Power follows in the footsteps of Playand, the award-winning Source Sparkling Water Makers, both of which were created in collaboration with renowned global designer Yves Bhar.

  • OMG…..that's a great price for this top of the line model.

  • Does it make better quality sparkling water than the non-electric models? 🤷‍♂️

    • Nope, but it's much more convenient IMHO and heavy aluminium sides give it a very premium look on the benchtop.

Same price on eBay but PRESS20 doesn't work on it, Myer have an extra 17% flash cashback sale via Shopback from 10am!

    • Brings it to an effective price of $103 after cashback. I'm tempted to get a spare.

      • I don't think this will be eligible for the 17% cashback? Seems a big vague but on the don't section on the Shopback page it states :
'Ineligible Cashback kitchen household & personal care appliances…..'
I'm guessing this means all kitchen appliances are ineligible? Anybody able to confirm?

        • Certainly sounds ineligible.

Of course, if you're going to buy it, you have nothing to lose trying. try, but it sounds unlikely.

        • Agree, sounds ineligible. Sorry, got excited for a moment

    • Is the ShopBack cashback eligible? I just read the “don’ts” and it says Ineglible cashback kitchen household & personal care appliances…”

      • Yeah, just seen the same, don't think it's eligible

  • Use Suncorp gift card with 7% it will come up to 115.78

  • can these be modded with external bottle?

  • The only thing is you need to plug this one in, got me wondering if I should get the spirit since I don't need another device plugged in and near the wall. Gives one more options on placement around the house.

What are you thoughts guys? Is this it better to just get the top of the line and figure it out?

Power is not necessary, but it's nice to have. The spirit is a super plasticy version, this is a very premium by comparison. I own both. The spirit is in the cupboard in case of power failure!

      • Thanks Ash, Ill go the premium

        • clever!

Save the planet, do not buy the power model.

  • I may just finally get one. What extras need i get to be able to use it straight away, extra bottle or syrup?

  • Eligible for 17% shopback between 10 and 2?

  • Eligible for 17% shopback between 10 and 2?

    • Nope, kitchen ineligible

What's the difference with this DJs one for $99?

    • This one is electrical. See the second floor of comments.

    • That's a manual machine with a battery-powered led indicator.

  • Ahh I see, thanks!

Hard to tell, with lack of description on both Myer and DJs sites.

  • I just purchased through cashback & can confirm they are not included in the 17% cashback. & according to the exclusions, there is not much that is included.

  • Yeah, 17% didn't work for me either, then I looked at the fine print:

"Ineligible Cashback kitchen household & personal care appliances, electronics, heating & cooling, TVs, eReaders, laptops, audio, headphones & speakers, tech, phones, cameras, smart watches, smart home products, bedding products, kids and baby."

So don't factor that in when purchasing

  • Gah, looks like they just sold out

    • White/Silver was still available

    • Just bought a white silver and black silver models at myers in perth. Plenty of stock. Signs still had 179 up. Bit of a shame for people who have no idea about the website. Luckily i knew and asked. Got it discounted.

Maybe one day offers online dont get broadcast in store.

The ebay store is still 124.50 for both colours so you can buy off that if your not in a hurry.

  • Just bought this for xmas…. curious given how much more exp it is - is it really worth it for the powered carbonation?never used a sodastream before but the element is. on sale for 99 down $20 in jb hi fi, david jones etc. This was only 124.50 so i bit the bullet but normally is much higher - it certainly looks nicer but is that all one really pays more for?

It uses same bottles, gas cannisters etc right? Just it requires power to carbonise which for some having a power point may be a deal breaker?

Is there any quality increase or durability given the price premium?? Any taste difference? Otherwise is pushing down for carbonisation more of a first world problem?or does it actually eat into a fair bit of time that if the recipient appreciates automation this would be much better to get (source power)?

Now that i have bought the sodastream i presume it comes with a bottle. Is there anything else one generally needs to top up into the present to make it more complete?is an extra 2 x 1l bottle pack and gas cannisters required?? Or one box is generally decent?
