    How does this actually mount if it doesn't affect the actual usage of the CD player? I've always had trouble with my Elantra having very low air vents so this could really solve some issues, but I can't get my head around how it fixes.

      Hi Hinee, you can still play the cd with the cd mount on, but when you want to take the cd out, you needs to take off the mount first, this is the only trouble. If you don't use cd player very often, this cd mount is perfect for you.

    I have this, been using it for past half year or so.

    It kinda wrecks the rubber seal/brush of the CD slot overtime.
    And the spring mechanism eventually softens, so it doesn't hold tight and the whole thing keeps slipping out and falling off on speedbumps/roundabouts.

    Big no from me. It fell down a lot, wrecked the rubber in the CD Slot and no a CD that is in there is stuck.

    I bought a low quality car mount from tk maxx and my phone fell out within a day of use, smashed my tempered glass but luckily not the real screen. It was quite a startling moment while driving. My advice is to either get a high quality mount (maybe spending top dollar), or storing phone in glovebox/console. Cheap mounts are not worth it. Avoid damaging your expensive smartphone or risking safety.
