    This or the kingston a2000?

Real world usage will be basically identical and both will be great for most users.
Performance wise they are both a step up from a Crucial P1/Intel 660p, but a level below something like the 970 Evo.

a2000 is faster at the first 300GB as it has approx 150GB SLC cache, but after the usage of 80% (like if you install 10 games or more) its speed might drop to 550m/s while SN550 can still be at 800-1000M/s (but might take up to 3GB of your ram as cache)

Even cheaper at $135.48 if you select the same item from Amazon UK.

Buy both, use the AU one which delivers Monday, return the UK one as AU one for that sweet $7.

  • Realistically there isn't a great advantage of the Evo over this as just an OS/games drive right?

    • For the usage you described this or the A2000 would both be great.
The 970 Evo pulls away in large long-duration file transfers, but most people would never see that benefit in their normal usage!

      • The very first time someone transfers their files :P. But then it would be limited by the older drive, especially if it was a hdd.

        • Exactly right!

  • Don't forget Cashback!!! Cashrewards still has 4% off personal computing!

  • How does the WD Black SN750 compare to 970 Evo?

I'm super tempted to buy this drive from Amazon UK… But will it be even cheaper next week?! The decisions!

    • If you don't need it now, hold out. That's what I'm doing. Ssd/nvme seems to be getting cheaper and cheaper anyway even if they're not going to be on black Friday /cyber Monday sale.

  • I bought the SN550 from Amazon UK. Thanks OP. Used cashrewards and discounted giftcard balance…
Maybe people don't like ordering from Amazon UK; but I believe this drive is just as good as the Kingston A2000; and it is slightly cheaper than the current Centrecom deal.

  • can you install two of these on your motherboard?
