  • This or M.2 for a new PC?

    • +2

M2 of course. Kingston A2000 is actually cheaper than this.

      Oh wait! The game…

      970 Evo perhaps?

      • Sadly, they don't offer the game for Evo, need Evo plus.

    • +1

If you don't care about the game this SSD comes with and aren't planning on transferring very large files frequently, I'd just get a low tier NVMe like the recent 1TB A2000 deal here just because of its stellar price/performance and lack of cables.

New PC: M.2 … and as large as you can afford.
When it comes to upgrade, reusing an 'old' M.2 involves a PCI-E adapter or shoving into a slower external enclosure.

  • Wow getting credit. The code, afaik, hasn’t been updated to be added to cashback so it wouldn’t work. But should be nice to use some eBay gift cards to pay.

  • yes check the forums, lots of people can't claim because of serial number not in the system. and they're not just slow because I'm trying to claim a redemption for a ssd i brought almost 3months ago and its not letting me proceed on the samsung redemptoon website.

    • I ordered an 860 EVO from Futu Online (eBay) last week
      Saturday: Ordered
Tuesday: Delivered and I put in for the Valhalla redemption that night.
      Wednesday night: received the code

      • I ordered from Futu on Friday and on the item page it says I can get the game. However Samsung website doesn't have Futu online as a participating store.

How did you get the game?

        • +1

You should receive an email from Futu/eBay with a tax invoice for your order. The invoice will actually be from K&S Computer Technology (Futu Online's parent company) who are listed as a participating retailer.

I just uploaded that PDF invoice in the proof of purchase section during redemption

          • @bopter12: Did you also upload a photo of the Serial Number on the back of the SSD itself?

T&C says both Tax Invoice & Photo of SN but the portal suggests to me that only the Tax Invoice upload is required.

Just wanted to make sure as the cashback scheme Samsung ran in the prior month (done through a different portal) had 2 sections clearly - 1 to upload the invoice and 1 to upload the SN.

            Thanks
