  • Can anyone recommend a good external enclosure for this? Thinking if using it for an Xbox Series x.

  • Is FUTU Online a participant reseller? The provided link doesn't have it listed.

    • +6

Futu Online = K.S. COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

      • Thanks. I guess it comes down to which name they use on their invoices.

        • +1

I spoke to someone and they said they'd invoice under their parent company name.

      • Purchased one today and the Ebay invoice states the seller is "Academic IT market"

        • The top of my invoice says KS electronics. Does yours? They’re all the same company btw.

          • @ATangk: Any idea where the code is to redeem the game? a noob here btw.

            • @Radbit: Click redemption link in deal text

  • Futu online not listed as one of the authorised retailers on that link op. I'd be checking with Samsung if you can claim it and or the seller if they actually are participating.

Awesome appreciate the clarification thank you very much.

      • +1

Can confirm I have had a cashback honoured through Futu as KS.
        Paid? That's another story

        • I reached out to Samsung Redemptions team, they said there is currently a massive delay due to the volumes.

          • @aveeno bb: Thanks for letting me know. I assumed it would be a while from what ozb members have said in previous posts. Must be netting them a lot of sales.

  • +1

Where do you sell digital codes?

    • +2

Check the classified section on Ozb.

    • +1

I've sold them on here plenty of times, no issues

      • hmmm, never tried that before, good deals?

    • I have sold a lot on Kinguin, I stay clear of G2A

    • Pm'd

  • +1

I am looking for a Samsung EVO 2TB SSD but guess most of the sales are on 1 TB capacity.

  • How much could realistically sell the game code for? Not interested in Assassins Creed at all

    • I'm going to assume there are plenty of people in your shoes so I wouldn't think that much. Could be wrong tho.

      • +1

Plenty of people not in the know would fork out $100 for the game though.

    • +1

Check the classified section and make an offer there. As the market floods, theyll be worth less.

    • New price minus 15% works well for digital codes.

      • +2

Damn, you must be making bank from this. Going price was around $40 last I checked a few days ago on the classified. Especially now its about to be flooded with this deal.

        • Do you know how long it takes to receive the code? Samsung Cashback was approved in a few hours but it took about a month to receive the money in my bank account

          • +1

@FireRunner: I only bought from this deal. Codes I assume should work a lot faster than monetary cashbacks, but they still need to confirm that you actually bought it and didn't forge it. Though they've always been having some issues with their S/N's which take a few extra days.

          • +1

@FireRunner: Approved my last samsung cashback in September, haven't received the money yet.

            • +1

@missyu: Just checked mine, still haven’t received the payment for the September promo. This is the third Samsung Cashback claim I’ve made (three different promotions) and the other two took about a month to receive the money after being approved

          • +1

@FireRunner: I purchased an evo 860 and was met with the dreaded invalid S/N in contact with samsung now to get it rectified

          • @FireRunner: I don't know for the code. But my last Scamsung cashback gave me the runaround for weeks with invalid SN issues, despite online chat confirming it's valid, cashback is a different department/contractor.
Had to start threatening Fairtrading to get them to stop jerking around.

            • +1

@joelmuzz: Yeah, I had the same issue with my latest claim (previous two had no issues). I emailed them and they resolved it in a few days. Email address I sent to was [email protected]

        • +1

If it is saturated, it will likely be lower. I'm just going by the rule I usually work on in the past for when I've sold digital codes that has always worked well for me.

  • would you get this + enclosure or get a samsung t7?

    • If you're planning on taking it on the go the T7 is physically much smaller, can be handy if slipping it into a laptop bag etc. If you're planning to use it just at home a decent enclosure is functionally the same.

  • +3

It's all good until the serial comes up invalid when trying to claim assassin's Creed ..

    • +1

you need to use s/n on back of the SSD.

      • Yeah haha tried that. Tried the s/n on box and SSD.

    • Having the same issue on my end…searching online appears this is a common issue with the Samsung redemption promos

  • Now I feel stupid forking out $175 for Samsung T5…

    • +1

T5 is very handy and comes in a smaller package.

  • Any news for the 2TB?

    • Yes
2TB here from Futu Online (aka K.S. COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY) with 20% off = $337.60
Evo 860 TB + AC Voucher

      • Is that a good deal? I got my MX500 2TB for $250 from Amazon back then but they lost my delivery then did my refund. So I'm now looking for a new 2TB

        • The same drive is $358 at Umart in Brisbane - but out of stock. Static Ice shows quite a few vendors in $360. So little over a $20 dollar saving.
Not 20% but this is hardly new behaviour.

  • Man the price jacking is real, brought some of these SSD's a few days ago and the stating price was lower. This SSD above was $175 and the 870 QVO 2Tb was $313 now it's $348. Lucky I have price protection on my 28 Degrees card.

    • brought them from where?

      • Same eBay shop Seller

  • Pretty great deal if you're after both SSD and game, I'd actually be pretty interested in playing any of the new AC series if they weren't so long. I don't have 100+ hours to put into a single game.

    • That's intentional, so much padding in the last 3 AC games. Some people do like that aspect however.

