Capture One regularly is 25-30% off so don't think this is really a great deal.

Codes were ANNUAL25 and ANNUAL30. Not sure if they are active anymore, but should have something similar for black friday.

Edit. Although if you didn't want to subscribe then this deal might be better

    • Thanks for the heads up. Was not aware that they frequently do sales.

Although if you didn't want to subscribe then this deal might be better

Do you mean that those ANNUAL codes only worked for subscriptions and not the perpetual license?

Don’t know whether it is a good deal or not, but to your question about Fujifilm owners using it, I’m one and would any day recommend CaptureOne over LR. I’ve completely moved over from Adobe and use CaptureOne and Affinity Photo for my editing now. CaptureOne is really powerful and brings the best results for Fujifilm colours in my opinion. Really happy with it. There are quite a few fans for it over at the FujiXAus FB group.

To add - I actually use the subscription version, I prefer the up to date Software versions. Just personal preference, that’s all :-)

    • What PC specs do I need to get good enough performance? Am in need of a new desktop soon, so I want to factor it in.

Capture One's own recommended specs are crazy high (e.g. dual graphics cards with 4GB each).

I was using it on a 2012 MacBook Pro (non retina), with no dedicated Graphics Card. It was a Dual Core i5, 512 SSD and 16GB RAM. Was mostly perfect, though the latest version caught up with my Mac and it was showing its age while importing and exporting large amount of images. Editing as such was okay, I don’t use too many adjustment layers and all, so I was not feeling any lag.

MacBook died last month and now I’m on a Razer Blade, and CaptureOne is a treat on it as it virtually flies ;-) (i7, 2060, 32GB RAM).

You should be alright with a moderately powered Desktop. From my reading my understanding is that C1 uses the Dedicated GPU, so the newer versions like 2060 onwards will help you in that regard.

    Was going to post this…
This (unusually) also applies to upgrades, which are usually exempt from promo codes.
TL;DR I upgraded to 20/21 Sony for $144 AUD (from capture one 10).

This way I have the flexibility to skip an upgrade, I’m not a fan of ongoing subscriptions.

    • Thanks for sharing. I'm not a fan of ongoing subscriptions either. Would rather pay to upgrade only when necessary.

    • Have you had much experience with Lightroom and Photoshop?

Any reason you chose Capture over them?

I prefer the simple workflow and catalog management.
Capture one has subjectively better raw processing.
I don’t like the Adobe UI
I don’t like the Adobe pricing model.
I think the Adobe products run like a dog
