    • Thanks, the brand is ARTISS as stated in title.

ARTISS sell on many marketplace platforms including Catch, Amazon, Kogan…..etc.

      • +1

Yep, they're the biggest eBay seller in Australia, AND supply to a huge number of other sellers through their drop shipping business, which is why you can find them across so many marketplaces (plus the fact that every big eCommerce site seems to be rolling out a marketplace nowdays).

Saying that, I do find their stuff in general to be better quality than a lot of other cheap Chinese stuff. Suspect they're just a little more discerning in choosing what products to sell.

I've got an entertainment unit, a bed and mattress all from them, and happy with them for what I paid (particularly the mattress and bed, think they're quite good for the price).

        • I think so to, ive bought a number of artiss things (Beds mainly) and they were all of really decent quality.

Shame on them for saying leather, and then saying 'well actually, it's just plastic (/PU 'leather') in the description.

    • +7

Yeah I bet it's 'Luxury wood frame' and it's a .1mm veneer too

    • +4

As it says "executive leather", it means it has not been made from warm-blooded animals.

    • +3

Should be illegal to even say PU leather…it isn't leather, that's false advertising.

The Rolls Royce of office/gaming chairs (my opinion only).

Pretty sure this will be landfill years before a Steelcase or Herman Miller.

    • +2

Artiss is the Rolls Royce of china knock off equipment.

  • +3

The ARTISS products I've bought on ebay all looked nice at first glance, but do feel a little cheap in quality. Good value, I guess. Just don't expect too much and you'll be happy.

The Rolls Royce of office/gaming chairs (my opinion only).

Either you know absolutely nothing about chairs, or you know absolutely nothing about cars.

    • +2

      Or both.

Did Matt Blatt get bought out by Kogan or something? Their website looks just like theirs now…

  • +6

PSA (as I only learnt this earlier in the week) - Matt Blatt went into administration and was purchased by Kogan. Not really a luxury brand at all now.

    • +2

i.e. Kogan bought their customer list for next to nothing, just as they did with DSE.

    • +1

To be fair, Matt Blatt was never really a luxury brand to start with…

      • +1

Haha fair enough - maybe a well known brand is a better term then.

  • +6

    premium PU leather!

  • Knowing Matt Blatt (even though it's an associated seller) this seems like a copy of something that exists and is probably made with superior materials, albeit at a higher price. I have no idea but just wondering if anyone knows of a similar design that's made with higher quality stuff.

This still seems like a deal depending on your needs though.

    • +4

Matt Blatt doesn't exist anymore - it's kogan now so watch out

      • +2

Oh I don't plan on buying anything Matt Blatt/Kogan related anyway, I just know that Matt Blatt used to just reproduce other people's designs with worse materials but the originals were decent.

        • Oh my bad, I thought they had good designs but I guess they just knew the good designs to copy haha

i've got one of these. the L piece that joins the back is so weak/thin that it easily bends out of shape.

i had to weld it twice just to hold shape.

this will be in hard rubbish soon enough.

don't waste your money on artiss, buy the Buro Metro II for desk/office chair use.

    • +2

Exact same thing happened with my Rolls Royce - didn't even last 6 months before it was in hard rubbish!

Herman miller AERON is the best!

      Steelcase Leap

  • I thought I remember hearing that these guys went under then sold all of the furniture that they had in transit to their customers on auction sites , even though their customers had already paid for it.

  • Yep read about their customers getting the run around on items they already paid for, stuff these guys.

Wow, so much hate…. wish I had known all the above before I bought mine. Incidentally though, I am quite happy with it in terms of comfort and design. Hopefully it lasts longer that most have advised…

  • Not Leather - Not Luxury
Not adjustable arms - not a gaming chair

So just a plastic covered office chair.

  • I have read reviews of this chair and it's a bit hit and miss. No lumber support and the gas strut gives out.

  • Seems like an Eames inspired chair.

Fun fact: Eames made the chair for Herman miller back in the 70s

  • This doesnt have wood
