I was thinking of buying these but I really don't want to buy more things randomly… TT_TT

  • It might sound a stupid question but I am new to these cards stuff. Can someone please explain what is it and how to use it?

    • +1

Purchase various GC's during these special offers. The points you receive give you a discount when you use the cards. You can usually get from 5-20% discount. Check that the cards have not been tempered with - there have been rare cases of fraud. Be careful to follow all the conditions to ensure you earn the points. Treat the GC's like cash. Read current and past threads on these card deals and you will get all the info you need. Look at Prezzee as well but be wary of TCN. Coles have a good deal starting Wednesday.

  • Will have to make another trip to woolies later. I didn't see this one come up and only went to coles.

  • Have two woolies in my area. Main one was already out of stock of the eBay ones. Second one had mostly $50 ones, only a handful of $100 ones left so better be quick!

    • $50 cards get 1000 points?

      • +1

        yep, I can confirm that

      • Shld get going by the previous wooly promos.

    • Saw someone restocking the cards as I was leaving so probs worth it to recheck or ask assistants about more stock if you don't see any on the shelf :)

  • +2

can also use the points for filling up at woolies / eg petrol stations. Good as dollar off for me.

  • Just wanna to sure. Anyone kind to tell me 2000 Points per reward account or per transaction or per card?

    • Per card. The points show up on their display even before you pay so you can always ask them to confirm the amount. That's what I did.

      • Thank you for your reply. Gonna make a trip to woodies soon. Hope some left.

    • 2000 points per $100 card. Maximum 10 cards in one transaction ie 20,000 points

      • But can do multiple transactions if i want $2000?

        • +1

If they allow it, otherwise just visit another store

  • I can confirm the celebration swap $50 for eBay will earn 1000 RP.. hard to find stock though, had to visit a few Woolies on the Gold Coast.

  • Yes! I have a PS5 waiting for pick up so I will buy $500 worth of EB Games vouchers :)

  • Where was this found? Any official link I can see?

    • Was included in the weekly catalogue, that's where the screenshot is from.

  • Thanks, bought 2x $50 and 1x $100. 4000 points added (one transaction)

  • +2

Coles seems to be getting all the attention. Whilst this one is flying under the radar.

    • 15% instant money back, vs 9.09% rewards dollars.

  • So you can just buy all the cards in one transaction? For example, if you purchase 5 cards in one transaction, you would receive 5×2000 points 10,000 points? Or do you have to split the cards one per transaction?

    • Yep, you can buy up to 10 and get all the points in one transaction. No need to split

      • I don’t get buy the 10 max if $100 when can go 9 X $100 and 1 x $50 ( below 1K )and not get the input biz # that can draw Manager heat !

        • What heat? You can't pay with e-gift cards anymore and you're not doing anything wrong. You're just maximising you're savings by taking advantage of a promo they have.

          • @Cousin IT: $1000 is fine, $1000.01 is how much you trigger the “manager menu”

  • Can Wish e gift cards be used to pay for these Swap cards?

    • +3

      Nope

  • Is this in-store only?

  • Plenty of stock and unlike the mayhem at Coles (TCN card promotion)!

  • Wow anyone with access to a staff card get a further 5% off on top of the 1000 points/$50. I just bought 10 $50 card for $475 and 10000 points

    • :O

    • Can you use many of these gift cards to buy a large item on eBay?

      • +1

Restrictions 6 - No more than a total of $1,500 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per transaction, no more than a total of $2,000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per day, and no more than a total of $5,000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per calendar month. Further, you may only redeem a maximum of eight Gift Cards in any single transaction (and fewer if you are redeeming Gift Cards in combination with other redemption codes, such as coupons or vouchers).

So only up to $1500 items.

Theoretically, if you have a free listing and zero selling fees you can sell "stuff" to someone you know and get free money this way.

          That's really confusing

        • +4

Really the limit is $800 as a max of 8 gift cards. And more likely $700 as the voucher code you use counts as one of the 8.

          • @kulprit: Crap that there's a huge cap if you already have coupon

    • +1

Yes giftcards purchase enjoys staff discount at woolies but not bigw. Enjoy while it lasts!

~~I'm trying to apply the codes to my eBay purchase (after swapping of course), is anyone having issues?
I keep getting: "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."~~
Edit: HA, i was using the wrong number.

    • +4

      Only use PIN

      • +1

I feel dumb but I do love you now.

  • Can you use multiple of this to buy a large item off eBay?

    • +1

Yes you can, I ended up using 8 x $100.

My local Woolworths were really caring and kept asking a fellow OzBer and I if we were getting scammed.

      • Someone commented that max you can use is 5

      • Oh gosh then that's really hard to tell how many cards you should buy. eBay days this then says that.

  • Anyone in Sydney region found these? Apparently "no stock" in 15 stores around me (the staff said they've never seen these before and we're still waiting to receive)

    • +1

Yes, i got some in Ashfield and Marrickville Metro. There are plenty of $50 cards, no $100 denomination though.

