$50 if you’re within 30mins drive of their warehouse.

I’d personally be price matching at Bunning to bring it under $1k after cash back.

I price matched a Mitsub AC at Bunnings, also got cashback from MHI. Cracker of a deal, great AC.

Bunnings sent the ac out - didn't organise a second to help the driver so driver couldn't handle the delivery without help - not organised with me - driver called me at work asking when I'd be home, he ended up waiting 90 minutes. We got the boxes off the ute, he drove off (my garden).

I know transport is competitive but Bunnings can do better than this bunch of cowboys - unfair to driver, unfair to me - cost on invoice was only $20 delivered to Eltham from Altona Store.

        AC is top notch.

  • Anyone know a good installer in Melbourne?

Below copied from another post I made in Jan.
Ended up going with #2 and very happy with their work - would use again.

I've just got quotes for Melb Eastern suburbs.
Here they are in order of cost, from cheapest to most expensive (though they were all in the same ballpark):

      1) Climatezone
      Tel: 0418 556 866 (Darren)
      2) V Spark Electrics
      Tel: 0401 965 805 (Paul)
      3) Twin Electrics & plumbing
      Tel: 03 9808 7555 (Darren)
      4) 4th Phase Electrics
      Tel: 0430 198 349 (Casey)

I rang a bunch of other places & found many that won't fit without supplying (eg) Coldflow, Maroondah Heating & Cooling, Rapid Cold air conditioning.

I decided to pick a sparkie company (like #2 or #3 for example) as they do everything, as opposed to others (got some additional quotes from individuals not listed above) who do the quote, but then work with a sparkie seperatly.
Ensure that they'll provide an electrical certificate upon completion, etc.
I'd also say that once they quoted (all in-person), I rang them back to ask them to better their price - most then knocked off $100 or ~10% (If you don't ask, you don't get, right?)

In terms of price, #2 worked out at $750 per install (2 units), both of which were pretty much back to back, ground floor.

Rather than getting a third-party remote controller you can use Mitsubishi one that sits right inside of the head unit.

    • Did some research before i got Tado.
Read some users had difficulty connecting and modem must have wps function.
      Plus Tado compatible with HomeKit.

Just read some reviews on amazon of Tado it sound just as bad. =(

      • I had never read any reviews just bought and installed one two weeks ago (for Mitsubishi Electric - not MHI, though they might be similar). Took longer than expected to configure but the app was surprisingly good, better than one from Daikin.

        • Mitsubishi Heavy Electric and Mitsubishi Electronics are entirely separate companies, run by the same parent company.

The MH-AC-WIFI-1 by Intesis is relatively easy to install and connect using the AC Cloud app (not as difficult as the forums suggest). However, the app is still pretty poor and at $170 each they aren't that great of an investment. I have 6 of them, so it's sunken costs

      Pros:
      - No external power supplies required (unlike Tado, Sensibo etc).
      - The wifi controller can be concealed inside the casing of the internal unit
      - provides external and internal temperatures via the app
      - Relatively easy to navigate the app.
      - Can be integrated with Google Home*

      Cons:
      - The app is still buggy on iOS - it'll close randomly and require reopening
      - There is no auto fan speed control (just 1-4 level speed).
      - There is no control of 3D Fans, horizontal louvres (vertical ones are there).
      - *Google Home integration features "turn off/on AC" with no actual controls of the functions via Google.
      - No timer function via app (although scheduling is there, it's a bit clunky to operate

I emailed HMS/Intesis with some change requests, and they handballed me to MHIAA. Emailed MHIAA and they said that they weren't planning to introduce the aforementioned featuers.

      • Appreciate the details review.

It also disables the sleep & timer programming via the remote control.
For me the convenience of having wifi access & smart control was ruined by the fact I could no longer simply set a sleep timer from the remote.

        • Great A/C though!

        • I have 3 Haier units is this, is the MH-AC-WIFI-1 device compatible with my units? If not, can someone advice what is compatible?

