    For anyone who finds this subscription service too expensive, I have helped some smaller firms set up Revit Server. Free product that doesn't need the cloud sub, but lets you collaborate on your designs much the same. PM if you want more info.

    Let's be honest - these prices are probably okay for businesses - but stupid crazy for anyone else, even with a discount you're looking at thosands of dollars per year.

      Yeah absolutely, my mate was starting up a business and for just 2 users they were not going to pay several thousand a year! Crazy.

      Yep considering a few years ago you could buy perpetual licences for these for not much more than the cost of 2yrs.

      Software subscription model is pure capitalism evil. I really don’t know how they get away with it. Check out Altium’s share price the past two years, they’re raking in profit. At least with them the ongoing cost is for support not the licence.
      But Microsoft are going this way too.

      Push back. Use open source where you can. Unfortunately FOSS CAD tools are not that great.
