Even though you say there isn't a need to neg the deal, there is a need to neg the deal. I forgot I bought cards once and if I wasn't flipping through some emails checking other things I wouldn't have noticed it. I contact them and got them eventually, but they would have happily kept my thousands of dollars and not said a thing.

They're a disgrace. Do not support them.

    • You mean they never mailed them to you?

      • +9

        Neg is very legitimate.

He paid thousands for the gift cards and they never even sent them. Not lost in mail, never sent.

        • +4

I always put a notification in my notes on my phone. Its on the home page and I list everything I order from Amazon etc. Mark off as it arrives. Also cashrewards/ shopback bonus rewards as they take a few months. All this saves me remembering and every few days I flick through to check. Its a handy tool to save me forgetting…

          • @Puglife: Thanks for sharing Puglife. You inspired me to create a tracking note on my new phone!

      • +13

You pay for item, business delivers.

If the business is hoping you forgot, that's just bad business. How can you not see that and blame the person? Are you associated hoping for your bonus cartier watch? Lol wow can't believe some people

        • -5

Not at all defending the business, but the OP's clearly mentioned all the pitfalls in description…

Are you associated hoping for your bonus cartier watch?

          LMAO

    • -2

How do you just forget that you bought thousands of dollars worth of cards? You just wouldn't have noticed and would've forgot that you spent thousands of dollars on gift cards?

      • +5

The thing is, I think their estimated delivery time is usually quite long. So naturally, no one will chase it up while it's during the delivery time.

        • Ahh I see, I agree it's unacceptable then & now see the reason for the down votes as never used this mob before .. bad form for a company to not send out what they promised after many months of the item being paid for.

    • +2

Omg your post made me check my records to an order I made earlier in the year. I had made a few and lost track with the extended delays. Low and behold I have an order from January 2020 not fulfilled. I can’t even claim it back now it’s been so long.

    • +1

Ditto for me. Realised they were missing in the exact same way and after numerous emails over weeks and weeks, they eventually emailed me digital cards in lieu…6+ months after original purchase.

  • +16

The way the operators of this scheme conduct their business is pretty close to making it a scam; huge delays (even after their supposed massive timelines), lies, only replying after disputes are raised, offering different products etc etc. They really should be banned here.

Do not take up this offer.

    • +8

They really should be banned here

      Agree

  • +8

i second that been waiting over 4 months . i have send countless emails got many excuses but no result thinking about doing a chargeback . you wont get them in the mail they may offer you emailed e cards if you are lucky

  • +2

have a feeling they're trying to profit off people who forget about the gift cards

anyone else feeling the same too?

  • +1

    how to get THIS membership?

  • +6

I had the same experience for more than once. The most recent was ordered in June 2020, notified them in early Oct 2020, then back and forth email asking if I would take e gift card instead, then eventually they said they checked and the physical card has been sent out. Only got it by mid Oct. (I am still waiting for my September order…)

  • +7

No first hand experience, but going by the comments, I’d rather get 4-5% now than 10% four months later with the possibility of me forgetting that I bought it and getting -100%

  • +3

Think I'm joining in with a neg.
Still waiting on a previous purchase.
    Already been 13 emails… "coming soon…"
Not worth the hassle if you value your time for anything.

  • +6

These guys are crooks. Avoid. Business model is to hope you forget about your order and claim the gift cards are lost in the mail

  • +1

Curious to know if accc could help with these type of 'scams'?

    • No.

      Useless.

      Tried many times.

      Don't do a thing!

Why does ACCC even exist if it doesn't do anything???

  • +5

Do not deliver what they promise. Pain in the ass to chase up. Scam.

    • I must have ordered from them for at least 3 times. None has delivered within the original delivery date. Once I got e-gift card as replacement after I chased up. 2nd I got physical card 3 weeks after I chased up. Still waiting for 3rd order, 2 months already.. I am not surprised that I have to follow up again.

  • +3

Look, I don't mind waiting some time, and had with previous orders with them. But my last order was in January this year. They of course didn't meet their promised date. I followed up and was told to wait a bit. I patiently waited a bit more, then followed up again. Emails bounced, then someone else replied. Ultimately I had to take it to a dispute and only then got a refund. So nothing was achieved but giving them money for a period of time and as I never got the cards, no discount at all.

At this stage I considered myself lucky to get a refund as you're outside the bounds of credit card guarantees. Basically, it's not just the disruption and time wasted, but actually a 100% risk if you don't get your money back, so have to neg this. If you were guaranteed to get the card, this may be worth it, but since you're not this is definitely not worth the risk, given how long they make you wait.

