Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER WINDFORCE OC 3X 8G Graphics Card $599 + Bonus SSD 480GB + Shipping @ Shopping Express

230

Almost there! Not a bad price considering the free SSD, then card itself would be below $550.

You are able to pay 600 and but not 610?

This is ozbargain or did I come to the wrong site?

        • +2

          This is not ozfreepost

    • +3

Saw this deal on SE myself earlier, and apparently it's supposed to have free shipping https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/LFA35X04-SE-Prime-Week-De…

      • Will they honor it and refund the shipping ?

        • Not sure but they definitely should. They probably just haven't gotten around to adding the discount yet.

          • @MiscOzB: Damn I just email them about the shipping price and then they updated it as out of stock now lol

  • +2

Beware there are numerous reports of fan speed issues with this card.

    • Yea I am about to jump considering big brand like gigabyte, but lot of user reports about coil whine while reviews said it’s cool and quiet. Dunno which one is true ?

Also considering this one after discount is 575, dunno which one is better, the gigabyte actually come out cheaper than the galax because of the free ssd, but really worry about fan noise, so gigabyte or galax Lol ?

Overblown issue (pun intended) I had one for several months and it was excellent. Great card.

        • I regret not buying it and it’s now out of stock

    • +1

Never had any fan speed issues or noise with mine. Very cool and quiet.

Edit: Just read up about it.

I don't have the loud ramping up and down fan noise. This never happens.

For me, under 30% fan speed, the fan speed fluctuates a bit within 100 rpm.
At 30% it's stable at ~900rpm (I set my fan curve to start at 30%) It's not audible at this speed.
Above 30% it's stable and scales nicely to 100%.

      • Thanks for the detailed feedback, I am in need of a gpu, already built a 3700x machine and just waiting for a gpu to use it. and 2070 super is enough for my need, 3070 will cost above 900 in launch no doubt and just a bit over my budget, the ssd is a great gift as my laptop need a replacement one. So the price seems fair to me.

I can see the gaming OC model is currently selling for $629, not sure which one offer better value. The gaming OC has an additional year of warranty and rgb.

        • +1

If I were you I'd get a 2070 super, it's good value, even better with the SSD.

The 3070's price may fluctuate based on demand which I'm thinking will be very high.

          • @Ctn: Yea for me it’s the same because I am a light gamer and will never really use the full potential of a 3070 so a cheaper 2070 super is my choice, and still a significant saving.

        • I faced same decision and went with the gaming OC last deal. I've had it about 3 weeks and no fan speed or noise issues noticed.

Only have a full HD monitor (awaiting delivery of 1440p) but games run great at ultra settings, I've played Deus Ex, Far Cry 5, No Mans Sky….

I happy with the price per performance and this will keep me happy for a couple of years before I buy a 30xx series.

          • @Gelms: Thanks for the update, do you know how long the delivery is from SE?

            • @ozvictor: I went with Computer Alliance during last ebay deal, delivery to WA was 4 weeks.

        • r u talking about the 3700x rtx 3080 pc from the current Techfast deal?

    • I had fan issues with my GTX1080 wind force. It’s the same architecture for the heat sink and fan for the GTX2070 and I won’t be surprised if it’s gonna happen.

When games starts to run, the fan would kick up to 100% speed and it’s not registering any RPM on any GPU fan speed management softwares. The fans are so loud that it sounded like a massive drone is about to launch

After 3 months of RMA process, they gave up and fully refunded the cost of the card. I’ll steer clear of any Gigabyte boards that’s using the Windforce design.

      • Fyi the Windforce part of the design is the fan deployment. Two spin one way and the other spins opposite. It sounds like yours had a fault sure, but it's not with the fan design which has been carried over to the entire gigabyte 3000 range which is noted to be one of the better cooling designed cards.

        • I know Windforce is a Gigabyte thingy for years. It's concerning that this design has so many flaws in most of their GPU releases and yet they're still pushing them out.

Simply Google for 'Windforce loud fan' and you can see issues in almost all GTX / RTX cards.

          • @xenoic: You'll also see a lot of how it's one of the top cooled cards.

  • Tistoretle please.