          Model nos:
          Haier as35tb1hra
          Haier as71te1hra

  • Hi, can you give more details about the $952 price at Bunnings?
    Seems to me it's 1225 - 150 (cashback) = 1075.

    • Mee too

  • I have 4 upstairs bedrooms to do AC. Happy to go with MHI but need advice on best AC solution please. I am in Melbourne & all 4 rooms are closely clustered. Thx

  • can you do price beat with bunnings online/phone? or you have to go to the store in person for price beat?

    • +2

I went in store, Bunnings sunshine, VIC.
At first they were confused with the cashback offer. I had to reiterate it had no part in the sale price.

      • Gosh I had a terrible experience with them in VIC as well - 3 clueless ladies at the registers questioning if it's the same product, called another lady to come down, asked why the two units (indoor + outdoor) had different model numbers and then argued the cash back is already applied lol… Eventually they gave in and I managed to get the price beat.

  • +1

These are now a) sold out in all Bunnings in Qld and b) repriced to $1220.

    • :(

    • Yeah just tried to price match and Bunnings and they've changed their prices in store but have not updated the website price. So they apparently now can't price beat. Bloody dodgey mob.

      • +3

Still a good price when you look around at alternatives.
Although, lowering price by a couple of $$ to not have to beat by 10pc is a dog move bunnings

  • We purchased Bunnings tonight in Vic and price matched as advised.

    • Which store? I tried price beating (at 530pm on Friday) and they said their system had already been updated to $1220, despite website not being updated. And there's no way they can do the price beat since the system price is lower.

  • +2

Warrnambool - at about 8.30 pm (Fri). It was the last one in store. We rang first. Did not confirm price beat until we saw a manager in store. Suggest calling different stores.

If Bunnings now have for $1220 across all stores (still $79 less than advertised $1299 yesterday) with MHI cashback $150 = $1070.

Same aircon $1500 -$2000 advertised at other retailers.
    Still a bargain.

    • Hi Mydwyf - what were the rough dimensions of the boxes for the AC to take home?

  • Any good prices on ones that would be good to cool a moderate sized living room and dining room? I'm not so sure on what pricing for these sorts of things are. My sisters one just broke down this morning :-(

  • I've just been to a local Bunnings (SA) happy to pay $1220 - price was the original $1299 so claimed price beat which the cashier argued as they don't beat products on special (wrong?) and how was I getting it delivered from Melbourne today. Thankfully the other cashier next to her said they processed one yesterday the same (someone on here I'm guessing..thanks!) so she finally agreed put it through. Added $50 delivery (yep) before the price beat so final price $997.50 after MHI cashback so I'm very happy, thank you smwpp!

    • Noob here… how did they figure $50 delivery? Did you have to call the shop? I would imagine delivery is a fair bit more than $50 but IDK. I just got turned away from Bunnings (SA) because too late to call Aircon Shop for the delivery fee (not advertised on their site).

      • I ordered from bunnings online and it was $40 to be delivered via ute. Didn't price match

      • Follow up for people reading in the near future: Aircon Shop have stated no stock currently and $120 shipping fee to Adelaide so best deal is full-price ($1299) at Bunnings unfortunately.

  • Ordered from bunnings Friday night, delivered Sunday. Didn't price beat, but was quoted $2550 for supply/ install of the same unit, so will save a few hundred $ plus the cash back by getting it here.

  • Bought one from Clyde North today, the person was bit scared to process price beat, however did that after verifying the website 10 times. $1102+$40(delivery) =$1142 delivery tomorrow. They had 4,5 in stock at that time. Every other store in south-east Melbourne didn’t have in stock.

  • Anyone knows if you need single phase or three phase power supply for this air con ?

    • +1

      Single 240v

  • Still good price @ $1070 from Bunnings!

  • Any recommendations for installation please ?
    Can’t find anyone under $750
    Bunnings offering installation for $798
    Thanks in advance

  • Just confirming that Aircon Shop is in Vic, do I guess o can't get a price beat from bunnings in QLD?
