  • Can we upgrade the RAM and SSD?

    • eMMC not SSD.

      • So it's soldered on the board? How about the RAM?

        • No, it's not upgradable RAM or drive.

@twocsies: Whilst these appear to be huge negatives, the machine reviews very nicely by most. The Chromebook seems to handle both limitations well, where-as you'd never go near these specs in a Windows system.

You can also stack with the Coles 15% off Him/Her gift card deal. Picked up one of these from JB this morning with $425 worth of gift cards. It seems like a great machine for the price.

    • Can you upload receipt? Just want to see if they can price match a receipt.

      • The receipt says $499, the extra saving was made by buying $500 of gift cards from Coles for $425 using this deal

It was quite an effort rushing to Coles after work, securing 10x$50 HIM giftcards from the well worked over gift card stall, then hightailing it to JB hifi before finding that none of GCs worked! Thankfully they put the chromebook behind the counter and the GC started working the next day. A 700+ computer for 445 is a good deal - should be good for DD's BYOD. Thanks OP and youmindisfancy.

  • Can't this also be price beat with OW? $474

    • yeah for sure. good pick up

      • Just price beat at ow

Beware, they just dropped their price to 499 during check out but the employee didn't notice so I still got the discount 😁

So if you have the page loaded, it's in your best interests not to refresh 😉

This, with the current coles deal, makes it $425, which is a bargain for what you get in this chromebook.
Its rated as one of the best all round for the price chromebooks from the reviews ive seen, and its normally competing against the ~$600 ish range chromebooks

Overkill for the BYOD im buying it for, for primary school age, but with ChromeOS updates till 2028, assuming it doesnt get broken, it should be a reliable option for quite a while. Now to find some kind of secure/tough case option :)