  • I have this card from last deal and its quiet. under the load as well temp jumps from 48c to 56c then fan kicks in and temp goes back to 52c.

    • how long it takes from ordering to delivery ? Thanks

  • +3

Hasn't really changed price. Almost a year ago this was $637 delivered with a free 1 TB SSD.

    • exactly.

    • +1

Then it’s a great deal a years ago

    • I kinda agree with you, but in a scenario where you really need a SSD (that costs about $69), the card costs $531. Therefore the standalone price should go below $531 to beat this price. Would that happen in near future, or should we just forget about this card and wait till 3060 stocks are available?

  • With a 3070 being $800 - $1000

Surely the 3060 ti due in mid November must land around $600-$700 which makes this deal look really bad unless you can't wait.

    • +3

On paper, sure, but if there really are severe stock issues as reported you might be waiting until early in the new year worst case.

      • -3

why would there be stock issues for a brand new product?

        • +5

You haven't been paying attention to the 3080 and 3090 release, have you?

        • +1

Because sellers and resellers bought them all to rip people off, if you look at the situation with 3080.

        • Lol, is this a troll post?

    • How long will you be waiting?

The 3080 was released over 3 weeks ago, but in reality only a lucky few actually have them
I managed to get an order in within an hour of them going on sale (sites were crashing and burning all over the place) and my card has no ETA. I'll be lucky to get it in the next month or so. The 3070 might prove to be even more popular and you might not even be able to easily get one until next year some time.

  • Bought the last one after missing out yesterday - sorry guys!

Works out to be the same price as that MSI GPU deal from yesterday after you get the SSD - valued at ~60 but could take 8 weeks to deliver. Sold my 2080S in anticipation for buying a 3080 but I didn't get a pre-order in on time so I needed a good GPU till I can get my hands on one.

    Thanks OP.

    • I miss out again :( was just waiting for them to add free shipping

      • +1

        Sorry friend :(

I have sent them an email to refund the difference, but I'm not hopeful they are going to pull through.

Hopefully another good deal comes along that you can snag.

        • +1

Happy for you mate, I may just pay 30 dollars extra for the gaming oc one… I think this deal 599 is better than the msi one yesterday because I think 3 fans is better than 2

      • +2

the galax 2070s super ex gamer 3 fans (its white you can't miss it) is $576.63 on shipping express — if you don't really need one just wait it out :)

  • Btw for those of you who ordered this (like myself), check that your item has indeed been dispatched. My item was not dispatched and when I inquired, they said that they overcommitted. They will offer a refund or alternative GPU if you're in the same boat.

    • +2

In the same boat, this is really shameful as they still sell the same graphics card at a higher price. I also missed the opportunity to buy it cheaper $559.20 delivered from Computer Alliance eBay, as I was waiting for this! OZB community should boycott these crooks!

      https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-…

      • Its really horrible, i order from computer alliance but miss out on the redemption promo, my card sill arrive next week but they run out of ssd already, so annoying

  • +2

DO NOT BUY They are out of stock of the ssd, they won't honour it. Happened to me I ordered end of september and just got the email today that it was out of stock.

    • +1

      End of September? WTF!!!

We are discussing this issue in the other thread too, I sincerely feel sorry for you.

What I posted in the other deal:

I registered for the SSD on 5 October 2020 and got the 'fully redeemed' email.

Aorus was still promoting their 'free SSDs' on 7 October, after I registered. Plain misleading advistising knowing customers would not be receiving the SSDs, or pure incompetence.

Their FB post promoting the SSD: https://www.facebook.com/AorusANZ/posts/2679456228939008

      • Please save a snapshot of this before they delete it. This promo was on their website till at least the 16th with no indication that they were out of stock

    • Hey, are you trying to pursue this somewhere (ACCC/ etc)? I was shunted too and I think we have been wronged. yes, its while stocks last but there was no indication stocks were not available, even up to the 16th of October

    • Hey @rondon, please reach out to the accc and make a complaint - at least they will be aware there are more than just a handful of bitter sods wanting their due :)

  • Would you believe, they already started another promotion for RX 5700 XT card with same SSD from 31 Oct - 30 Nov.
    https://au.aorus.com/event-detail.php?i=1722

    • Lets see them shaft customers once again…