I got the last 4 $100 at Marrickville Metro and the staff there told me that someone came in and bought 30 of them.

      • I bought 10X $50 cards from Chullora. No $100 ones left. Coles didn't have any of the TCN cards.

    $100 Swap Celebration Gift Cards
Springwood QLD - Out of Stock. $50 Available.
Underwood QLD - Out of Stock. $50 Available.
Upper Mount Gravatt QLD (Garden City) - 8 left as at 7.18pm 25-11-2020.

    • What is the maximum number of Swap cards you can use on eBay?

    • +2

      sorry. found the answer above.

  • +1

Was at Camberwell, VIC around 7:30pm, and plenty of $100 and $50 cards.

  • Only found 2 * 100 and 3 * 50, better than nothing.

  • Bought 4x$50. Combined with 2% HSBC (debit card) discount, a total of $24 saved. Thanks OP! Lots of Swap gift cards in Woolworths stores in Perth north btw.

    • I thought you only get bonus points for the $100 card

      • HSBC 2% is only valid for purchase up to $99.99. Too many splits void the benefit, may also trigger a decline. Zip 3% is far better, not to say CC pts on top of it.

        • That is why I bought $50 cards.

      • +1

Some people here have reported the $50 card gives you 1000 bonus points. When you scan the card at checkout you can see straightaway what points you get on the screen.

        • They do - it is in the physical catalogue as well. I got 1000 points for each $50 card.

  • Can I use these gift cards to pay the remaining balance ($549) for my Xbox preorder at EB Games?

  • I got a couple of these to pay for Kayo for the next 12 months. I have logged on and converted them and got the egift card number. When i enter into Kayo it gives me an HTTP error. I am on a $15 per month Telstra plan but i can't see any term or condition that excludes paying with gift cards.

Anyone been able to successfully redeem a Kayo card with the $15 per month Telstra plan?

    • I've had the exact same problem with kayo. Have you had any luck through support?

      • Not yet. I raised a ticket on the weekend and followed them up today. They are "still investigating".

        • Cheers. I've been dealing with them on Twitter, similar in that I haven't had any resolution. Getting annoying, only bought this to have enough credit over the summer and be "stress free" about another recurring streaming service payment. Bah

          • @BugsBunnyAUS: Any luck? I have followed up a couple of times but no response now.

            • @cnrmlj: Pretty much just holding station. They asked for a bunch of details and said they would be in touch when they have a resolution.

            • +3

@cnrmlj: I just tried the gift card again for kicks and it worked! Give yours a go, hopefully it works for you too :)

              • +2

@BugsBunnyAUS: Cheers. Just did it in response to you update and it worked. I had 2 and both now applied.

    • +1

Same issue here (HTTP error). Have raised it with both Swap and Kayo. Swap just handballed it off saying to contact Kayo. Kayo have escalated to their technical team. Will post when I get a resolution.

      • Any luck?

    • Same as others have noted. Tried the gift card again and it worked finally.

  • so, if people are buying these gift cards
and getting the 2000 points , what can the WW points be useful for ?

i never liked collecting WW Rewards Points.

    • +3

You can either transfer them to Qantas Frequent Flyer points (2000 points -> 1000 QFF points), or use them as dollars off your shopping at Woolies (2000 points -> $10 off your shop).

      • ah, i get it now.
buying enough gift cards, to give you 'discounts' somewhere else
( because the points are what you end up with )

        OK. Got it !

        • +3

You can also use them at the WW petrol stations.

  • Has anyone had issues with the listed vendors? I purchased the adventure and leisure one to use at Anaconda but it doesn't come up as an option when I try to redeem (only 4 of the 8 vendors do). I've contacted them but no response yet. I would rather pay normally now so to not miss the sale but Woolies can't refund the card.

  • The lower SES areas seem to have the most remaining.

I bought over 15 $50 ones across 4 stores but the fifth store had a stack of over 50 $100 ones …

  • Also for Swap Adventure & Leisure cards as well: ALL (Accor Live Limitless), Webjet, Drummond Golf, Sofitel, Novotel, ibis, adrenaline and Anaconda

And the Binge card are in the same promotion.

  • Has anyone who has swapped their card for an ebay voucher been able to use it? I get "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again." when I enter the code from the voucher at checkout.

    • +1

nevermind, used the PIN instead as mentioned above

  • Is it to be bought in woolies or online ? Can't find anything oline.

    • +1

      In store only.

  • Do you need to scan your everyday rewards card at the store while buying these to activate it?

    • +1

Not required for activation but for accumulation of points. How else will they credit the points ?

  • Does the $10 (2000 points) apply at checkout and discount it straightaway? i.e $100 => $90

Or can you only use it next time?

    • It displays but only load after the transaction.

  • Urgh missed this :(
