When you say Pro Tools, thought you really meant by "Pro Tools". There's DAW product named as "Pro Tools" so you might want to fix that up.

For a range of choices, Search AliExpress for "USB Audio Interface"

Oh, this one was in row 2, for Au$ 210, &

Aliexpress is a step above wish.com I suppose

Still waiting for my 4i4 to arrive from UK. Paid $286 2 weeks ago.

    • Thanks for the heads up. Still don't know if I want one as I'll use it rarely, but wouldn't even have considered the possibility of delay. Amazon is usually pretty quick to ship.

    • Nice - I've heard of the Audient Evo 4, but not the MAudio. Some more digging for me to do, cheers :)

    • The Evo8 is now out :)

This is a good deal. Covid made these hard to get and expensive

  • Thanks for the post OP.

  • Can anyone answer if this is Arguable a better setup then usb input micrphones for gaming/streamining?

    • If you are serious with recording / streaming and going to use mic using XLR, this would be ideal to go.

      • Thanks for the reply moonphase. I plan to do those, but could be just impulse buying. If I don't do those I think I would just do discord/in-game audio. 2i2? incase I want to start recording

I figured this setup would cost a little more than a blue yeticaster but if one item fails in the chain I could easily replace that one part for less.

Would you know if this clashes with my DAC+AMP setup. Topping D10 DAC & SMSL SP200 AMP.

Also any recommendations on the XLR Mic, I've been eyeing the AT2020 Condenser and the Shure SM58 is a dynamic

  • 8i6 $355.06 and 18i20 $637.86 if anyone's interested: https://www.amazon.com.au/Focusrite-Scarlett-Audio-Interface…

Personally don't think the 8i6 is a great value over 2i2/4i4 because only 2 mic in, but the 18i20 with 8 mic pres could be interesting for some. Going for $988 locally.

    • Don't you need rack for 18i20?

I think 18i8 is even overkill for the most of people but it's good finding though

      • Any rack-mountable interface can just sit on a desk, but not quite as pretty! The rack ears are removable.

I do generally agree, more than 2 inputs is a pretty niche use case (for small bands, drum kit, complicated instruments etc.)
