These things are amazing. I purchased them about 6 months ago from JB HiFi - the instore manager gave them to me for $222 and I thought that was a fabulous bargain. This price is excellent. I have both the Sony true wireless earphone and these, and I rate these just as good as the Sony phones.

  • Does Officeworks or JB hi-fi price match this?

    • +2

Jbhifi has this for the same price tomorrow for the black Wednesday/Friday sale.

  • +3

Thanks, OP! They are also offering the Elite Actives in Navy for $229, which is what Officeworks is offering too :) I just picked up a pair.

    • +1

is there any other difference between the two besides the water proof rating?

      • +1

Yep, I think you're right. No other difference.

    • Thanks! GG commercial had it at that price a few days ago, but they took it down!

Needed a new replacement as my current jaybirds buttons no longer work after 4 years!

      • Oh damn!
You missed out on the awesome Tgg commercial price. They had the 85t for only extra $40 more, so $240.

    • Thanks mate, good price for active. I believe the lowest its ever been?

    • Thanks, got the Elite Actives

  • +1

Are these good for calls or joining meetings?

    • +4

Yeah the mic on these are (imo) best in class - you'd be hard pressed to find another product at this price that isolates or cancels background noises around you so your voice is clear on calls.

I also have the Galaxy Buds (Gen 1), Xiaomi Airdots, and JBL Reflect Flow and the mic is nowhere near as good as the Jabra.

    • +2

I used Jabra 75 Evolve's for work and can recommend Jabra as a brand - rock solid call connectivity and noise cancelling.

  • +5

I bought these in Dec-2019 from JB Hi Fi and I'm on my 3rd pair (warranty claims).

After a few months, the left earbud does this funny thing where after being on for 15mins, the audio slowly fades and gets really quiet.

I've tried firmware updates, resetting the earbuds, removing the device from my phone/laptop and it doesn't fix it, so warranty claim worked.

Apart from that, sound and mic are amazing and would highly recommend them - $200 is a no brainer.

[edit] did not realise the 75t was Noise Cancelling…i THINK that might only be during calls. For playing music, I didn't think it had ANC. The 85t has ANC though.

I believe the 75t got given ANC via a firmware update when the 85t came out. Not sure on limitations.

      • omg I just checked the app and it's there!! :O

    • +1

Exact same issue with my ones, just ordered my first warranty claim. Quite frustrating given that they are such good earphones.

  • Tempted, but am hoping for an 85t black friday deal!

    • Whats major difference in this and 85t?

      • +1

Not a huge difference from what I have read. Better ANC, wireless charging, semi-open/in ear design, 85t slightly larger and have oval shaped tips.

The 85t's were on special for ~$240 through GG commercial on the weekend, so if BF deals can come close to that it may be worth the extra money.

        • Hardware vs. Software ANC.
        • Qi charging
    • I had the 75t bu they hurt my ears after an hour or so of wearing them. Wonder if these will suit my ears better…

      • Yeah I have issues with in-ear for any prolonged periods as well, so hoping the 85t might be good. Have a read of the reviews, they seem to suggest a less intrusive feel, but not to the point of falling out.

  • I got a pair of these from the qantas store deal posted earlier this year. On the whole, worth it - especially at this price. Awesome form factor, solid sound (great bass), good app (with EQ etc), decent controls and the recent firmware update for ANC was a bonus (even if not as good as Elite 85t apparently). Calls seem fine. Only comment on music sound qual from A-B testing with eg Bose Soundsports wireless is that I find the mids/vocals a bit recessed/not as forward - can be addressed somewhat with the EQ.

  • +1

    These or Sony WF-1000XM3?

    • Sony will have better ANC with a dedicated processor.

Jabra have Bluetooth multipoint, which allows for multiple simultaneous connections.

      • +2

        I care firstly about sq.

  • Thanks been waiting for a good price on these for a month or so, looks like they get my business ahead of the JB sale!

    • +2

      classic Amazon move!

  • I want a pair, but not sure I'd get enough use from the!

  • +5

FYI, if your company is part of the Friends of Jabra EPP Program, you can get them for $179.40 shipped

    • +1

How to check if the company is part of the program ? Do they have a list ?

      • I don't think there's a list, so probably your best bet is attempting to register using your work email address and seeing if it goes through

        • +2

ta. Checked not available for me :P

  • +1

Picked up the Elite Active 75t for $229.
The waterproof rating and better tactile feel is worth the extra $30 for me.

