I dont buy the $599 retail price everyone is selling them for between $399 (deals direct) and $449 ( Billy Guyattes) but the free shipping makes it worth while. So I bought one but man did it take forever to get on the page. I wonder if they will also sell the spare parts too as I would like to get another set of brushes.

  • i doubt it will work very well, i won't be throwing away my vacuum.

    • yes, but will it work well enough

These are not the droids you're looking for.

    • some good reviews online but I wonder if this model is older as the onces on amazon are different looking

      • These are the older model, I was about to buy one (about a year ago, same model), but my wife was not impressed during the demo at the store. Don't forget to look at the unit's limitations, It will not do your entire house!, only the area programmable and covered by the sensors, people tend to think it will just do your entire house, it doesn't. When you read the reviews consider this factor also. I agree with Imp- more of a sweeper. And the $599.00 WAS the usual price at all the stores we saw them at, Good guys, Harvey Norman etc.

Well I guess we will have to see what its like and with Bigw at least you can return it without much fuss or hassle.

We have one of these - they are brilliant. The only thing to consider is that they are more of a sweeper than a vacuum cleaner.

You can get it at this price anytime from Good Guys.

    • Link please. I found their price to be $379.

Go in and negotiate. Pay less pay cash.

        • +1

Do you work for them? I can't fathom why you would neg this deal based on the idea that you can go in and negotiate elsewhere.

        • +6

I like the fact that i can purchase this from the comfort of my couch and avoid all human interactions.

saw it on Breaking Bad and wanted one ever since :D

hell yeah … oh man the way Jesse was looking at it …

  • im really tempted to buy this, you can get it on Amazon US for A$282 with postage but with amercian power supply so you need a step down transformer too

Some of the reviews are mixed i think you will need your warranty so the good guys with a extended warranty might be better, Ill be waiting till boxing day sales for this one.

  • I kinda want one of these but the problem I always have when looking into it a bit is their seem to be 500 million models of roomba [slight exaggeration] a few are even quite specific usage type [eg Pets or wooden floors].

The ones you see decently priced or discounted are usually older models, which makes you wonder about replacement parts eg brushes or new batteries being readily available and cheap when needed.

Most ratings are quite high but they also seem to need a lot of accessories and comments about the failure rate / life span at between 1-2 years … makes me hesitant. I guess it depends on how much you hate / value vaccuming.

Would love to see any current owner chime in on this deal.

    • A mate of mine has the robomaid google it $399 inc postage

He and his daughter swear by it and it does pick up a fair amount of dust, he has a 2 bed unit with wooden floors and carpet in the bedrooms with not much clutter

Lol they really dont have many models. The 530 one is a good cheap one. Still cleans the same as the more expensive models. The higher models only include scheduling capabilities and remote controls (non-essential). This one is great for someone starting out with roombas :D
My little roomba goes crazy cleaning my house (3 bedrooms) but still does it all in the one charge. My model is an old one and is nearly 3 years old and the only thing i had to replace so far is the battery. ($30 from ebay)

      Highly recommend roombas!

    • I have this model. It was great for the most part. You want to use it to clean a room a day though, it's not really good for doing your whole house once a month or anything. Previous to getting a roomba, I'd vacuum only every 6 months - for house inspections. Now I vacuum every day (well, I do now that the cat is moulting). I got by doing one room a week in a 2 bedroom apartment before the cat started moulting though. 2 rooms carpet, dining and lounge room are tiled.

I have bought the 'aerovac upgrade' off ebay for about $60, since the cat started moulting and was choking up the rollers with her fur. Not sure the regular version can handle too much pet hair. the upgrade is just a new bin and filter for the back of it with a different design.

  • All it needs is an ipod dock from logitech shop and it'll be DJ Roomba :D

  • Read this when I got their email this morning, however lacks alot of features compared to the 560 google for the comparison.

Even have the 700 out now. For the money its outdated and old.

i have the samsung one, dont throw ur other vaccuum away as doesn't get corners and hates wires!

  • +1

Until they make one that can pick up toys and clothes, this is not much use to me.

  • Costco sells Roomba's for around this price all the time.

    • Which model?

  • The dust bag is quite small. So don't think it's a leave and forget vacuum cleaner. There is a lot of maintenance on it.

    • They don't have a dust bag.

      • Ok dust collection compartment.
