The next most expensive is $12 from kogan. Everything else is just a few dollars.

There are quite a few suppliers of the chipsets used in these (we went through a lot in testing), this one has the best performance and reliability we could find at the time.
Understandably you can find cheaper alternatives if you just want a shutter, but we are happy to offer this one for free to anyone purchasing a lens.
