EVERYTHING IS SOLD OUT NOW

Not the best deal I'll admit, but vodafone are getting rid of their veryyy old stock.

This deal is more for those who dislike touch-screen phones, or prefer basic and simple phones.

Ends at the end of this month (30/11/11), free shipping on all phones and probably locked to vodafone.

Clearance phones include:

[SOLD OUT] Samsung C3050 (slide): $29 (was $59)

[SOLD OUT] Nokia 2330 (bar): $19 (was $59- it is $19 when adding to the cart despite it saying "now $9") [nevermind about their specs- they're wrong. see gsmarena

[SOLD OUT] Nokia 6210 Navigator (slide): $49 (was $99) [3.2 mp camera, GPS, downloadable maps, symbian (lololol)]

[SOLD OUT] Alcatel OT-355 (qwerty): $9 (was $29) [at $9 for a qwerty phone it would be great as a disposable phone!]

as identified by greenpossum and King Tightarse, this phone can be unlocked for free on the Vodafone Self-Service Unlocking page. A similar deal has also come up on OzBargain in the past, but with a free backpack

Again, as mentioned this is not suitable for most people- mostly those who are non-touch screen users- especially with Android phones now being ridiculously cheap.

No idea how much stock is left either- the Motorola Flipout is already sold out. Get in quick is my suggestion!

Last I checked Android, iOS and WP7 weren't available on non-touch screen phones. Doesn't leave any other really good options out there…

    • +6

Yes. Because the people who are looking at a $9 disposable phone are sooo picky about what operating system it runs.

    • +7

this is not suitable for most people- mostly those who are non-touch screen users

      • +4

these phones are better in terms of battery life for those who need just texting and phone calls

  • +4

"would be great as a disposable phone" - what on earth is a disposable phone?!

    • +22

it's the phone you use in ransoms/kidnappings/extortions/bomb threats etc.

drop it in your nearest mobile muster box when you'
      re done

There are many instances where a person or persons may want to dispose of their phone quickly and easily, and may include:

      1. Swimming and phone gets water-logged
      2. Clubbing and phone gets beer-logged
      3. Phone hacking and phone gets voicemail-logged
      4. Sexting and phone gets wife-logged
      • That has got to be the funniest thing I've read all week, thank you!

    • When I was in the US for a week, there was a samsung phone for $9.99 that included $10 credit - that charger alone will cost $10 buck - now that was a great disposable phone!

  • +1

The Alcatel has appeared in OzBargain before:

Looks like the backpack was better value than the phone. :)

The link to self-service unlocking may be useful.

    • Ah good spot!

Never heard of Ritchies supermarkets before, and with good reason- none even remotely close to me!

Adding the link to self-service unlocking in the description :)

      • Nice! Picked up a couple :)

    • I bought 3 at $14.50 each with great backpack that sells for twice that. Phone works well (better than my Nokia) & now have plenty of spare parts (wired headsets for its MP3 player - miniUSB connector, batteries, chargers). Easy to unlock for free on above link. I pack 2 of them on overseas trips.
Local Ritchies in Brissie still has this $14.50 phone & backpack deal (checked 2 weeks back).

Comeon guys, if you don't want these then find another deal.
There's plenty of deals I'm completely not interested in, or even a little disgusted by, but I wouldn't bad mouth them.

  • just ordered one, need a cheapie phone for my other number. thank you OP.

P.S. I am unable to vote for some reason on my home computer, anyone knows why? I've tried both IE and Firefox.

  • got 2 cheapies. Thanks. Good for mum and dad. Or overseas trips if you can unlock them.

  • is the nokia 2330 locked to vodafone?

  • Nokia 6210 has a flash!
Camera- 3.2MP, 4x digital zoom, integrated (LED) flash,
    FM Radio
    But i don't think it's 3G so the C2-01 would be a better buy for $4.00 more.

  • so… is the nokia 2330 $19 or $9? Says its $9 now, but shows up as $19 in the shopping cart.

    • yeah, i also got confused

      • its $19 not $9 despite what it says

it seems that the people at vodafone that make these deals/webpages dont have the best maths

        CLEARANCE - was $59, now $9. Save $19.

        yeah right….. 59-9=19…

        • $19 is still pretty cheap.

