    I just don't get the screens man… I feel like Lenovo only gets away with these machines because corporate buyers don't care what they're handing their employees

      You are right.I have a Lenovo X1 carbon given by my company for WFH and the screen is bad. Thankfully i always hook it up to my monitor.Otherwise i would go blind.

      • Oh damn, I really appreciate the feedback there buddy!

        I've been hoping for a nice saving on the X1 Carbon 8th gen (after sadly missing the last one) but tbh, after all the research I've done, I think I'm going to go with Dell…

        • Which laptop are you planning to buy? Lenovo edu store has good deals on laptops with good specs but the screen sucks.

          • @Modesty: I was looking at the X1 Carbon (or yoga) with i5 and preferrably 16g RAM. I like a bright screen so I wanted >300nits, but I hear a lot of bad things about the WVA screens, namely the PWM flicker which is not my jam. I was looking at the new Acer Swift 3 which has the 3:2 screen! Sadly it also has PWM flicker… I think I'll end up with a Dell XPS 13 with the aforementioned specs. Essentially, I'm not in a huge need of processing power, but RAM is a commodity that you never have enough of. I don't understand why they make it such a premium to have 16g.

              @dandoon: I think my search still continues to find a good spec laptop with good screen. Thanks for your reply. My

              Anyways I'm currently using an old Dell and wfh, - no more ext Monitor - and at the end of the weekday my eyes just bleed… Haven't thought much about screen quality before this

              • @Mulumulu: Ahaha damn, yeah I imagine! I'm lucky I bought a U2415 on the recommendation of my friends before I knew anything - a goddamn amazing 16:10 1080p monitor. No complaints at all. Now that I know what's good, I'm chasing that kind of quality.

      This made me laugh, I just got an employee one last week 😂

      • Ahahaha I hope cos it was accurate!

        Do tell of your experience with the machine!
        * battery life
        * screen experience

    $2899? Why??? There's nothing about this laptop that could make a sale at $2899.

  • Recommend the Ryzen 4800HS series laptop.
    Can’t recommend Intel anymore.
