CPU Cooler for Ryzen 5800x?

Got 5800x today but it doesn't come with a CPU fan
what do people recommend to use with this CPU, I won't be over clocking or doing any rather than run stock standard setting

Noctua D15 currently on NewEgg for $109 which is a steal

    • don't think you would need something that big and powerful for a non OC 5800x

      • kids play games on it so better spend extra 40 bucks or so and don't worry too much about cooling

    • Seems excessive if OP isn't planning to OC

  • Yeah I went for the beast Noctua D15 thanks but I can't wait so got at local store for $159

  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 or any of its variants.

  • Dark Rock 4

  • Did you get the normal D15 or the all black D15, man they look so good; and no brown fans.
Nothing wrong with the normal D15, it is just the colour of the fans

    • I got a poo Colour, didn't really care about the look and I need it in a hurry paid $159 at local MSY

      • You could always change the fans latter if you want to
If you have a case that has no clear panel, it doesn't matter about the colour.
What are the temps running at? At idle and at peak CPU speed

        • I only use one fan in the middle, cant fit the second fan, can't close my case lid if I put second fans in
so keeping it as a spare

Idle around 41 degree, gaming playing control for about 10 min varies from 60-75
general usage YouTube, music, web browsing between 45-60

          • @Hearthstone: I too use 1 fan, it is not as loud when it ramps up as using 2 and it is only 8c difference in tests
I have to check the temps on mine, I have been checking the wattage on my system instead
In everyday mode it uses just under 400W with the DAS (Digital Access Storage) on, 50W less with it off.
When I reboot into my other SSD for games, I use nearly 500W, DAS is off, of course & my GPU is
a 1080ti KiNGPiN. I have to find a proper software to check temps, Speccy only checks 1 core.
It is good to see the D15 doing its job on your comp

    • When I got my 3800X it came with the Wraith cooler & it was OK when I OCed it to 4.35,
but I bought a black D15 and I will play with the OC a bit more