    • you reckon you can wear em while swimming in a pool?

    • +1

I've put mine (non- Active) through the washing machine twice and they still work fine!

  • I picked these up for $208 in early October. Pretty good set, I use them fairly regularly. Small enough to carry around with me when I'm out and about. They do occasionally have Bluetooth drop out issues, so they aren't perfect.

I particularly like them because I can use with both my laptop and my phone simultaneously.

Recent firmware update also enabled software driven active noise cancellation. Works "ok" but can't hold a candle to my WH-1000XM2.

    • I have the WH-1000XM2's as well for myself. The Elite Active 75t for the missus.
I'm considering upgrading from the XM2's soon as they are getting a bit out dated tech wise.. wouldn't mind the XM4's for their multi device support, lighter and better feel on the head. Summing it all up though.

  • As good as Apple AirPods Pro for calls?

  • What's the soundpeats equivalent of this for the OzBargain budget concious amongst us?

    • Soundpeats trueshift 2 or the soundpeats truengine 3 se would be the pick and around $60 as for noise cancellation i am unsure sorry.

  • +2

These are great earbuds! Great bass, sound quality, fit and call quality. They support multipoint so can swap between phone and computer easily. They have been upgraded to support ANC. I have the Active and they are worth the extra if you can afford it, the surface coating feels better, the sound profile is slightly better and they have greater water proofing. The case is magnetic and small so I take them everywhere, except to bed that would be weird….

  • Do these have loops like the jaybird vistas (which incidentally are meant to be just as good/better)?

  • I have the Elite Active 75t. Word of warning the bluetooth dropouts are real and can be very annoying. Sometimes they work perfectly for long periods. Other times I have multiple dropouts over a mintue or two.

Found the best way to prevent dropouts is to hold my mobile in hand while listening. As soon as the mobile gets in my pocket dropouts can occur.

Have already RMA'd once because of this but not much changed with the new pair.

Otherwise they are fantastic but these dropouts are a killer.

    • Yeah that's useless if can't have your phone in pocket.
It's not often I need portables but one half decent pair that Work be ok

    • @Trawler Even after the firmware update ?

      • Yup even after latest firmware update, a second pair and different handsets. Used to have a Galaxy S8, now on an S20.

I think things have improved with latest update but dropouts definitely do still happen and usually clustered with a 2-3 dropouts over two minutes after 10-20 mins of problem free play.

Don't know if environmental problems are at play or not, haven't been able to put it down to anything yet.

    • +1

This often depends on which side of your body you carry the phone on. Earbuds only have a receiver on one side and the signal power is kept low to save battery. If the receiver and the phone are on the same side you should have no issues

  • +1

I just tried the ANC on these and compared them to a Bose QC25 whilst listening to this Airplane White Noise video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbEGmghn_jo

Both of them cancel out a lot of noise but you hear slightly different pitches of the same white noise - with the QC25 there's a bit of a higher pitch white noise remaining and the 75t has a slightly lower pitch noise.

Pretty subjective as to which one is "better".

For the train/short durations, I'd still use my 75t. For airplanes/long durations, I'd still use my QC25 (not that we're flying anytime soon) purely based on comfort.

  • Anyone use the Elite Active with a Garmin Music watch?
    Any issues? Pros? Cons?

  • Has anyone tried running with these?? I am keen to buy this or even the active 75t ones. Just want to know if anyone has experienced running or jogging with them…scared that if I buy these and go for a jog/run, they might fall out of my ear :(

    • for some reason they do ocassionally become loose on my left ear, but not my right one.
Not sure if its to do with my ear or the earpiece itself, but yeah

      • Fair enough….man is it worth it though……hmmmmmmmm

  • Just noticed that the Elite Active Dark Grey colour is now also $229, if anyone is interested in that over the Navy ones.

  • I have issues with headphones generally falling out of my ears… do these just rely on the earbud itself to hold it in your ear?

    • Yeah same here. Any chance of wiring to connect the earphones to each other?

  • These are excellent. I have rather small ears so these fit perfectly. The 65ts were massive though.

I use these when I'm in bed and it's pretty comfy, even when I lay my head on the side. YMMV.

  • Now down to $198, and on Officeworks website for the same price
