      After 22 carrots?

  • is the case tempered glass or acrylic?

    • Acrylic side panel.

802.11n is fine for most gaming assuming your router is not too far and the 2.4Ghz channel isn't too congested… but otherwise it's a freebie / backup Wi-Fi dongle.

Better than a slap on the belly with a wet fish.

      • +14

Can't do belly, can do face?

      • +1

I was recently slapped on the belly by a wet fish and it was surprisingly enjoyable.

      • Most WiFi is not fine for games… I couldn't disagree more
Dongle should be fine for downloading stuff in general. But do yourself a favour if you play any game online that involves reaction times get ethernet over power if you can't run a wired cable.

Great PC build tho and price want to buy one

    • +1

Not sure why you downvote for pointing out it's only wireless n. Especially in 2020. Thats like what $5 in the Harvey Norman bargain bins

      • +3

Because it's included in a sub $700 gaming PC for free. There won't be a lot of margin in this system from what I can see - they throw in a freebie, and there's a whinge about it.

I think it was negged because sometimes step back and see the bigger picture here.

    • Wow a complete gaming PC for under $700 including at least a form of WiFi and you're complaining it's Wireless N? Really?

  • Thanks TA, always a pleasure! Lots of requests to bring this back, so couldn't say no.
Plenty of higher spec options (R5 3500X, R7 3800X and R9 3900X based builds) on our account page. Always happy to hear requests for CPU/GPU combinations to whip up some more deals at any price point, via comment or PM.
    Cheers

Not sure if it's something Techfast would do, but I'd be interested in a small form factor home media server/NAS build.

Gets asked every deal that's posted. Don't hold your breath.

A bit too far from core market at this stage of our business growth.

    • What's the usual ETA on responding to support emails?

      • +1

Should be 24 hours. Do you need escalation? Please PM me if som

        • +9

… Body once told me, the world is kind of ugly, I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed…

That's where that 'som' was going, right?

    • With the AMD RX 5600 XT being released in about a week, roughly how long would it be until you are able to sell that GPU in a fancy value deal?

      • +2

Depends on availability of after market models. Haven't had any info yet on that from suppliers. Here will be the first you'll see it though!

        • Sounds good! In that case, I'm jumping in early with either a Ryzen 5 3500x or Ryzen 5 3600, paired with the RX 5600 XT. I'll leave it in your capable hands.

    • Hey Luke. Was wondering the if the default 550 PSU will be good enough if I upgrade the CPU to 3600 and GPU to 1660 Super. Thanks

      • +1

Yes, the power draw doesn't increase by very much at all.

  • It is saying the monitor is out of stock for me :/

    • +1

      Fixed, thank you.

  • +4

I got this setup with a few upgrades I did myself (M2 hdd, extra fan) and it’s running like a dream.

    • Glad to hear it!

      • The fan? Are they cheap and noisy?

        • I bought some cheap LeD ones
From AliExpress. The fans on the case are just like any other fans I’ve heard on pc.

I got the Thermaltake case think the same as the one in this deal

    • Upgrade the PSU my dude, it's going to blow.

      • -1

        I’ve had a lot
Of PCs in the last 25~ years and never bought or had a “branded” or “bronze/gold” psu. Ever had an “explosion”

        • Plenty of non branded Chinese PSU go kaboooom!

          • -1

            @MuddyClear: And plenty don’t

            • @Danstar: Ah Chinese made "quality", they can copy but they certainly can't build quality

              • @FKG: Why do people get so butt hurt when someone’s opinion “defends” a product or brand they have their own, albeit
                Opposite opinions about ? Lol

  • Any possibility to downgrade specific parts?

Looking at buying a computer for my partner who will primarily use it for study and occasional Adobe Lightroom.

    • +1

Sounds like your partner is after a laptop

    • +5

Downgrading isn't possible, but I'm looking at an entry level PC deal for this week to, which would be steps down in CPU and GPU (and price) from this, so keep an eye on our account page.

      • Thanks! Will keep my eyes peeled

      • I will keep a eye out for other deal to . son has just started working at maccas and want to buy basic one to play some games . hopefully no monitor as we got he one for xmas ready for a pc

        • +1

It'll almost certainly be the same kinda deal - base PC with the option to bundle a monitor if desired. More flexible for customers such as yourself.

        • +2

For gaming this deal would be great value for money and should play any of the games he's interested in. Guess if he has only just started working you could give him an advance he pays back weekly towards it.

There's no monitor included in this deal, it's a $110 addon

          Add a 24" AOC E2470SWH monitor & wired keyboard/mouse bundle for just $110 more.

Your son will definitely want to add more storage as 120GB isn't really enough for the OS + MS Office + Games, a lot of games can be 60-90GB by themselves so it's worth picking up a hard drive to add into it.

          • +1

@Agret: Indeed. I got the 240GB Initial drive. Topped up a 120ssd I had laying around and a 1tb and feel like it will fill up before the end of the month lol

        • +2

I think you want this one mate. It's a basic one to play some games..

      • also keen - need one for the mother to check her email and do some light MS office work.

        • For light office/email/media playback tasks have a look at 1-litre form factor boxes on eBay as potential alternatives. Chuck in a SSD and its performance will be more than adequate. On eBay a Gen4 i5 can be found for around $180~$200. (stick with gen 4 i5 or later). Look up Lenovo Tiny m93p as the starting point. Personally I find the small size very good for reducing clutter. Also it idles at around 10W, essentially works like a laptop with extra ports. Kind of like a NUC but without the price tag.