        • only if its can be unlock free

    • for the free shipping and $9 Alcatel, though other than that there really aren't sny compelling bargains here. You can regularly get cheap prepaid phones around he $20 mark these days.
  • Shame the moto is sold out.

  • Gosh. Cheap. I need one to use when I go to Asia for a month. I will be buying a simcard over there anyway and I wouldn't be too bothered if I got pick pocketed.

    • You might want to consider buying cheapy phones over there (as long as not afraid of getting ripped off). Problem with phones like these is they tend not to be able to display characters from other languages like Chinese. Even if you can't read the language yourself, if you're getting messages you're out of credit, etc. you can get a guide/local/friend to translate for you (as long as they can see the characters).

Otherwise, you will just get a bunch of [][][][][] boxes instead of text.

      • Checked $9 Alcatel OT-355 - European languages only.

The $9 Alcatel, comes with $10 credit doesn't it? is it still possible to take the unopened starter credit packs to a vodafone store and get a $10 refund?

  • cant find the alcatel one?

  • Does the $9 Alcatel do push emails? :-)

  • Crap I bought the 2330 based on their specs which said 3.2M camera and GPS. Not even close!!
Hopefully at least I can unlock it for free.

    • Is this why it was sold out so quickly?

    • Yeahh I was about to buy it too but was very skeptical about the specs listed. Noticed that when you go into the description it mentions VGA camera so had a check of gsmarena.

Hopefully Vodafone will acknowledge the error and offer refunds? I'm sure heaps of people bought the phone thinking they were getting some pretty good specs for the price and is most likely why it sold out so quickly

    Step 1: Buy All Phones
    Step 2: List on Ebay
    Step 3: Profit

    • With $9 phones, can't imagine it would even be worth the postage unless you get some crazy mark-up.

      • Mark them up to $30, i've seen some of these phones selling there abouts.

  • Tried to place order but the webpage gone to blank, refresh and it says the price is 0, none item is in the order?

    • If this happened after you finished the order and paid, then check your email inbox. It had shown my receipt as blank prices on the website, but I received the real receipts via email.

      • ^ I got the money debited out of my card but didn't get an email receipt.

        • Weird, because I received the email receipt nearly instantly (with my optusnet email address).

        • Finally got my confirmation email, more than 24hrs later. Please post when you guys get yours delivered. Thanks.

    • I also got blank screen but did get the emailed invoice.

  • Voda online system is a bit of a joke. Pot luck is the best way to describe. I ordered the pocket wifi (ozb deal), never received and was told that the order was magically cancelled. Couldn't be bothered re-ordering. Today I ordered a Nokia and got the blank screen + 2 confirmation emails. I'm not holding my breath. We'll see.

    • Yeah the site is a joke even when you are not ordering. I clicked on one of the tabs to see more details about a handset and got an error page. Later on it worked. So I'm not surprised by all the hit and miss behaviour people have experienced.

    • ^ Got worried after reading this post so I called them. They told me that I should wait 24hrs for a confirmation email. I also got the blank screen, so I do not even have a transaction reference number. Grr.

  • only the 6210 Navigator and the Samsung are left.

  • Samsung C3050 - FINAL STOCK
    Colour:Black $29.00
    Prepaid Starter Pack -
    Vodafone for Me Discount -
    Sub Total $24.07
    (including GST of) $2.19
    Total Payment (inc. GST) $24.07

    • What is the promo code for "Vodafone for me"?

    • LG Optimus One has the same price but doubled RAM to 512MB (but less ROM), other specifications are same.
And Optimus One has unofficial Cyanogenmod support.
But X3 has the hat and sunnies, so X3 win!

      • The only good about it is it comes with face camera but not sure whether it will work will skype or not.

  • festival phone!

  • gud one bought a couple!!

  • Are Vodafone are joke or what, purchased a 6210 on Sunday, got an email after a few minutes, tried to track my order via web site, and continues to come up with "We are unable to track your order at this time"!!!! How long do they usually take before they ship?

