I have bought a few games (not BF3 yet) and had no problems

  • Think the Pre-order price for PC was about 78 bucks. $89.95 RRP…

Was $50 from ozgameshop that included karkand expansion. Shops here need to lift their game to compete.

No deal as said by others. I got my RU version for $40 - though they're about $50 for EU…

So what? This is OzBargain mate. Amazon had the limited for $50 and Greenmangaming had these for $48… why is it worth spending $20 more?

I dont understand why ppl dont realise that this is an Australian stock… which means its region 4…
Ofcourse ppl can buy cheaper online, but this is an Australian version. This copy can be traded in, others cant be traded in.
Also some online content is restricted… For those interested in Aust version, this is a deal…
Plz people, stop being critical. Compare it with other Australian stores to be fair

    • Oh, didn't realise this was for PS3 and X360…

But, my point stands for PC there is no online content restrictions…

      • don't just neg because PC isn't a good deal.
hell i should just neg all multi platform bargains because i can just go torrent the pc version.

        • -3

          Torrent an online game, yep.

        • @thedude23
wow you've got nothing better to do than try and find flaws in my argument.
i didn't say torrent battlefield 3. let's say skyrim if that makes you happy.

either way, just because you can get a pc version for cheaper (or free, illegally) doesn't mean the deal isn't a good price for console gamers. it's becoming more and more common at retail stores to have the same special price apply to all platforms like so:
          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55094
why don't you neg that as well?

Here is the reply I got from Ausgamez for my inquiry:
"All our games are PAL Region 2 (UK).
    Regards
    Ausgamez"

    • You're making it sound like Region 4 is the be all end all for Aussie consumers.
Same game, same DLC, but Region 4 costs more $$$, and Region 2 (in most circumstances) can't be traded in. So I don't see why people shouldn't be allowed to compare them - it's not as though they're comparing Region 4 with Region 1, which is completely different DLC. PC can't be traded in anyways, even if it is Aussie stock.

At the end of the day, it's up to the buyer, but I personally don't see the value of trade ins. You're paying more $$$, then have to trade that game in later for Region 4 Australian RRP (which is much costlier, but the same game and DLC as Region 2). You can get both games from the UK for about the same, or even less than the trade in process, and even then, you only end up with ONE game.
