  • will this board work with Ryzen 5 5600X? Also have a USB-C port on the front of my case (Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case) and cant figure out if it will be compatible :/ I havn't found a mobo yet (don't need overclocking or anything fancy just wifi and bluetooth) if anyone has any recommendations

Works with all 3rd gen Ryzen cpus

Does it require a bios update first? Do you need a compatible CPU inserted in order to update the bios?

        • +2

It has q-flash plus so doesn't need a compatible CPU.

I found I couldn't do it without a CPU but it was fine when I put in my 5950x and flashed off a USB drive.

It has a header for front type-C! It will work with the type-C port on your case.

        +1 can confirm
Have mine in a o11 dynamic

Most X570's do. Select B550's do too. Just need to double check if its Gen 1 or 2

    • According to pcpartpicker, it's the cheapest x570 board that has front port usb 3.2 gen 2 :)

    Nice find

  • When are the 5900x CPUs available for purchase?

I have this board, and I wish I had paid a little bit more for the next model up.
It has a criminally low amount of fan headers compared to most other boards in the price range (eg: asus TUF, or even other gigabyte boards). And the layout of everything just feels like a budget board.

    • Yeah looking at it, the wifi and BT modules are outdated and there's no USB C port. I do appreciate the 10 USB A ports though.

I don't think the ethernet port is 2.5gbps either.

    • What is the next model up from this?

      • That's also wifi 5

    • I agree with the fan header comment. I've got the non-Wi-Fi version for $233 and paired it with a Gigabyte Wi-Fi 6/BT5 card (bought it for $69 at the time, but it's now $55 at CentreCom). It's definitely not worth the RRP, but for 233, I'd say it's a decent board. The fan header is not a deal breaker for me. I got the Arctic P12 PWM PST 5 pack from Amazon a few weeks ago and linked all to 1 header.

This one doesn't have TB header, personally I suggest to go for Pro..

    • Isn't TB Intel exclusive?

      • I'm talking about TB header, which you can use it to add a TB3 PCIE card.
For gigabyte X570 motherboard, starting from Wifi Pro, all have TB header.

  • Good find but only WIFI 5 unfortunatly.

  • Can anyone recommend a case for this?

    • Bit of weird question.

So an ATX motherboard (like this motherboard) will fit in any ATX compatible cases.

When buying a case you want to focus more on other factors outside of the motherboard. Here's a list of things that directly impact case selction.

      1. CPU Cooler - Large air coolers may not fit in some cases due to height issues.
      2. GPU length - Larger graphics cards may not fit in some cases due to length.
      3. Proposed cooling solution - Do you want to install and AIO? If so what size? Because case choice will be limited by the choice of AIO.
      4. Desired cooling capacity - Do you want your system to run as cool as possible? Or maybe you prefer your system to be quieter and don't mind losing some airflow capacity.

Hardware Jesus just made this video to sum up my thoughts on what cases to buy.

I had this Motherboard for a Build ,only had Problems with it. Problems with the bios ,not keeping Bios setting when you unplug the PC , always have to set up the Bios..
This Mobo didn't work well with a RTX 3080.
Better x570 is a Asus TUF GAMING X570 PLUS WIFI

    • have you changed your CMOS battery?

      • Yes done everything ,spent hours on forums , a lot people have same problem with Gigabyte x570 mobo

Same here. Its actually really annoying because after like 2 months I'll check the BIOS and discover the ram has gone back to default slow mode who knows when. Additionally the CPU fan control by default has a super annoying rev up-down as the temp spikes for fractions of a second. Even after putting in custom fan curves its better, but still not great.

A friend has the Ultra version and has had even more issues, like 50% of the time it wont even turn on. I will avoid Gigabyte in future.

I also have the Asus TUF Gaming X570 Plus WIFI and plan on swapping them over when I get some down time.

Yes same here ,after unplugging the Computer , sometime it takes around 2 minutes to boot , or doesn’t boot at all ,have to press the power bottom again and wait 2 minutes. Very annoying when I sell Computers to Customer and the Mobo playing up

    • I've only had Gigabyte motherboards and the Bios for each one have always been horrible. Might try the MSI Mag Tomahawk as it has better reviews.
