If you can get your hands on a second hand play 3, much better than the one or one SL
I have the soundbase and opted for 2 x play 3 and havent looked back (bought them for $150 each on fb marketplace and they replaced my old play 1's)

Play:3's are in high demand and so very hard to find
They are one of the best speakers in the previous gen.
If you want stereo sound on a budget, then 2 play3's are better than one play5, unless you have $1200 to fork out , id rather have 2 play3's for around the $300 markI believe post above means as they are better options as surrounds. you dont need airplay if they are just surrounds for your soundbar/soundbase. Also Play 3's do work with S2 as per Sonos' website. You may be thinking of first gen Play 5

Not if you using Sonos 5. It has stereo but not as fuller sound than two Sonos One/SL. Same goes to beam and arc, not as wide profile.

That would be a fair choice.
Bass will be a bit average as the only catch but you have the option of adding the sub later if you change your mind.
You'll just need an appropriately positioned power point for the surrounds

Has anyone received their Sonos One SL (white) yet? I ordered on 22/11/20 & have been getting emails that Video Pro have no stock & neither do Sonos Australia. They are “hopeful” that sufficient stock to honour sales will arrive before end of the year, but the wording in the email hints to me that this may not be the case for some customers.
You should be fine,since you locked in the great price. It might just take longer to arrive. Prices have gone up for all models. I was after a black Beam and JB has been out of stock online and in-store (VIC) since 26/11 and they have no ETA about restock as well. So stock shortage looks like a reality now.
Well, keep an eye on Amazon or Sonos website. They should have stock and sales going until end of Xmas. Cancel VideoPro is you can find better price and faster shipping, normally VideoPro get their stock from Sonos pretty late.
Sonos One (Gen 2) is $220 (RRP $299) too.
