Was going to say. We got it for 75 in September for our son. Big W price matched if the Costco store was within 25km of their store.

      • This set comes with 1500 pieces and with 4 base plates.
The base plates themselves cost no less than $10 each.
Thus making it 1500 pieces at $49.99.

This set isnt available else where though!

Just wanted to say that Kmart sells this set every day for $89 (EDIT: My bad, that one is without base plates.) I'm considering it for my kid for Christmas & am not a costco member. Also, Kmart have started selling generic base plates in 4 colours, plus 4 types of road plates. Pack of 5 for $12, or $3 each. Have tested myself, quality & compatibility is excellent, unlike most generics. Lego base plates are severely overpriced, can't even get them cheap second-hand.

  • no space on the floor for more legos…can't avoid stepping on one already

    • Ouch. I have a dedicated toy pan & brush now, which I wave about threateningly & then proceed to sweep up the least recently scattered pile.

Remember Target has toy price match and currently 20% off lego, and some upto 40%,

    • yes, bought few sets from Target.
From Lego hunting in Target website, I ended up seeing this deal at Costco, which gets even better tomorrow Thanks to @RichardL.

      • Yes too true plus it seems Target doesnt have this set

    • yes from tomorrow (27-Nov).

  • This is $89 at Kmart normally.

    • At Costco it is the 11717 is 1500 pieces with 4 base plates.

At KMart it is the 10717 is 1500 pieces without the 4 base plates.
Each base plate in KMart costs $10.

Oh my bad!! But Kmart has the generic base plates very cheap now, which I'm overjoyed to say are excellent quality, I've never been able to afford them before.

I don't think these base plates are as big as those in Kmart - from the picture these look to be 16x16. The baseplates I have from Kmart are 48x48 for the grey and 32x32 for all other colours. They are probably worth the extra $6, if you feel $89 is a good price to start with.
