cant find it on the Offers list.

  • Looks like it’s targeted.

  • +1
  • How does AMEX know whether the spend is on PBS-subsidised products or not?

    • they may but you can buy gift card and use gift card to pay?

      • there's CWH gift cards? In-store only?

        • i think so

          • @SnoozeAndLose: Asked last time at my local store and they multiple staff members looked at me as if I were crazy. Would be interested to know if they still offer gift cards anymore.

            • +1

@forrester: don't need to care about them, they do have a gift card.

              Just bought 3.

            • +1

@forrester: Yes CW gift cards are readily available. I recently used it for the Zip pay cashback offer.

    • +3

They have no way to tell at all.

But I believe they aren’t allowed to say they are subsidising / giving cash back on prescription products so they write that.

      • What's the issue with subsidising PBS products?

        • I don't exactly know. It's something I recalled reading somewhere along the way - I think there's a minimum charge?
Or maybe I'm completely wrong shrug

    • They can't tell.

  • Got it on 2 x Edge cards but not on platinum card.

  • Bummer. Looks like I've missed out this time :(

  • can someone recommend the best value amex card? are there any without annual fee?

    • +1

Discovery has no fee. Qantas points.

      • qantas points or amex points? which ones better to accrue? (could get both but too many credit cards are annoying)

the essential card gives 1.25 amex points per $1 spend
        vs
the discovery card gives 0.75 qantas per $1 spend

      • +4

Amex " Essential" Card would be better for someone who is not into QFF. It has a more general Rewards program, and you can also transfer your points to other airline programs eg. Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Etihad etc. $0 annual fee.

  • I got it on Amex Essentials cards (primary and supplementary cards) and also Qantas Discovery card (primary card- I don’t have supplementary cards on this)

  • is there like an age limit to be able to get these rewards? I know commbank and westpac rewards have a 21 age limit which sadly do not meet yet :-(

    • +1

Really? Since when? This isn't America. If you can open a credit card, you should be able to get rewards. Unless you opened a Student account

  • Need something to stack this with - any chance of CR coming to the party?

  • +2

:(((( nil, none, nope, nada on 2 Amex platinums

  • NONE

  • -4

How do you make a $75 purchase if you don't have any medical problems?

    • Buy perfume and vitamins.

      • -3

What if you're a bloke (and the wife has young kids in tow and doesn't have time to put perfume on)?

And have the view that vitamins are expensive pee (except maybe B12 and D in some circumstances)?

        Any other ideas?

        • +13

It's literally a ten second job, putting on perfume.

Perhaps $75 of condoms for you if your family life is that difficult?

          • +1

            @kerfuffle:

your family life is that difficult

No, all good; I meant our priority are the kids vs perfume, nice clothing (vs functional) etc. E.g. functional clothing to carry the kids, have food smeared on, etc.

            • +2

@ihbh: They sell nappies and bibs at CW; sounds like you could do with both. Or maybe time to buy your wife a nice perfume as a thank you?

          • @kerfuffle:

Perhaps $75 of condoms for you if your family life is that difficult?

he'll need some burn cream, too xD

        • Oh, someone please…

    • +4

If you bathe, brush your teeth or wear shoes outside, they also have soaps, dental care stuff (listerine, floss), insoles etc.
If you don’t do any of the above, get lots of condoms.

      • +2

        bathe, brush your teeth

Probably has no time to do either

  • +1

If someone gets the cashback successfully on a spend that includes PBS products, please do us a favour and report back here!

    • +3

Just buy gift card and pay with the gift card. I can report that it works

      • Did you get a cashback from Amex on buying gift cards ($75 or more)? I have not received my cash back yet.

  • Doh - I missed the T&C about using the physical card. Samsung Pay doesn't work :-(

    • +1

usually means you can't pay using paypal

      • I'm hoping you are right, but I normally get an email from Amex instantly when I've used an offer. I had them saved on a Velocity and Qantas Amex, and spent more than $75 on each (gift cards). Neither of them seem to have worked.

        • No email either

  • Received on Qantas discovery primary and suppl cards but not on plat edge

  • +1

only got offer on a few escape cards dont think ill use them all. can you only buy a gift card instore not online?

