While certainly not the lowest (previously $239 - via the Prime Deal just pass) price drop and is AU stock and comes with free shipping (even if you don't have Prime).

White labelled drive and might be filled with Helium1 or Air and won't be a Red inside, not SMR. May require tape mod.

++ What's SMR? explanation here
++ For those putting it into a PC you may need to tape over the 3.3V pin (refer to https://imgur.com/a/BFdmB).

Amazon UK is selling this slightly cheaper however this does not include the 10% import tax which then cancels out the item saving price of $7.59 when compared to the AU version.

  1. Based on user feedback on other sites it is possible that these drives may be filled with air

The Amazon UK price on Amazon AU already has the GST factored in. So in this case it $260.47 Delivered for Prime Members.

    • Thanks for the correction and now updated.

    WD101EDAZ
I did not require tape mod
    (purchased during prime day)

  • Is this the same drive as the 14TB one that sold for $299 previously?

    • It's either yesbro, nobro or idkbro. Pick one. Psst. it's white label and cmr.

  • Should I wait for cheaper price. Already bought 3 on prime day and need another 5 for my synology nas. All 3 I have are EDAZ model.

You often don't need to do the 3.3V pin anymore. If your drive is WD101EMAZ drives, they are air versions of the helium ones (WD100EMAZ/EZFX) that don't have the 3.3v trigger.

Other things to note about the air drives:
    - seem to run 5-10 degrees hotter
    - only have standard mounting holes, not the middle ones most other drives come with
    - seem to run marginally faster

  • Are these decent for long term storage ???

  • Just received this, the Aus version, ordered yesterday delivered today. Can confirm it comes with an Aus power adaptor.