    • Some time 2 days, most of the time 12 days given my experience.

I already got the phones from this order, take 3 days from placing order.

But, both orders including the no confirmation email one been processed, and now I have more phones than I need… crab

      • Got my phones today.

  • I placed my order on 27 Nov. Now my order status on VF website is "We are unable to advise you of your order status at this time, please try again later. "

    Is this a joke?

  • Any one wants the Nokia 6210 Navigator for $49 please contact me, as I have duplicate phones now, crab vodafone ordering system.

  • +1

I'm in the same boat as ddhytz, I placed my order last Sunday avo. Check your ccard. I'm been billed twice for the 6210. But still haven't received the phone and also get the "We are unable to advise you of your order status at this time, please try again later. " Tried calling vodafone, told, can't track your order, wait another 48 hours and ring again.

  • +1

I have not received my order yet. Almost forgot about it.

  • +1

lol same here. Vodafone is SH!T!! I don't think I'll ever buy anything from them again.
Ordered a modem, didn't get charged, and mysteriously my order got cancelled even though I had received a comfirmation email. Ordered one of the above phones and did get charged this time + confirmation BUT no phone no tracking info no nothing. I can't be bothered calling and being bounced around with these tossers. I'll just inform the CC company and reverse the charge.

    • +1

Yeah. I hate dealing with Vodafone. No customer service at all.

  • Recieved my Nokia 2330c last week, good little phone for the price.

  • +2

no phone, ordered 27th, no order status, vodafone really is as bad as everyone says. never again!

    • In the same boat. I called them up twice, the first time they said their website wasn't working. Call back in 4 - 24 hours. Then second time they said my order wasn't charged and that there should be a refund for it in my bank statement. Guess what? There wasn't. Not even so much as a confirmation email when I ordered. Srsly… Vodafail….

      • so they're just not honouring the orders? I did get an order confirmation, but its just on order processing. do you think i should call up and ask for a refund or will i eventually get a phone?

        • I'm honestly not quite sure. I'm sure since you got an order confirmation then your order should be fine. Me on the other hand, the Vodafone website just doesn't like me and chooses to never send a confirmation email or even show up an order number that I can use. I'd possibly call them to double check on your order as you have a confirmation number. I'm sure you'll receive yours eventually. But if you can't wait then I think best bet is to demand a refund.

The previous order I made for the Cloud INQ Touch (Red) last time went through fine despite the lack of a confirmation email. However, this time I don't know…. Blargh…. Not bothered to waste my holidays trying to get through Vodafone Customer Service being on hold.

Today is the 19th. OF DECEMBER. I ordered on the 27th November and still no $49 Nokia 6210. I have rung up 5 times and 5 times been told it should be on the way but in 48 hours someone will get back to me to explain what is going on. I'm not holding my breath but they have my $49 :(

    • +1

Same here. I ordered on the 27th of november, rung up a few times and were told someone will get back to me within 48 hours. Never got the call and today is 23th of DECEMBER. It was as a christmas gift too =/

      VODAFONE, you guys are terrible.

  • +1

I negged this deal because it was such a rort as per many unsatisfied people

    VODAFONE YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

  • +1

STILL NOTHING! even contacted the rep on here :@

  • Ordered the Alcatel OT-355 on Nov 27. No delivery yet (Today is Jan 6). Original page said 2-3 days for delivery. Online status says 2-3 days for delivery and "order being processed". Did not get anywhere calling and speaking to the off-shore call centre multiple times. Have had enough and initiated a charge-back with the credit card company for the money they charged me on Nov 27. It's a cliche, but VodaFAIL and neg for the Vodafone online store. Anyone else waiting for their phone?

    • Update: Got a call from "escalations department" at Vodafone. No stock and none coming in the future. Order to be cancelled (I have already got my money from bank chargeback). What a waste of time and effort for all involved including me. Could have indicated unavailable on website at the time of ordering rather than delivers in 1-2 days. Also charging my credit card straight away rather than when the product ships is a negative. A sorry saga that I'd rather forget. Gives me no confidence in the Vodafone online store and certainly wouldn't inspire me to order anything from them in the future of value.