  • didnt get on any of my cards

  • +1

Max limit reached a while back :(

  • Amusingly enough, I was only "targeted" for this offer on a DJ Amex card that I had closed a week ago, but for which I still keep getting spam emails.

Nothing on my two other still open, no-annual fee cards.

Ah well, I still have 'no ragrets' about closing the card. The $99 annual fee saving is still greater than the $10 from this cash-back.

  • I have it on my Essential and Gold card

  • Can you buy giftcard of $75 value?

    • You can buy any value

      • In store only? Or works online too if buying gift card?

  • I just purchased a $75 gift card in store, no email notification from Amex.

    • Me too, still waiting for the credit

      • Did you receive the credit by now?

It has been almost a week for me after the gift card purchase, normally these Amex credit appears within 2-3 business days.

        • Not on mine yet and I transacted on 11, 20 and 22 November

          • @tokziktigah: Hmm, something different with this promo then. I contacted the Amex and was told that credit is coming, and stated the maximum timeframe in the t&c.

            • +1

@victorheaven: The same thing happened with previous Amex chemist warehouse deal. It wasn’t immediate like other credits. It was credited on the last day as per their t&c which is 31/12 in this case

    • Same here. I normally get email notifications immediately but still have nothing.

  • +1
    • Credit will be applied to your Card Account after 30/11/2020.
  • you cant use a gift card online can you? only option i see is add voucher. so can you buy a e voucher instore or online instead of a gift card? can you make mulitple transactions adding up to $75 with amex or does it need to be done in a single $75 or more transaction?

    • Chemist Warehouse gift cards cannot be used for online ordering.

There is nothing called an eVoucher. Only option is to purchase gift cards instore and use it in store.

Yes for multiple transactions adding up to $75

  • Saved, Purchased $75 Gift card in store, Waiting for Credits.
Offer disappeared from "My Offers" and nothing under "Recently Redeemed" as well. Anyone else on the same boat ?

    • Yes, the offer was disappeared from my account under "Save to card" as well after I made a $75 gift card purchased.
As per T & C, credit will be applied to the Card Account after 30/11/2020, let's wait and see :)

      • I saved to card, did my spend, now no trace of it anymore …
Guess I'll have to wait too…

  • +1

one of mine shows "Recently Redeemed" never got a email. thanks i didnt know i could do multiple transactions adding up to $75. might start using amex for small online purchasesnow and then buy a gift card to make up the difference up to $75 on nov 30th.

  • Offer not showing for AMEX Platinum Rewards card

    • +1

[Registrations Capped] long ago, sorry you missed out

  • Today is 1/12/2020.
    Nothing happens…

  • I am still waiting for the statement credit. Have anyone receive the credit yet?

    • +1

      Not yet here as well

      • Same. Not yet…

    • +2

I contacted amex, they told me credit won’t be applied till 31/12/20 - that’s kinda ages away…

    • +1

I'm also still waiting, technically they are still within the terms they mentioned. But I thought last time it was much quicker …
Edit: with last time I meant for a different similar offer (amount was credited after a few days, maybe I was just lucky that time)
I tried to contact amex too, no online support available …

  • Did anyone get a cashback on buying CW giftcard (worth $75 or more)?

    • +1

See comment above, people still waiting for the credit to appear.

      • Thanks, overlooked last few comments. I believe earlier it was mentioned that the credit is going to be credited after 30/11.

        • No worries.
I can't remember anymore, for once I have no screenshots of the promotion (silly me).

          • +1

@johnmelb: sometimes it may continue to show under your expired offers (on Amex mobile app).

            • +1

@NeverMissABargain: Thanks, I actually didn't check the mobile app recently, there I can see it as redeemed.

  • +1

I noticed this in the savings tab on my card, the credit hasn't been posted to my account yet:

    AMERICAN EXPRESS PROMOTION CREDIT
    REDEEMED
    12/12/2020
    You saved $10.00

I haven't used the card since November for the CW deal, so I'm hopeful it's the credit for this deal.
