    2060 for over 2k…

Don't forget you are paying for the form factor here.

      • Nah, it's more of paying for the name 'Razer'.

        • +1

Ehhh, its a quality laptop and not even very expensive at this price compared to other similar laptops from different brands

          • @Lance Miranda: Exactly, whatelse do these peeps think they can get for the same money?

        • Can you link us to some deals that have same or better specs with similar form factor for less money? Would greatly appreciate it :)

          • -1

@Nadder: Lenovo had the exact same laptop with bigger battery, exact same specs for $1599 on Amazon Prime Day.

If you take the 2060 option and build it up to 144Hz screen + 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD + Win10 it ends up almost the same with worse construction/build quality/form factor, and arguably worse support (not to say razer's support is great)

Yeah my mate got a metabox to save some money.

Complains about it over heating and being average as.

  • Good deal. Been using an older model for past couple of years and its going strong, 0 problems. (Switched over from dell xps line up as they always seemed to have issues) Yes you can get more powerful for cheaper but this is thin, light, good thermals and has a high quality finish which for someone who travels with their laptop its defnitely worth paying the premium.

    • If you don’t mind me asking What do you primarily use the laptop for?

Would this advice hold for someone mostly editing in regards to xps 15 vs blade 15?

      • +1

Hey mate I also use it for video editing primarily. I think the considerable increase in performance from the 2060 outweighs the better battery life from the Dell. Not to mention you'll save a couple hundred bucks too. The Dell has great battery but even then I would never edit without it being plugged in anyway.

performance, razer all the way. Dell does have fantastic support although I've never had an issue with my razer anyway, whereas I've had 3 Dell xps all of which always had some sort of problem.

Razer also has newer gen cpu

        • The consistency in which people say they have to return xp laptops is to worrying to me at this point. I think I’m going to pick up the razor. Thanks for your help!

  • Does anyone have any advice on choosing between the razer 15 and dell XP’s 15 ($2399)
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/dell-xps-15-15-6-full-hd-…

I will use it for video editing primarily with gaming as an afterthought.

Similar specs with the razer having the better graphics card but I’m worried about battery life as the razer is around 5-6 hours and xps is significantly longer. Also I’m not certain but I assume the 500nits display on the xps is better than the razors.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

      I owned an Xps 17, 15 and an AW M17 R3.

Returned all three and now have a Razer Blade 15 Advanced (this model but the "advanced version".

This is an insane deal for a razer laptop. This is my first razer laptop and I think I'm a lifer.

The build quality is insane on these things.

I use mine for work as well btw (light gaming when I can squeeze it in).

      • It is a really good price thanks for the reply I’ve decided I’m going to get the razor :)

        • I paid 3k for the advanced version (8 core / 2070). If I had seen this price…. I probably would've just saved 900 and got this one. + the Base model has 2 m.2 slots for some reason and the advanced only one.
