Intel Core i5-10600KF CPU $311.20 Delivered @ Computer Alliance eBay

590
PRESS20

Unless I'm mistaken this is tied for the cheapest ever price for this CPU. Please note that it is the 10600KF variant, meaning it has no integrated GPU. I'd imagine this is a non-factor though, unless for some reason your build doesn't have a discrete graphics card.

First deal so let me know if I've done it right.

Edit: As pointed out by 8azinga, the i5 10600k (which does have an iGPU) is available as well for $319.20, also at its cheapest historical price.

Lol, can't believe I'm saying this but Intels a bargain now…

  • +5

The decent/good boards for 1200 sockets are so expensive still though…

    • +4

They seem about the same as x570 to me

      • +13

There's little reason to get an X570 over a B550 unless you need an NVMe raid-array or SLI (i.e. you're actually using your PC for professional work).

With Intel, you're forced into buying a Z-series board if you want XMP.

      • Agreed. I suppose it depends on what you mean by decent/good boards. For example, the median price for z490 vs x570 boards are more or less the same.

      • B550 tho

  • +8

It's a no brainer to buy the 10600K with integrated graphics for $8 more.

    • +1

Fair point, but does the iGPU ever get used if you have a separate GPU installed? Not a dig, I'm genuinely curious.

      • +11

if you run out of display ports you can run off the extra screens off the integrated graphics, also if your GPU dies or is otherwise unavailable you can still use your computer without needing to buy a new graphics card

e.g. I sold my 5700xt 2 months ago to buy a 3070 and selling it then netted me probably an extra 100-150$, but I didn't have a gpu for those months. Without the iGPU would have been unusable.

      • +4

I've had to use integrated when waiting for warranty replacement.
When you upgrade, you can pull your gpu for your new PC and still have a functioning pc to use for something else.

        • +7

Ok, definitely worth the $8 in all those cases you guys mentioned.

        • +3

          Also useful for troubleshooting

      • +3

I believe for those running Plex media servers and require hardware transcoding, Intel’s integrated graphics help as it has the ‘Quick Sync’ feature.

      • +2

If you're in between GPUs or trying to troubleshoot an issue, they come in handy.

      • +2

From what I understand Premiere uses the Intel iGPU's Quick Sync feature during scrubbing as well as export, which is why despite Ryzen 5000 series having more multicore oomph, Intel still has them beat on export times in that application.

I have a Plex server without dGPU that uses the Intel 7th gen iGPU to HW transcode but damn, the output is nasty.

      • +2

Yep when you're trying to troubleshoot if you're having issues with the GPU or something else, or if you're waiting for a warranty replacement for a new GPU and being able to still use your PC whilst waiting, etc. it's definitely worth the extra $8!!!

      • If you have multiple display then you can drive them with different gpu.

  • Damn… Just bought one 2 days ago for $359.2. This is definitely the cheapest I've seen.

    • +1

They had it for $308, but it was a price error. They refunded me, and gave me a $20 gift card. Upon further research I've decided I'm 100% going with AMD's 5600x or 5800x, just waiting for deals on them, probably in a few months. Hoping for deals earlier, but unlikely.

All the sales bots (& the sales support warriors on ozbargains) wanting to manipulate the + votes & comments be like… Damn…just bought six. shame my motherboard only fits four. oh well…i will keep 2 spare.

  • +1

Any z490boards on sale that can ooverclock well

  • +2

Computer alliance has magically listed their eBay items at hiked up prices as compared to their website. The 20% discount from eBay is just making them more money. An example is the Samsung 34 inch ultra wide monitor that's $499 on their website and $599 on their eBay store. Disgraceful.

    • +1

This is nothing new, futu_online are worse, the motherboard I got (which I ended up getting from comp alliance funnily enough) went up 2 or 3 times from when the sales started.

It's annoying but honestly it's still cheaper in most cases, plus the free shipping. Just need to be vigilant and cross check pricing on static ice, etc.

    • Looks like they have sale/discounts on some items on the web site but not on ebay. Not great but certainly not with all items, have bought a few parts with 20% ebay discount where the web site price was similar. The CPU in this deal has the same price for example. It would not be fair to expect them to stack up two discounts.

  • Great prices, if I hadn't already jumped on the $429 10700k I'd of gotten this for sure.

  • It is very odd that Intel is the value option at the moment haha

    • +2

Only because they dropped the shit out of their prices when Zen 3 came out because they literally can't compete at the same price point.

      • Intel are just losing out on AMD everywhere when you compare on price//performance. If you can ignore price, then Intel are better on the absolute high-end.

They had the majority market share for years through dirty tactics that they got fined for and this is all they have to show for their greed.

        • +1

I had to buy an Intel powered laptop just recently cos you can't get any of the wonderful 4800H laptops paired with anything stronger than an RTX2060 in this country so I feel like they're still up to their shenanigans.

        • +1

I had the opposite impression, it's very hard for Intel to offer the similar performance of 5950x or threadrippers. Fow low/mid range, both are comparable now, after Intel dropped prices (due to performance pressure from AMD) and AMD increased.

  • anyone recommend a cheap motherboard?

  • -2

Cheeky request. Could I please ask anyone who has got a recent Intel CPU that does not play fortnite please can I have their code to the Fortnite Splash Squadron skins?

  • MSI z490-a pro $199 or tomahawk $280?
