    I’ve always wondered what the logic for blackwoods to hide their price was. Do you have an explanation?

        I joined up to check Blackwoods prices on a few items and found other sellers were a lot cheaper than Blackwoods. That being said, a couple of years ago I bought stuff from them on special that was cheaper than everywhere else I looked. Their regular pricing has been a bit on the high side for the items I've looked at in the past.
        Blackwoods do offer a price match guarantee on power tools, welding machines and power cleaning machines but there are exclusions even on that list.

        I agree, how anyone in their marketing department (if they have one) thinks hiding prices is a good idea is beyond me.
        The only valid reason I can think of is if they sell stuff below manufacturer prices which tends to upset the manufacturers. Other than that it just drives the casual buyer to look elsewhere.

        edit: or be a trade orientated retailer selling in bulk…….which it appears they might well be.

    Can anyone chime in on whether this is worth it given it appears to be mostly 12 point sockets instead of 6 point?

        Half are 12, the smaller ones look 6.

        The question was more on the value of buying a set that is mostly 12 pointed sockets.

      I have a similar Sidchrome set, 37 sockets, just missing the 2 largest 1/2" metric sizes.

      All of the 1/2" drive sockets are 12 point. only the small 1/4" sockets are 6 point.

      This is a good kit to keep in the back of your car, but note that this is the commemorative case, and is 1.5x larger than the equivalent socket set but in the standard red Sidchrome case.

    I've been waiting for a socket set deal for a while now. anyone shed light whether this is a good deal? I just need it for odd jobs around the car/house etc but there are kinchrome sets at bunnings for hundreds of dollars and then there are kits at SCA for like $30 regular priced. Not sure what is a good set/deal. Can anyone shed some light?

    I ordered yesterday and got it today.
    The set was just sitting in a box 20 times its size, no bubble wrap or air pillows and no packaging on the set either, looks a little old on the exterior but not used.

    I'm not too fussed considering the price but just thought I'd comment.
