What yearish should i look at?
What year? The youngest you can find for your budget.
Corolla, Mazda 3, Lancer
Depends on the size of car you want - for the standard "smallish" car, I'd recommend a Corolla, a Hyundai i30 is also a really good choice. If you want a bigger car, I'd go for a Camry.
If only there was a site that had a list of cars for sale that you could sort by price, km, body shape (*triggered*), gear box, engine size and just about every other metric cars are measured by…

Just checked carsales.com.au and there is currently 119 seadans for sale between $9-11000 with under 150,000kms in the Sydney area.
2009-2010 Camrys would be my choice

These guys have gotta be kidding. Paying 9k for a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD CIVIC?! Looks like it's a poverty spec with plenty of scrapes, too.

@randomusername2017: 100%. I paid less than that for an '07 VTI-L Civic a few years ago. With similar kms. Great car and I'd recommend one of them to the OP.

Mate I sold a 5 year old Kia Cerato hatch for 10k after 5 years. Given they have 7 year warranty you could get one of those with warranty intact for close to your budget
