[Switch] Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! US$14.99 @ US Nintendo eShop

190

This deal is a little complicated to achieve, but I think it is worth it.

If you are not set to Nintendo eShop (United States region) already.

1) Login to Nintendo eShop and use up all remaining credits.
a) Make sure you have zero "Available Funds" in you account. (Otherwise you cannot leave the Nintendo eShop (Australia region))
b) Use the remaining "Available Gold Points" prior to leaving. (Otherwise you will forfeit the remaining coins on leaving Nintendo eShop (Australia region))

2) To change from Nintendo eShop (Australia region) to Nintendo eShop (United States region):
a) https://accounts.nintendo.com/ via the web browser.
b) "Change" Profile "Country/region" from Australia to United States". (select any time zone should be fine)
c) If it is your first time to join the Nintendo eShop (United States region), it will ask for a credit card and will charge USD$1.00 to activate account. (any credit card should work as long as it can process international transactions)

3) Now you are ready to start purchases, but you can only purchase digital games using a US issued credit card or a "Nintendo eShop Card - 20 USD"
a) If you have a US issued credit card:
-> Good for you, you can purchase the digital games by using the US issued credit card via the "Nintendo Switch eShop".
b) If you don't have a US issued credit card:
-> You must purchase a "Nintendo eShop Card - 20 USD" via ebay preferrable. (NOT Via MMOGA.com, because it will ask for a picture of you and your ID for verification)
-> Add Funds by "Nintendo eShop Card" using the "Nintendo eShop Prepaid Code". It is a 16 character key.

4) Now here comes the most difficult part. You must use up "Available Funds". otherwise you cannot leave the US store.
a) Think carefully how you could spend USD20 exactly from the store and purchase items. Remember you get 5% cash rewards in "Gold Points". That bonus may help you leave the store via smart purchasing of other on sale games. (use this site to help guide your calculations https://www.nintendo.com/games/game-guide/ )
b.1) game 1 = USD14.99
b.2) game 2 = USD 0.99
b.3) game 3 = USD 0.99
b.4) game 4 = USD 0.99
b.5) game 5 = USD 0.99
b.6) game 6 = USD 0.77
b.7) game 7 = USD 0.24
b.8) game 8 = USD 0.04
b.total 8 games for USD20 exactly.

5) You may now leave the US store and return to Australia store. (remember to use up the remainder Gold Points prior to leaving, otherwise you will forfeit the Gold points from US store.)

6) The game will show up even when you return to Australia store. (Even if the game doesn't exist in the Australian Store.)

Enjoy, but beware not to incorrectly calculate the purchase amounts, otherwise you will be stuck in the US store….

  • This is the list of sale specials for the Nintendo eShop (United States region) . https://www.nintendo.com/games/sales-and-deals/

  • Great found OP. We can also register another account in the US region so we can save the gold coins in the AUS account?

    • yes, another great idea too. So you need to keep two active accounts (AU) & (US) on one swtich.

    • So I can use my AU account to play games I bought using my US (separate) account?

      • Yes, and I believe that people are buying e-games from e-shops in different regions.

      • Only if you had the US (separate) account as the "Primary Console".

And the AU account is logged into the same console as the US (separate) account. [NOT as primary console user].

So really, only on the primary console of the US (separate) account, any other users logged into it can play the licensed games that the primary user console owns.

  • Thanks lol. Is it can not buy the song and DLC in the future

    • I am not sure. I will know when I start to try this myself. My guess is that you should buy the DLC from the same region as the software.

I have the Japanese copy of the game and you have to pay for the DLC from the same region.

Just found out this can work too

      Song 1: 1.49
      Song 2: 1.49
      Game 1: 2:03

      Song pack 1: 3.99
      Game 3ds: 0.98
      Game 1: 0.04

      • What is Game 1: 2:03?

We're sorry. Some items became unavailable after you added them to your cart. In some cases, you can return to the product information page to try another seller."

  • Looks like its avaialble in Aus store as well for the same price, however, when i proceed to purchase I received this error "Error Code: 9001-1670".
Did not help after i changed to US region.

    • Shows as $91 for me. Maybe you were in the US store.

  • arrrh no, I now have Use your 96 gold points + $0.98 left, how can i use them all up… appreciate any help here.

    • Wait a few weeks. Maybe there will be two games for $0.49 each.

You can still play the games in US store. Just can’t return to AU store for the AU Discounts

    • There is a bug on the switch at the moment.

      Try this…..

Check using the Nintendo switch that all three games are for the following prices before proceeding.

      Paratopic = $0.50
      Super Battle Cards = $0.29
      2048 Battles = $0.19
      Total = $0.98

      Do NOT use GOLD POINTS.

  • What’s the usual price for this game?

  • is there an easier way to buy from USA eshop?
