Shoes for weightlifting don't need to be expensive though, just flat. I wear some Adidas Seeley from the last sale, and have been pretty comfortable using Chucks, and I know some who wear Vans and Dunlop volleys. I'd just get the UB and then something real cheap or on sale for lifting.
It really depends on what you plan on doing at the gym. If you are doing a lot of strength training, you need a shoe that is flat with a low heel drop. This will provide a lot of stability, which is especially important for when you are lifting heavy. I personally recommend the Reebok Nano X cross-trainers (https://www.reebok.com.au/reebok-nano-x-shoes/EF7071.html). They have a heel drop of 4mm as opposed to Ultraboosts which is 10mm.
I have the Nano 9s and they are great. I highly recommend them. I should note that these shoes are not good for running, but are great for strength training. When I want to do running, I switch to dedicated pair of running shoes.
Yeah strength training is what I do. I'll check those shoes out.
The NMD's also look flatter so I might check them out as well.
