          • @cornbeef: My old PC that has just carked it was using Windows 10. Of all the bits that died, I don't think the HD actually did, so there should be some way to copy that install/license to a new device, I think. I'll look at EaseUS

            • +1

@sbot: EaseUS is free to do so it simply depends on whether you're happy to clone or start anew.

    • From memory, Windows 10 is installed but not activated. So you can still use it (with some limitations) but you will just have the "Activate Windows" watermark or something like that. You can pay extra for TechFast to activate I believe or get a license key yourself

      • Thanks!

If you have a retired PC with Windows 7 or Windows 8 license key, you could try that key.

      • I am thinking of getting this computer. My current PC will be retired and it has a windows 8 key which is running windows 10. I should be able to move the license to the new pc?

    • Usually they will come with Windows 10 installed and you just enter a license or use it without activating.

    • If you are just playing games, the unlicensed Win10 is fine - no impact on DirectX/3D functionality (you just can't modify the desktop/wallpaper settings).

    Hey Luke,

First time customer. When will these be shipped if we ordered one today?

    Cheers
    Daz

    • +4

Howdy, they will ship within our estimated 14 business day window. We're officially into busy season so I cant guarantee anything faster.

      • Awesome!

  • Can we have something like this back??

    • +1

Nopers. So much has changed since then.

  • Will this run League of Legends at 1440p 144fps?

Looks like Techfast follows Samsung's Pricing Model. Inflated Pricing with the splashing discounts makes it look like a really good deal. Prepared to be negged by the Techfast insiders.

  • Any chance of making something in a m-atx case? Would love to purchase but really want a smaller form factor to complement my office aesthetics 😂😅

    • +1

Yes me too, im a SFF fan

Thanks for the deal. This is the sort of thing I'm looking to get my son for Christmas.

Ideally we'd want to purchase something with some upgradability. Does upgrading to the B450 motherboard mean there will be better CPU upgrades available in the future or does it just mean we can use faster RAM?

Also would there be much of a performance difference between 2666mhz and 3200mhz if he is mainly playing games like Fortnite on a 1080 monitor?

    Thanks heaps.

    • +2

The B450 will let you use current generation Ryzen CPUs (aka Zen 3) in February when the board manufacturers release a bios update, plus it has a few extra features that the A320M doesn't have.

In regards to the ram Ryzen tends to like faster ram, but it wouldn't make a massive difference in the games your mentioning, however if you upgrade the motherboard,( recommended if you want to replace the CPU in the future) then for the extra $49 its a good call, because then if he plays more demanding games then the faster ram will help.

  • I just bought that exact GPU a few weeks ago. Would have seriously considered going for this system instead if it was available then.. too late now.

  • Must hold out

how is it that 2 years ago i get a gaming system from techfast ozbargain post that has a ryzen 5, 8gb ram, and 8gb rx580 gpu for 720 dollars but as years go by the similar spec versions are move expensive than what i paid for 2 years ago

    • +1

Yeah, nothing significant has occurred since then …

  • Whats the ETA if i ordered one of these to an address in Adelaide on Friday next week?

    • +1

Should be inside 14 business days. We are in Adelaide so if you want local pick up you'll save transit time and have your shipping fee refunded at collection. Enter Local Pick-up in the Notes field during checkout.

      • Oh thats great. Definitely didnt expect to have local pickup as an option. I'll keep that in mind. thanks for getting back to me.

  • Hi Luke, what's the mobo brand? Biostar?

    • +1

Apart from the MSI B450 Mortar that's stated, the most likely brand in this deal is Biostar yep.

  • Hey Luke - You never replied to my email I sent yesterday letting me know if that was a viable option to switch :D

  • Hey Luke
Just a question about the case mate what are the dimensions of it and does it come with a wifi connection

    • The specs are in the image gallery. None of the motherboards offered there have built in wifi. Also being a small form factor case with an MATX motherboard it is generally not possible to install a PCIE adapter except on the B450 Mortar. So you'd need a USB Wifi adapter.

        thanks mate much appreciated

Perfect Christmas present for my son, thank you :)

Bought one as my Daughter’s Chrissy pressie. Thx op

  • Can anyone tell me if this would run WoW Shadowlands well please? Bit of a noob here so I’m just looking for something pre-built and affordable :) Thank you.

    • +1

If running on a normal monitor (1920x1080 resolution) I'd imagine you'll max out all the settings.

At higher resolutions you might need to compromise on quality settings.

As above I suggest taking the bronze power supply upgrade at least to improve the likelihood that it lasts.

Sorry for asking if it's obvious but it's my first time ordering online. I can't quite recall where I read this, but I vaguely remember seeing something like a '2 business days parcel delivery' (I ordered on the weekend around 15/11/2020). Is this 2 business days until your order is actually processed and prepared to be sent, or does this mean that it will take 2 business days until they actually physically transport it to your house?

I downloaded the tracking app and asked for email/sms updates and so far, I haven't received any at all so I'm curious as to how this is meant to work.

    Thanks for any advice.

    • +1

Luke said its estimated to take around 14 business days but could come earlier

      • Thanks for the reply. I guess i'll just have to be a bit more patient with it.

  • Why the motherboard upgrade for the faster ram? Isn't the A320 compatible with 3200mhz ram through XMP anyways? And while 3600mhz would be ideal, 3200mhz should be fine for this build.
Also people talking about changing the A320 for a B550etc. Why not something like the A520? The Gigabyte model that I use has overclocking support (it's not meant to, but it does) and the VRMs run nice and cool. The A520m can be found for under $100 most places.
EDIT: They seem to be using the Biostar A320, which supports maximum speeds of 2667mhz.

  • Anyone got any recommendations for someone who just wants to surf the net at 4k 60fps with HDR?
Be able to watch Youtube, Facebook and Surf the net 4k? and hook up to my Receiver.
I want it to load fast, and be quick. thinking of spending around $1000
I haven't upgraded my PC in like 10 years? Right now it does 1080p 60fps and I have one of the 1st SSD's
I would like an NVMe drive.
Is this PC good for my usage, Or is it overkill?
    Thank you

  • Does the case have usb ports on the front or side etc? pics show little detail.

someone said $1600rrp is that accurate for this build?

    Thanks

  • Would definately buy if different case please give more option for case.
