    $429.95?!

Well, at least it made my choice of not buying easier.

    • But it comes with stickers and a keychain.

      • And a copy of the game! Unlike the RDR2 collectors edition.

A new console or some weird looking statue hmm.

Did anyone else get suckered in to buying collector's editions of most things in the past but simply not care anymore? Unless of course the collector's edition is incredibly appealing and fairly priced (this one isn't either).

Yes, me. I used to love them. Sometimes I look at them these days and think "wow I really want that" until I snap back to reality and realise it'd be a waste of money.

They are a huge waste of money. Should have invested the cash instead.

        I feel your pain brother.

    • I bought the GTA V collectors edition which came with a stupid hat and pencil case. Cost me $180. Needless to say it was the last one I ever bought…

      • I got the one with the duffel bag and safety deposit box. The bag fell apart instantly, but the box was okay, worth at least $25.

I still have my GTA IV collector's tin. At least that is somewhat cool. When you strip away a lot of the in-game digital items, stickers and keychains of no tangible value, you are generally paying top dollar for a crappy statue or a mostly good steelbook that might include a physical map. I especially hate steelbook PC games with no disc inside. What the bloody hell are you actually displaying on your shelf?

        • The GTA IV collectors edition was quality. I remember getting it at one of those night time Harvey Norman sales.

@Clear: It was good, but yeah the V one was not great, that pencil case went in the bin shortly after.

I also purchased a couple of the COD ones, the Night Vision Goggles and the RC Car with the camera. I rarely played COD games but I just wanted the toys, which I used maybe a couple of times and that was it. I still have them, but they are just really gathering dust, don't want to throw them out though.

The most useful one I bought was the Forza Motorsport 3 one, it had a USB stick which I still use to this day.

I buy the statues second hand…. less fuss that way and cheaper!

  • +3

Hmm, I'm having second thoughts about my pre order. I might cancel it.

It is too damn expensive. TW3 collectors edition was ~$230 from memory, and that included a hand painted statue

    • Same. I've only ever got 3 collectors editions: Sekiro, Ni No Kuni 2 and Kingdom Come Deliverance and have been extremely happy with them.

      But it's just too expensive.

  • +1

(profanity) that, ridiculous pricing. People buying that need their money managing for them.

  • +1

    Wow, all sold out again.

  • They have Xbox and PS stock again!
