$89 MASH Helicopter Flight Brisbane CBD

130

Front row seating for all passengers.
Doors off - open air - a true magic carpet ride. No other helicopter comes close to this.
12 min flight (time in air) Archerfield to Southbank, West End and loads more. More like 20min with engine warm up etc.
You will never get a ride like this, this cheaply again!

Price is per person. Both passengers sit together at front. No other helicopter type offers this.

Note, single riders - we only fly with both seats occupied so you will be wait listed waiting for another person. This can be unreliable at times. So best for everybody if you dare/talk a friend into coming and you will get a flight day/time confirmed with ease.

Flights available wed/fri/sat/sun until 31Dec2011. No rides in 2012 at this price.

The Bell 47G is still the only helicopter that offers completely unrestricted visibility for each passenger due to its cavernous 'bubble' cockpit window. CASA approved owner/pilot with more than 25 years flying experience.
Gift Vouchers available. You can also use the online booking form.
Call your pilot Andy on 0466 623 434 or eMail [email protected] to arrange a flight.
We are a fully insured commercial helicopter company registered with CASA employing trained, experienced pilots.

      Dan76n,
Everybody that has flown with me has been very happy with the customer service.
We have gone to great pains to match up individual customers with others but all too frequently find that one of the two individuals calls us to cancel or doesn't turn up which causes great difficulty when these discounted flights are reliant on two paying passengers. Hence we encourage people to manage their own flight partner.
I am an enthusiast who owns this helicopter and it is run at a personal loss. I.e. All flights are subsidized by me!
I would appreciate it if you would remove your post as it's the first one and I think it is unfair.

        fair point bell47,
maybe with an attitude like that dan76n doesn't have any friends left that he could ask????
anyway if he shows up alone, get him to pay extra for the empty seat at "got no mates rates" ha ha…

i have flown in one of those "bubble" choppers, doing search/rescue for offshore power boat racing….an exillerating experience to say the least.

      • Andy,
Sorry if my post seems unfair but when I read your comment re it being a chore to match people up I felt this was very customer unfriendly, hence my response. It was an actual put off to me regardless of if that was your intention or not and that's being honest.
I understand where you are coming from and am happy to remove it but don't seem to be able to edit. Maybe the mods can?

  • Looks like this might be around half the normal price. Do you have any restrictions on when you will take people who accept this discounted price … or more to the point, when you WON'T take them?

    • ?

      • If there are a couple of flights worth I'll take it out the hangar and fly it any daylight hour 7 days per week! If you have a couple of acres I'll bring it to you BBQ for rides from your garden for all your mates!

Do they play the theme music during the flight?

    • +3

Passengers are free to hum the theme tune!

      • I'll hum the airwolf tune.

    Hi Geewhiz,
I try to group flights together performing one on every half hour.
So I fly them Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday's starting from 10am each day.

    • Yep from being called from the reception area, going flying, to departing reception takes 30minutes. It's not a sausage factory - we don't hot load people like at air shows.

  • Not really a MASH helicopter, as the 47G-5A was produced in 1972-3, some 20 years after the ceasefire in Korea, but it would still be an awesome experience.

"More like 20min with engine warm up etc"

    Awesome selling point.. tumbleweed

    Not a bad price though.

You also get a pre-flight briefing and a tour of the hangar and photos with multi million dollar helicopters. You might even spot celebs passing through. I flew Phil Collins a little while back!

It's the same Bell 47 type albeit the latest G model. The model that flew in the Korean conflict B or H? had a single saddle fuel tank, wooden blades and a Franklin engine but otherwise identical. This latest model has two fuel tanks, metal blades and a more modern and more powerful Lycoming engine. It's very strongly built. Not to mention leather seats and the best visibility of ANY aircraft ever built.

    • Korean War model was the 47D, also known to the US Army as the H-13 Sioux.

The 47G was in production for more than 20 years. It was the last model with the open tail boom. A truly remarkable design.

  • Do you do night flights?

    • Only if the radar malfunctions.

    • No - the helicopter is not equipped with an artificial horizon instrument.
We can do flights up until legal dark which is approx. 10mins after sunset.
That's a really nice time to fly with all the lights of the city and suburbs. Shame there can be only one dusk flight per day!
