Looks like Officeworks price-matched Harvey Norman, although good for those without access to an HV.

How come Officeworks only lists it as MX Anywhere without the 2S model? Is it the same mouse?

    • +4

Probably is maybe it’s so they don’t have to price match Hahahah

    • According to the Q&A on the Officeworks page for that mouse, it is the 2S model. I price-beat this by phone to Officeworks (matched to HN) yesterday and it was adjusted to $56.05 no problems.

    • It lists a different model number, but I couldn't find any info on what the difference (if any) might be.

  • Is this the latest anywhere mouse or is there anywhere v3?

    • +1

The newest is the anywhere 3

      • Is there much of a difference? Its like $1×0

        • @chickendinner123 Anywhere 3 has “DARK FIELD” technology. So works on glass, mirrors etc. no side scroll on the wheel.
          Have a look here for comparison—> https://youtu.be/F69rWLOMSzQ

        • @chickendinner123: look at that your right. So all you really get is USB-C and no side scrolling.

          • @IndyXIII: I’ve heard something about the anywhere 2S not being able to scroll click? Or am I misinformed about that

            • @kaij: That is correct. Trying to click the scroll wheel changes the wheel from free-wheel mode to notch mode and back.
There is another button below the wheel to replicate a scroll wheel click.

        • The new ones have a metal spinner I hear. Also the wheel clocks in rather than left and right scroll.

Nice. I tried to price match this at Bing Lee to the Harvey Norman deal earlier today, just because I was in store. They refused, basically saying the price was too good and said they’d lose money on it at below cost.

Officeworks with fast & free delivery works nicely, better than Harvey Norman with $7 delivery at a snails pace.

    • welp, tried Bing-lee online and got no success. Apparently hot-deals aren't price matchable.

Unfortunately this doesn't meet our price match policy criteria, please check out the Price match policy at https://www.binglee.com.au/help/competitor-pricing-policy

Uhhhh isn't that the whole point of the offer?

We offer price match unless it actually involves matching the price.

Sounds illegal but binglee is a dinosaur retailer that shouldn't exist anyway.

      • Funnily enough, they were initially okay to price match but their sales system wouldn’t allow them to input $59. After deliberation, the store manager said what he said, I laughed and went on my way.

  • Have been using a 2 as my main mouse for 6 years or so, wonder if i should pick up a spare. Perfectly sized for my hands.

    • +4

If only it had buttons on both sides, cause then you could have one for each hand.

      • +1

I have for a long time wanted a mouse for each hand but also to have two different coloured cursors on the screen, one for each mouse.

  • Product Dimensions (mm) 140W x 45D x 180H mm

Jesus how big is this thing?!

In all seriousness though, has anyone used this and the M720 Triathlon? How would you rate them side by side?

    • +1

I have just bought the MX Anywhere 2 and have had the M720 Triathlon for a long time. The MX is definitely small, lower in height, less curved to form to the cup of a hand.

I use a MX Master 2 as my daily mouse and find it the most comfortable. However, in using the Anywhere 2, I don't find it uncomfortable. It is small but very convenient for carrying round in the laptop bag. Personally, happy to swap the Anywhere 2 for the M720.

      • That's a good point about the size. I'm looking for an everyday mouse to use at home, so might stick with the M720. Thanks for the feedback :)

      • +1

which one do you like more M720 or MX Anywhere 2?

        • I use a M720 at home for work laptop and MX Master 2 at work. I prefer the Master 2 over the M720 due to size and profile.
Between the Anywhere 2 and M720 I would rate the M720 better for comfort but the MX Anywhere 2 better for features and carrying in the bag to use in meetings etc.

          • @sobriety22: cheers. gotta say, Im loving m720. best mouse I've ever had, worth the investment considering how much I use everyday

            • @kgree92: Hmmm. I've seen it drop below $59 before. I'm hoping to get this or the m720 now during around black friday

    • Just picked one up this afternoon, the ergonomics are always subjective but I wouldn't use one as my main mouse, it's too small and cramped feeling for me. It should be decent as a small travel mouse.
My main mouse that has perfect ergonomics for me is a Razer Deathadder.
A lot will depend on your hand size

      • I think the purpose of it is a travel mouse ain't it?

        • It's claim is that it does it all, hence the name MX Anywhere.
It has both bluetooth and a dongle so you can easily connect it to both a laptop and a desktop at the same time and you can use software to transition between different computers.

  • Interesting discount.. I presume they still make a profit at these price..

    • Probably get a rebate from supplier. More than likely a kick back from being a larger supply chain that does more business than the smaller ones, ergo why we see constantly the same retailers offering lower prices than smaller retailers.

  • rage.. got from JB with the other deal for 69

  • Thanks OP got one today from Officeworks
Asked if they could beat the HN $59 but they refused as they are selling for the same price 😅

  • can someone let me know if the middle scroll button can be clicked to open a new tab?

    • yes. works in Firefox.
