Seems like most of the Garmin range is on sale on Amazon. I own this watch and it is insanely good, and looks great too.

  • does it work with shopback 10% for today?

  • Lowest price ever on Fenix 6X Sapphire also ($999).

Interestingly, Johnny Appleseed has also hit a low of $999 for that model with a sale end date of 15 January 2021.

So my guess is: new models on the way! Very happy with my 6X Sapphire.

Edit: 6X Sapphire also $999 at Rebel and $998 at Hardly Normal

  • This or the instinct solar for hiking? I'm doing a six day hike and some navigation on my wrist would prevent wasting my phone battery.

    • A better idea might be a small handheld Garmin GPS - you can often get an 2nd hand Oregon 600 on ebay loaded with the latest topo maps for under $300. The watch is great for fitness tracking but the screen is a bit small for navigation. I have a Fenix watch but find the touch screen handheld better for hunting - it's waterproof and tough - we use them for search and rescue in the SES. If you pickup the backpack tether it works great for hiking.

For the price of this watch you could get a Garmin inReach Explorer+, the latest topo maps and a tether, and you would then also have emergency satellite messaging in case you got into trouble.

      • Hey iratepirate, I already take my inReach mini on hikes so taking another handheld device seems overkill. I'm really just looking for something on my wrist to stop myself checking my phone every five minutes. Maybe I should have gone the Explorer+ but think of all those extra grams… 😁

  • I saw this price on the Garmin website, decided to log into AIA Vitality and it looks like you can stack the discount, it shows $561.75

  • I just got this for $519.20 via Bupa Plus, so excited (borrowed a friends login!). Thanks for the tip @brightninja