  • +2

You say 10% off Christmas shopping? LOL. Be lucky to get it by Easter but most likely not at all.

    • +1

Ordered in January, estimated delivery in March, only sent in May after following up several times

  • If paying by PayPal with to this scam TGG gift card business, does PayPal ALWAYS 100% refund your money???

Can I order and lodge a dispute immediately?

And see whichever comes first - gift card or dispute?

Either way, my money would be safe.

    Or am I missing something???

    • +2

You are missing a lot. You can't open a dispute immediately - based on what? They haven't missed their delivery deadline yet.

There is some debate about whether gift cards are covered by Paypal - my view is that they should be covered for physical cards. egifts etc will not be covered.

The typical response after you eventually raise a dispute is a few more excuses and delays, possibly offers to replace the physical cards with egift cards (which they never did follow through with in my case) and eventually they will refund you before Paypal forces them to.

By this time they've had your money for 4, 5 months or even longer and you get nothing to show for it except hassle and stress.

      • I always Open disputes based on any and every option available.

Just to get it Open and get a reference number.

Despite the veracity of my claim.

But 4 months is too long. 1 month would be okay.

        Thanks for the good advice!

        • +3

          Careful.

Once Paypal rule against you (your claim being invalid because they are still months out from their promised delivery date) you may not be able to open another one once they actually exceed the date.

  • +4

They are TERRIBLE! Never sent giftcards on their promised dates, never.

  • +1

I received the message: You have exceeded maximum number of allowed attempts. I haven't bought any in last six months.

  • +1

Why does The Good Guys want to be associated with this mob???

How much Commission do they get?

Is the Bad brother of the The Good Guy the CEO of this scam business?

They are now The Bad Guys in my book!

  • +2

You have to chase them or you don't get gift card delivered, based on my 3 times experiences.

  • +3

BAN THIS TERRIBLE BUSINESS FROM OZB

  • +6

    Don't buy from them
And I suggest admin to ban this business.

They keep your money and don't deliver.
    They just don't have stock.
There is no one on the phone and they rarely answer emails.

I opened a PayPal dispute case, then they just stopped replying, they want you to forget about it so when the dispute deadline is past, you can no longer escalate the case to PayPal and case closed. They will then keep the money as long as they want.

After waiting for 3 months, I opened a PayPal dispute, sent a final warning message to them: if I don't receive my cards by x date, I will escalate the case to PayPal. Then I received my full refund within an hour. They don't even bother to deliver.

I am lucky to get my money back.

You all know that The Good Guys is owned by Jb Hi-Fi, right?

    • What's your point?

    • +2

GG Concierge is part of Good Guys but the operation of the card scheme performed by a third party (Pegasus Group).

If you complain to Good Guys they don't care - I've tried.

      • Following up with good guys actually worked for me. Had to follow up multiple times though. Agreed that the business is shady.

        • How did you follow up with TGG? Through Concierge team via phone/email?

      • Whoa, that makes sense why my gift cards bought from another provider also had delays and I had to chase them up

    • That inter-company link means nothing when it comes to TGG Concierge

  • Seems like a pretty good deal.. But why cant they just send the card digitally by email instead??? Just a bit concerned the card might get lost in transit. not keen on paying the extra $5.50 for regd post.. i guess i will pass on this offer

  • +2

From all the various comments, sounds like a Ponzi scheme. Using the forgotten delivery to offer higher discount. Not good.

  • +4

I am sick of repeating my comments every time.
Please refer to my post in forum.

  • buyers beware!

  • Yeah, nah.

  • Nope

  • Looking at the numerous comments about these guys they should be banned as easy for some to get lured. So a neg from me.

    • +1

      So a neg from me

I think you pressed the wrong button, you have + at time of this comment ;)

      • Thank you. I pressed + before I read the comments and did not know how to change it but fixed it now.

  • +1

3 successful big orders but instead of the normal Paypal shake em up . My last oder PP closed the case and I had to go to TGG multiple times in writing and warning of State Consumer Authorities to get my last order over the line .
I'll never order from them again ( not worth the hassle of knowing they will not send anything out with the whip ) and about time OZB puts them on a Scam Watch for the site .

  • +1

    I just mentioned (to them)
    https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/sales-delivery/non-deliver…
so hopefully they will cough up the cards real soon.
Otherwise I shall be reporting them and referring ACCC to these threads. :)

    • +1

I had to threaten them with a complaint to the ACCC to get my cards also, never again..

  • -4

Thanks OP, bought some to restock. On page with other in terms of delivery experience but have got my last two orders without follow up in 6-8 weeks period so I guess I would be lucky few ones.