      • +1

Totally, I can see who it would appeal too. Unfortunately it completely kills the interest for me. That's not to say I would never put that kind of time into a game (Witcher 3 and Factorio are the latest examples) but for AC I definitely preferred the shorter more linear experiences of AC1 and 2.

  • If you are after M.2, then the MZ-V7P512BW - 512GB would be the cheapest option that includes the game?

    • There should be 1Tb m.2 860 evos but I cant find any with deals on ebay.
      MZ-N6E1T0BW

  • Hey guys, I accidentally (don't ask why) bought this instead of this deal. Is this the same SSD? I don't know why mine says 550mb/s while this one shows 6gb/s?

    • Exact same drive. The 550 mb/s is the read speed. The 6 gb/s is the speed of SATA III, which is how these drives are connected

    • +1

They have multiple listings of the same drive for some reason…

    • 6Gbps is sata speed = ~ 550MB/s real speed.

      Mbps is megabits
      MB/s is megabytes.

      8 bits = 1 byte

    • You're mixing your bits and bytes.
      6gbs is gigabits per second.
      6000ish megabits per second.
there's 8 bits in a byte so the theoretical Max speed is 750 megabytes per second. Factor in some overheads and there's your 550 megabytes per second.

  • You can save tiny bit more ($4.44) , if you use ebay gift card purchase through Suncorp benefits

  • Well decided to upgrade ssd 250gb was so annoying to manage and Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be nice to play

  • Damn, I remember buying a 500GB version for $250 not long ago.

    • Thats technology for you. Bought this for $145 after cashback not super long ago, now its the same price + a game.

  • the name sounds cute

  • +1

Really good value, especially if you want to sell the game code for like $30-$40.

    • +1

Happy to pay $30-40 for the game as I really don't need an extra SSD, do you know where to find one?

      • +1

Wait a week or so until people on here start receiving their SSD's and check the Classifieds forum.

      • +1

You might be able to find someone on this board who will go 110/38 split.

I recommend not buying ubisoft pc games off reseller sites, I got AC: Rogue for it's normal sale price and Ubisoft revoked my key a few months later.

They didn't say it was a stolen key, only that it wasn't an authorized seller.

I buy most of my Steam games from Kinguin without issue for years.

  • +1

    Thanks, got one

  • Is this a good drive to use for start up on a PC? Have a 256 gb SSD plus 1 TB HD on a 5 year old computer and looking to combine them into a new drive.

    • +1

For sure. Most users will see no benefit moving to an NVMe drive, unless you are building SFF or want a cleaner system and want to get an M.2.

Samsung is a good brand name so you wont go wrong with it. Very good price + AC Valhalla, cant go wrong.

      • Thank you so much for your reply but I'm a little confused about the terminology you used (NVMe, SFF, M.2. - tried Google but even more confused afterwards). I'm new to all this. Would you kindly recommend any online guide that would help me re-image my operating system on the new drive - I guess that's what they call it?

        • +1

In that case, if you buy this you will need a spare SATA data cable and a SATA power cable. The former can be found in your motherboard box, and the latter should be daisy chained to your existing HDD. That said, if you dont you can always unplug your 1TB HD whilst you move it.

For free, I like to use Macrium here. It works well and is free, and even has tools you can use to boot into a USB to restore your drives.
          https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree

          EaseUS is another software.

That said, samsung will have their own things here:
          https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/…

          • @ATangk: Thanks mate, you are a life saver!

            • +1

@ozyack: Btw I assume the 256 Gb is the OS drive and the other one is storage. There may be some issues that you will have in terms of moving the second drive, as you wont really be 'cloning' the second drive, only the first one. You will probably end up with links to a D:/ which need to be rectified when you combine them.

Solution is prob to clone the 256 into the 1Tb, then open any steam/game installers and move them within the properties, and then copy over any generic storage files. Or just keep using both 1Tb drives.

              • +1

@ATangk: Yes, 256 is the OS. 1 TB is getting slow, might be coming to its end of life. I might just manually copy from 1 TB. Thanks again!

                • +1

@ozyack: You're welcome. If you get stuck you can find me again haha.

  • SSD price is trending down. Shopping Expressing is selling the same model and spec for $155 with free postage.

    • Pretty sure it’s actually even cheaper like 145, there’s some promo. But it doesn’t come with the game so it’s not worth it.

  • Noob question.. where do you get the serial number to redeem the code? Just got the ssd today.

    • Me too just received the SSD, did you have the invoice? After you got your tax invoice you could redeem via this link

      https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/ssd-acvalhalla/

I haven't seen my tax invoice now so I send a request from eBay.

      • I found out, you got to first claim it rather than redeem it (if it makes sense). There's a "Submit Claim" button next to "Redeem Gift".
You'll need the information of the ssd and the tax invoice to fill up the form and you'll get the redeem code the next day via mail.
Hope it helps. Just got my mine today.

      • Your tax invoice should have been sent as an email, about 1 hr after your ebay order email.

      • I got my invoice in the "Your Futu Online order has now been dispatched and your tax invoice attached" email.