Otherwise put together a box with Ryzen APUs (eg 3200G/2200G) for awesome value.

      • Thanks Luke. I will keep an eye on your account.
Is this possible to keep the same setup without GPU ?

    • Lightroom needs a bit of grunt. Which part are you wanting to downgrade?

      • It primarily be small edits and no batch work. So the processor graphics card and maybe ram. Maybe I should buy this and give my partner my Ryzen 7 1700x

    • +1

Funny, I was looking at this deal too, and the only thing I want the PC for is Lightroom. You're not my wife are you???? haha

    • if youre going to be using lightroom you don't want to downgrade from these parts.

  • +1

Any possible to have a no graphic card option?

    • No sorry. The 3500X doesn't have integrated graphics which has complications for a) stress testing here and b) end user modifications if installing their own GPU.

    • Damn, the only thing worth keeping on my current setup is my graphics card…

      • Yep. I am having the same situation…

  • Does basic B350 board support NVMe?

    • +1

      Yep.

    • Yeah second this, any details regarding the no name brand?

      • Posted below in separate comment

  • I've read that some people who have ordered these or similar systems in the past have ended up with 1660 Supers… What are the odds of that happening with this build?

    • Highly unlikely. We did upgrade some customers to Supers due to 1660 delays prior to Christmas, but supply is back online.

    • +1

/i was one of the lucky ones :D :D

      • +1

Also my windows came activated …

  • +12

Dear Techfast, please don't go out of business in the next 2-3 years. I need you for my next PC upgrade.

  • +2

For those wondering about brands etc, we generally do not specify on all components as we use a variety of different brands/models per component, but I can say that the B350 motherboard is the Biostar B45M2, 1660 likely from from Galax 1-click OC (the Super upgrade may vary), bundled RAM (model may vary but speed will be 2666MHz), and SSD, PSU (will not be the Aywun featured in Tech Yes City video) can vary but likely from Allied which have been our standard for over a year. The 750W 80+ Gold PSU is from Gigabyte or Deepcool. The Leaper Flair case comes with a 120mm intake fan and 80mm exhaust fan.

    • +1

      Can confirm :P
We got one of these from last deal
      PSU: Allied
      GPU: Galax
      MB: Biostar
Ram: G.Skill (we upgraded the speed)

      No wifi for us tho
      NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Great machine though and amazing price :P

      • Anyone had any negative experiences with buying these brands? These brands are the only reason why I'm nervous about buying now. Then again, that's probably why this is so cheap.

        • Negative feed back seems to get down voted by the fan boys, just look for all the neg'd comments.

    • Can you confirm what brand /model SSD you use?

      • Normally from Allied. A standard 2.5" SSD. Not a performance model.

        • Is this the same with the 1tb upgrade option?

  • Hi Luke is a 144hz monitor possible for a bundle?

  • I just ordered but I wanted to change the case and upgrade my SSD drive. Can I cancel my current order (refund this one) and put a new order in please?

  • @luketechfast

Any setup coming with Ryzen 9 3950X ?

    • Yes, but we're waiting on confirmation of availability on the CPU before launching the deal, which we haven't had yet. Super scarce still.

      • Sure, will look forward to it.

  • +1

I’d like to put my GTX 1070 in this case instead of the current offering.

Will the default case (Leaper Flair RGB) fit a GTX 1070?

Alternatively, would this (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/507749) deal be coming back? (Ryzen 7 3800X with RX 580 8GB)

    Thanks in advance!

    • +1

Yep, the Flair has been designed to fit almost any card on the market.

Can look at a 3800X with range of GPUs, assuming you're just looking for the lowest entry point GPU wise?

      • Thanks for responding so fast!

Yep, looking for lowest entry GPU so I can swap with my 1070

      • +1

        I'd possibly be interested in this also - I've got a 1080ti that I'd probably keep…

  • What does it mean by includes windows 10 but if you would like us to activate please select in the configuration process?

    • We install the Win 10 Home Operating System, graphics drivers and stress testing software (for testing, then it is removed). Activating Windows 10 to enable the full functionality is up to the customer - you can purchase a key from us, or elsewhere.

I still dream of the day that your discount code for a deal is TIGHTYWHITEYS

  • can this handle dota 2 and csgo max settings? and 240hz monitor?

    • i looked earlier for my son who is thinking about it . not sure how similar to these games my son might play but it met required spec for rainbow 6 and just made minimum for new call of duty .

      • just check i site i used for other games say for minimum requirements for csgo processor and RAm are 400% above and graphic card is 9400% above . dota came as ram 200% above ,processor is 1700% above minimum , graphics 4700% above . so should have no trouble with those games if im doing it right https://www.pcgamebenchmark.com/dota-2-system-requirements

edit and I only had RAm at 8gb not the 16gb in this deal

      • I got
This setup (1660 super though) and it runs every game so far in highest details (fortnite, Csgo) haven’t tried CoD mw yet

    • -1

No problem for dota 2. Unfortunately dota 2 is still in beta, so you'll still get in game crashes.

  • Would this edit 4k videos h.265 like a breeze?
