Morning boss, I searched it for you, no bargains to be found there.

      • Want to get the 633DC model and couldn't found any good deals recently :(
        Thank you

    • Do share if you find a bargain on the medium vornado dc.

Meh, that's not that cheap. I got the larger model for about $20 more earlier this year from The Good Guys

Good price (but I'm no expert on these).

For 100 bucks I'd recommend the 150w dynabreeze floor fan from Bunnings. It's big and ugly. But there are gale force winds in my 3x4m bedroom, on the first of 3 settings. And I love it.

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/dynabreeze-450mm-silver-industri…

There's also one with a rotate/pivot function for people that like the airflow to be more variable rather than constant, or cover a large area. But that one is only 120w. I believe either would be good purchases though.

    Hope that helps.

    • Don't you get sore throat/discomfort from strong winds. Any small dust and hair will also get whipped up.

      • Not really. But if I was a mouth breather I would. I used to have sinus issues so mouth breather while sleeping.

My room does have a dust issue, but I vacuum with a Dyson that has decent "HEPA equivalent" filtration (so they say) which means I'm not as worried about dust.

I do think either the dynabreeze or vornado could kick up dust proportional to their litres per minute of airflow though.

I've bought a couple of industrial type fans like that but they sounded like a plane warming up.

I hear the vornado is also very loud. But you're not wrong. I am using my fan for white noise while sleeping in addiction to its cooling.

And I'd imagine that with fans the physics means the more air they push, the louder they are. Except if they have some sound shielding like the overpriced Dyson bladeless fans.

        • Sleeping with a fan overnight?! Audible gasps

          • @Munki: It's more passing out, drunk on 20% discounted whisky, dizzy with the day's bargains.

My soul should be safe, even as my savings are in peril.

I have both, in the same room for use with my cycle trainer. Bunnings in front, Vornado 660 behind.

They are different things. The Vornado is a very focused stream, and very loud for it's size but I reckon it outperforms the bunnings fan by a comfortable margin for most purposes.

I love the bunnings fan as it has a hard power switch, so I have an Arlec remote control power point to use it with. The Vornado has 'soft' buttons, so I can't use it for the same purpose.

Oh, and the bunnings fan goes rusty.

I use this fan as my indoor cycling fan. I'll never turn it above it's first setting, absolute monster

  • Just bought 633 from Harvey Normans on the weekend for $119 with the $50 Latitude pay cashback

    • I got the 633 on Kogan for $119 around 6 months ago was only in white tho.

  • $100 for a fan? Can someone explain why that's a bargain?

    • This isn't just a fan, it's an air circulator!

      • …. Can't tell if sarcasm.
