    • Ah I see, I didn’t know that, I’ve updated the post, thanks for letting me know.

    • And can the top 4 cards be used at any other stores?

      • +1

I would hazzard a guess that has been stopped now. Hopefully not though

        • +1

It’s against T&C’s but are you saying some POS allowed it?

  • +22

Just a reminder for RACV members, still 5% online for WISH cards.

  • Has anyone tried using say a BWS egift at Woolies or Caltex?

    • doesn't work. if you go on the WW GC website, they outline which gc can be used where

    • They're completely different stores.

      • +3

They used to work before, Woolies spent $10Million or more to update all of their ingenico payment machines to save people using different GCs, talk about wasteful spending. Spending to save like us ozbargainers lol

        • +1

Not sure whether this is the sole purpose of the ingenico upgrade …

          • @FutureTech: why else would they upgrade them?

          • @FutureTech: So someone's mate the Ingenico can book $10m of revenue, get their bonus then offer them a job.

        • +3

Only reason they are doing it is to make more dough from people not using their cards by making it harder to keep track of everything .

They are missing out on this : At any given time, 10% to 19% of gift card balances remain unredeemed — and around 6% of gift cards are never even used. These small percentage points add up to big money when you consider that, over the past 10 years, more than $1 trillion in gift cards have been sold.Jan 4, 2020

@popsiee: I think it will come back after COVID19 ends or we go back to more normal times.

At the moment WW is taking so much money it is ridiculous. In Victoria WW/Coles is only go to for groceries if you can only shop once a day to get everything. Probably a lot of people working from home buying gift cards online and getting grocery deliveries. They see a chance to close the gap and see what the response is.

I've been taking my business to Aldi with HSBC 2% rebate on substitute products that are same quality and cheaper. Woolworths and Coles still has Australians and manufacturers by the crotch. No other country I am aware of has just 2 dominant retailers for a population of 25m.

Up until a week or so ago (when I last purchased one), Big W e-gift cards registered as Wish e-gift cards using the Woolworths Money app. Thus, they worked at any Woolworths-group store that accepts Wish e-gift cards. I wonder if this still works now/when it will stop working?

          • +1

@miztadave: Don't worry, someone at WW HQ probably paid a mate another $10m to undo Gift card being able to use across brands. Also someone with a bright idea at HQ that will spend money to make money.

  • Hi OP, upon applying this promo code it is only applying 3% not 4%? is anyone having this issue?

    • The Woolworths card is 4%, from other comments the wish card is only 3%

      • Thanks HeisenbergMelb, I wasn't concentrating on the card selection.

        • I just opened my app and it says 5%

  • +1

Woolworths WISH Gift Cards are always 5% discounted with RACV, RedEnergy Rewards and The Good Guys Concierge

    • +5

They might not be soon considering all other partners have dropped their rates.

    • +1

      RedEnergy have dropped theirs - Big W/Dan Murphy/BWS 5%, Wish 3%, Woolies 4%

  • -7

Shopback still offering 5%. Just signup for a shopback account. No credit card fees (it forwards you to woolworths to buy it)

    • +3

      Incorrect. WISH cards are 3%

      • You are right, I have just checked and they have lowered them this week - I bought a few WISH cards last Friday with 5% discount.

Sunsuper has them still with 5% discount though.

        • Sunsuper has them still with 5% discount though.

note: $1 processing fee and can take up to 1 business day

  • +2

    RACQ still 5%

  • Might be a noob question as I have never used this. So do I buy this $100 giftcard for $96 and use it for my Woolies shopping?

    • If you are a member of RACV you can get it for $95 and it is a Wish card that can be used at Woolworths, their petrol stations, Big W, Dan Murphy's ….

      • @yola: are you sure, keeping in mind the T&Cs have now changed?

        • +1

Wish cards are universal - they can be used in all Woolworths-group stores. Which is why most discount e-gift card suppliers now have Wish cards at the lowest discount rate - generally matching the discount rate of the Woolworths supermarket e-gift card.

        • I believe so. The change is that you cannot use the branded cards at different stores eg. Woolworths at Dan's and Caltex at Woolworths like before. The wish card can be used for all of them and maybe that's why it's only 3% discount. Otherwise what can you use the Wish card for?
This is from their site 2 minutes ago
What can I purchase with a WISH Gift Card?
Besides being a versatile gift, a WISH Gift Card is a great way to budget everyday expenses such as fuel and groceries.
This works by purchasing different value eGift Cards and storing them in your Woolworths Money App. You can use them for groceries, petrol, household items and much more.
          Happy to hear from others.

      • Do you need a membership to get an RACV login?

        • Yes.

    • Well yes i.e.what else would you use it for :-)

      • Getting that gift card as a "gift" for someone xD

      • Fuel + 4c off

  • Stupid question, do people buy this as like a middle-man just before they do their shop? How long does it take to come through, assuming that it's an e-gift card? I'm interested in the idea of saving a couple bucks every shop but would rather not have to do my shop a day in advance if it takes time to clear.

    • how long it takes to come through depends on where you buy it. suncorp rewards is instant for all gift cards, making it easy to buy even when you're already at the shops. Cashrewards/Shopback/Entertainment book and others, sometimes take a good 30 minutes or longer for the email to come through

    • +1

The Woolworths site only takes a few minutes. But you need to stock up now as from 19 Nov 2020, no further discounts will be available.

  • bought 2 e gift cards more than an hr ago but still not delivered….anyone experiencing this??

  • Wow has woolworths dropped the discount on gift cards now? Been doing this for years every dollar helps.

And am i right in saying most of the cards can't be used in the different stores owned by woolworths so a big w card will not work anymore in woolworths now.

But wish cards do right? But they are lowest %.

So is all places now offering less than 5% for woolworths now?

Unbelievable woolworths are becoming a right tight arse.
I remember when you did an online shop and ordered meat that you be given more that your weight never under.
Now 99% of the time you will not get the weight but under and they will refund you the rest.

I also remember the days you often got discount codes or Groupon deals which large discounts.

Lets all shop at coles that might teach them a lesson.
