I cancelled mine a week ago and still got it. Thanks OP

  • Why is all the books $0 on the Audible site??

    • +2

Every book is $0 when you first sign up. Once you redeem your freebie/s the prices that apply from that time appear.

  • Cancelled membership a month ago. Not getting this offer. Maybe it's time to create a new account.

    • +3

Once you cancel an Audible subscription they will keep sending you offers to entice you back. I am up to 70% off for 3 months valid till October 2021 so no rush. I just wait till I have an Audible book I want.

      • When you cancel do you lose any existing account credits? Or can I use them after cancelling the recurring subscription?

Edit: I decided not to be super lazy and googled - Looks like you still lose them.

        • +1

Yep make sure you use them on the books you want or they will expire. That's why I only subscribe when I know I have books to use the credits on.

I got the offer on a cancelled account, at check out it said I'm signing up for 50 percent off for six months, but it ended up charging me the full amount.

Phoned the support centre and they tried advising me it's for new customers only, but I had a screenshot of check out saying it's 50 percent off for six months and they have honoured it.

So if you are a returning member please take screenshots.

    • I'm the same but was charged half-price.

      • Mobile or PC? mine stuffed up on mobile.

    • same here had the message at top of checkout, so proceeded but charged full price… Will contact customer support now and see how it goes

      • Call, I've had more luck in the past calling over raising a ticket.

        • yeah I should have, they're now "forwarding my query to a specialist team"… so now I'll be stuck in an email loop haha

Support centre was great for me, within 30 seconds they refunded the $16.45, gave me a month free and then 6 months of $8.23 through til Jun ‘21

  • it picks up that I am a returning customer. If I visit the link in an inprivate browsing I can see the offer. the moment I sign in the offer disappears.

Aww wish this included past members

    • +1

      It did for me

  • Shame that they only target new users.

    • I just happened to be canceling my membership and they asked why and when I selected too expensive they gave me a this deal for 3 months. Might be worth a shot.

      • Will I get the 1/2 price for 3 months offer if I cancel my trial?

  • +1

Tried it incognito mode and it works. It did say I'll be getting 6 months at 50%. However, I've paid now and its charged me $16.45.

    • +1

Sorted by calling them. Ended up getting $8 per month for first 6 months (plus 1 month free)

      • How? Are you a returning customer like the above post? Thanks.

        • +1

          Yep.

          • @imaxsameer: What did you say, in order to convince them to give or to you?
I'm actually okay w them not giving it now. If it's for new users, it's for new users. Just curious I guess.

            • @YellowHouse: I wasn’t a new user. I was an existing user but I had cancelled my membership more than 6 mths ago. Signing up to this deal via Incognito mode in Chrome, worked for me. However, when I was still charged $16.45 a month, I called them and they said because you have already paid one month, we will provide it to you $8 per month for the next 6 months after the one month you have already paid for. Also, they refunded the one month I paid at full price, but they it didn’t affect my membership, so essentially I got the first month free.

              • @imaxsameer: Awesome. Thanks for that. I guess it's the not being a member for 6 months that was the policy(?).
Thanks for nutting it out for me :)

                • @YellowHouse: No I don’t believe so, I was just giving some context that I was not a new user to Audible nor am I existing because I didn’t have an active membership.

  • Thanks OP

    So $8 per book?

  • they tend to give out a lot of freebies, bear in mind before you commit

    • I just love audible, but I end up spending too much on these books :/

I'm at about 8 titles since I joined last year and only paid half price when signing up. I keep receiving emails saying come back for a 30 day trial with 1 free credit. Take up the offer then cancel again. Also noticed when you click cancel and choose its too expensive they will 1/2 price for 3 months.

    • Yep depends how many u listen to, you can get several for free or just a few bucks

    • +1

      Your Audible titles: 1530
I seem to be liking it!

  • +2

I haven't had a membership for 6 months + but didn't get the offer. Sucks to be me.

  • Unfortunately not a new member but would recommend Audible and people to try this out.

A wealth of knowledge still accessible for when you don't have time to sit down and read print.

  • How much worse is audible Au than Us?

    • I don't think that there is any difference

  • Has this now expired? The OP link just takes me to a standard Audible page with no mention of this deal.
