Shure AONIC 50 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones $419 Delivered @ Amazon Australia

The best sounding portable ANC headphones inside a reasonable budget. Slightly warm and slightly bright tilt on neutral compared to the boomy bass you'll typically get from Sony and Bose, and improved detail retrieval. Rave reviews about its 'environment' mode, a standard staple of ANC headphones that lets you hear the outside world, and this take doesn't disturb the audio quality.

Price has always been the concern with these headphones (MSRP of $600), but this deal rockets them into great value for the quality. Supports every current BT codec, including AptX low latency. ANC isn't best in class, but it's more than close enough to that.

Can you please put the price in the post title?

    • Rushed through the deal info, my bad. Should be updated now, though OzB is grinding to a halt.

  • Good price (especially after cash back).
Got more upvotes than expected. I posted the Technics ANC headphone earlier and it got just 1 upvote.

$10 code causes the cash back to decline btw. Even just trying it, I tried to apply and failed once, cashback still declined.

    • Updated the post to reflect that, but you missed this earlier:

      • I saw that.
I already bought something I needed (a Large mouse pad) before BF.
There was 3 left and it was cheaper than previous deal I found so I just jumped on it with CB.

I was kind of expecting a bargain too good to resist on BF, but turns out it was a bit disappointing (like Prime Day).

Oh well I learned a few things so that’s enough. Going to look out for 15% off Giftcards on future BF when it’s a year I need to upgrade my phone or need something in the $1XXX range (white goods etc).

        • I mean I used those stackable deals to get a Sundara for $425, so there were opportunities.

These Shure would have been $350, or $345 if the $5 cashback was eligible too (I think it was?).

    Price dropped to $419.

Mod already changed it I think.

    • Eh, same price if you were stacking cashbacks either way: $350.

Still some of the savings are more guaranteed & instant now.
I failed to notice the Zippay 10% (Max $50) link in the shopback post. So double stack is how you got that price.

      • Hi again, need your advice.
So 3/4 items have arrived from Ali (2nd item yesterday, 3rd item today).
I had been very satisfied with the whole experience up until the 3rd item.

So basically, the 3rd item is different version to what I ordered (the pictures in the original listing were completely different version).

I noticed soon after I ordered that they had changed the pictures on the listing to show a different version (same product type so I thought ok that’s fine they are out of stock and switched to a different version of the product).

So I just opened the package and the product is what is shown in the ‘new’ replacement pictures (different to what I ordered). So how do I go about disputing this?

With other items I clicked “confirm goods received” after checking their condition and they were correct item and left positive feedback.
But I am worried about clicking “confirm goods received” on this wrong product, as it may ruin any chance of disputing.

        1. Should I contact the seller directly through messages? (some said they were manipulated by sellers and directed to click the wrong things which made dispute / refund impossible)
        2. Should I click the “open dispute” in “order detail” page?
        3. Or should I chat to Ali support in the bottom right chat window that pops up?
        4. Or should I dispute through PayPal directly?

Any advice will be appreciated thanks.

        • Open a dispute, it should ask if you've received the item, and they should walk you through.

If it's a cosmetic difference, you'll be offered a partial refund. If it's a completely different product, you should expect a full refund so you can re-order the correct item, but they may want you to return the item somehow, so consider postage costs if they're not willing to send you a shipping label.

If they don't offer anything like the above, push that AliE step in, they should be able to see the previous changes to the product page and side with you.

          • @jasswolf: Thanks for the reply.

but they may want you to return the item somehow, so consider postage costs if they're not willing to send you a shipping label.

I think they will ask the buyer to pay for shipping back, I think they will try anything to get you to keep the product… I am trying to think of a way with minimal discussion with seller.

push that AliE step in, they should be able to see the previous changes to the product page and side with you.

By “Push that AliE step in” do you mean the AliE chat box (bottom right of home page)?
It currently says chat to “Eva” and I can click “item not as described”.

It would be great if they can see the changes (history) of product pictures, I would be willing to order the item again (from different seller) if they give full refund.

          • @jasswolf: Ok I tried chatting to Ali before opening a dispute.
They kind of brushed me off… told me to just open a dispute and contact the seller, and then the site randomly signed out by itself…

Oh well. See how it goes.

            • @thebadmachine: That would be an automated chat bot. I was referring to the mechanism that allows you to bring AliE to mediate if you find the seller's proposals unacceptable.

                @jasswolf:

That would be an automated chat bot.

Yes at first it was (Eva) but clicked an option that came up (in the suggested shortcuts area below chat which changes) after I typed a few things and it connected to someone else. At least I thought it was a real person.

mechanism that allows you to bring AliE to mediate

Oh ok yes I saw that is part of the dispute process.

Thanks for your help, just need to wait through the 4 day dispute process now (pretty good time I think).
I also read somewhere that sometimes stores simply ignore this process, and if that happens Ali sides with you automatically.
Also while browsing clicking around the dispute process I found a page which shows a ‘snapshot’ of the page when you ordered. And the pictures were definitely different and there is a record of it so impressed with Ali here.

              • @jasswolf: The dispute counter is almost up, got a direct message from the seller.
They are instructing to close the dispute, and offering peanuts in return.

I had a feeling it could get dodgy… if I close the dispute they could just ignore afterwards and I lose ability to dispute.
Probably will leave it for another day and just let AliE step in. It says to do so if "you and the seller cannot reach an agreement".

                • @thebadmachine: So they're not even making a proper offer?

Again, if it's a cosmetic difference, don't expect much. That's a fair outcome for a working product that fits your intended purpose.

                  • @jasswolf: I see it as trying to trick customer to click the end dispute button.

If you ordered a cup with a print on it.
And what you received was a cup with a completely different print.
You could say the product is X0% correct because it’s a cup.
But when ordering something I expect to get what was shown in the picture when ordering.
(It was a simple product zero option to choose from, something else I ordered had many options and it was correct when it arrived)

                    • @thebadmachine: I agree, but there are shades of grey there, and AliE should sort you out.

                      • +1

@jasswolf: Dispute was resolved few days ago.
AliE stepped in and offered refund of more than 50% of item cost (around 4x what the seller was offering in message), so accepted and received refund soon after.
Thanks to AliE they did good job.
3 out of 4 stores were great to deal with, items arrived within a month very happy products good quality and as described.
Overall positive experience, consider it a version of Amazon & eBay.
Will consider shopping again for certain products. Thanks for your help.

  • Finished (website told me to report when I typed the other word, which I already have so would give me error).
