 already. Just wondering what are the added benefits of this app that'd make me wanna switch? I wouldnt mind downloading it, but if it really doesnt do more than the office apps I already have then no point.

  • Damn, it says amazon appstore is not available in your region. What do i do?

    • Did u read the instruction first?

      • Unfortunately, cannot read the first link. Got a web filtering violation here at work :). Maybe once i got back home.

This is no bargain for us in Australia. As much as I regret that Amazon does not currently offer apps downloads outside the US, this does not make it OK to cheat them. Setting up a fake account using a fake name and credit card number would most likely be considered fraud if ever tested in court.

    • In the first place they should not ask for CC number to purchase something which is ZERO dollar. I have never came across something like that before when I purchased games online like from greenman or on my iPad or Android.

      • It asked me for CC but i used a fake one :p

        • I just replied "team teri" because he said we should not cheat them but in the first place Amazon cheat us for CC which is not necessary for a zero dollar app.

        • +1

I doubt Amazon are going to come to Australia to sue you over using a fake US credit card. I doubt it very much

    • Any organisation who doesn't release anything to the entire world at the same time is cheating humanity. We are all equal, why do we have to miss out

      • I am quite sure Amazon would love to cash in on additional business from Australia, only the content providers don't let them - yet. But that's a different story.

Following your logic we would not have to 'stop the boats' or even have border checks, after all are all equal, right? :-P

@superforever: if I don't like the way a shop treats me as a customers I just stay away.

        • Then in the same line of thought from "if I don't like the way a shop treats me as a customers I just stay away."

If there is something I want, I will do anything to get it. It's true too, no?
          Just a thought that's all =)

  • would someone be able to post a like to the quick office pro .apk file for this?

    please

    • Getting an Amazon account for a FREE app where the original developer gets paid and stealing an APK file… do you want help me pick where there might be an issue here?

      • -1

Is there any difference between cheating Amazon into allowing a free download and just taking it from the developer? Really? Who pays the original developer when you download the app for $0 from Amazon?

        • Developers get a % of the original price for every download. Since Amazon is trying to build an app store they are having to pay a few developers to join their store. My mate is a developer and he told me that as soon as he gets his app on the Amazon store, he will try to get it put in app of the day since Thousands of people download it when its free.

BTW his app is based on augmented reality.

        • Thanks 'team teri' for asking the question:

          https://developer.amazon.com/help/faq.html

The Free App of the Day is our premier curated promotion in the Amazon Appstore. Each day, the app we select is featured in some of the most visible placements in the Amazon Appstore, including placements on mobile devices and Kindle Fire. These placements and the exposure they provide drive significant traffic to the featured apps and allow the developers to grow their installed base quickly. It is common for apps to be downloaded more than 75,000 times on the day they are featured as the Free App of the Day. That volume of new users can generate great word-of-mouth publicity for your app and also provide a compelling opportunity for you to monetize your apps downstream through features such as in-app purchasing and advertising.

Still you must admit there's stark difference between an APK and dodging up and account for a free app, no?

        • Hi Forgot69, thanks a lot for the very informative quote and link. While it is not spelled out in the part you quoted it seems (based on the info in the link) that the developer will get at least 20% of the list price in this case - instead of the usual 70% of the sales price. With the increased volume through 'free' downloads the developer should be happy.

The main difference between sharing the APK and using a dodgy accocunt is who is losing out. Every 'free' download costs Amazon $3 in royalties paid to the developer. Is cheating a big company less bad than doing the same to a small developer?

        • By law, cheating a big company is just as bad as doing the the same to a small developer. However, if there must be cheating of this sort, I'd much rather it be done to a Fortune 500 company than your local business. Such small scale losses like this doesn't even warrant any attention from Amazon let alone any sort of investigation.

        • How the hell is it cheating, its the same as buying games from Steam US. It's legally available in the US, no one is losing out here because Amazon themselves put it up for free, if 2000 people from Australia download it, Amazon are not losing anything since they knew that people will download the free app, it doesn't make a difference to them how many people download it.

You should realise that Amazon are only doing the free app per day thing to get more people to use their app store and hence invite more developers to submit their app to it. I doubt they would be looking at how much "loss" they are making when they are aggressively expanding themselves.

OzBargains, where morals are flexible depending on the quality of a deal! 57 people agree with me. ;)

  • fk yeah!! awesome! I also used the above method to get Plants Vs Zombies which I have been dying since I converted from iphone. Although I had to buy a $3.99 gift card with an aussie account and add the code to my fake US account :)

    • This is a far more useful app than some Office thing. Well played, sir.

  • Finally worked after entered different details many times from the INSTRUCTIONS! Anyway got it to install to 2 GSII & Acer A501.

    Thank you very much.

    • Did you have to keep creating new email addresses?

I spent about 30 minutes messing around with fake IDs, bullshitting Amazon, and downloading an apk from a totally unknown source. Then I realised that I was messing around with all this shit for an app I'll never bloody use anyway. I was doing this for a perceived value of $20 - and frankly my time is worth more than what it was taking me.

There are other Android stores, we don't need Amazon.

    • Are you negging because this app is useless to you? O.o This app would be great for students or people who need to read/write/edit word documents etc. on their phone whilst on the bus or something.
For people who already have Amazon appstore, this only takes 1 min.

    • Have a look at Voting Guidelines before voting on any deal. Your neg is invalid

      • Using the very link you provided:
"Negative votes are also appropriate when there maybe something wrong with the product. Eg an automobile accessory that may be cute, but might be against ADR's (Australian Design Rules). Or an telephone product that hasn't passed local approvals. Safety issues"

This deal is not available to Australians. I voted it down solely for this reason.

        • yes it is. I have used this deal, just because you have ethical issues with the deal and do not want to create a fake account only means it's not available to you.

          Voting Guidelines

In essence the negative vote is a warning. A warning about being a
scam, spam, defective product or a better deal exists already.

This item matches non of those, anyways your neg has been revoked by the community.
