Solar Advice - Widebay

Hi, I'm asking for reccomendations for solar around the bundaberg/Childers area.

Always see venders offering from 3000-6000 on here but was hoping some members would have experience and reccomendations.

I have a brand new colorblind roof so don't want people screwing it up lol.

  • Get quotes from solarquotes.com.au

    • Done, Thank you. Any other advice greatly appreciated.

      • Watch his video. Don't expect throwing 5k for solar system and expect unrealistic savings. Compare electricity plan for your area.

I just signed off on solar (QLD) and got the quotes through solarquotes.com.au - worked great. 3 quotes, not pushy, various systems and prices. Vendors are pre-vetted so unlikely to receive poor experience. Still do your own research but I had a good experience.

Make sure the panels and inverter are quality, don't cheap out.

I opted for a 10.5kW system and Fronius inverter.

  • I just signed up with Gem energy. They were great to deal with.

    Do you mean colorbond?

Specsavers might be worth a look

  • They will not drill onto your colorbond roof. They will remove some screws and change them for different ones to be able to put the brackets.
Easy and without perforation to the roof.
Have a look at what offers there are in your area regarding feed in tariffs, unless you're a heavy user of electricity during daytime (this is where solar delivers the best bang for buck)
In general almost all panels are made in china with few exceptions. They are all pretty much the same.
Inverter is what should be looked at. Use well known brands, like Fronius, SMA, etc.
