Dumbbell Weights Set - 40kg (2x 20kg) $89 + Delivery @ Dshop

170

Exactly the same as this popular deal, just $10 cheaper
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/559753
and 5 bucks more for double the weight than this deal
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/541765

You can use MY10 for $10 off first order over $100, if you feel like buying other "stuff".
Ended up adding the Pocket Hammer Amy Knife, which ended up being only $5 more overall.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2020

  • Any reviews on these? How quick is it to adjust the weights?

I would not recommend. I bought them last time and you they don't have an even distribution of weights to make 2 balanced dumbbells.
Also would not use it in barbell config as bares are all plastic and screwed in to extend.

The weights are plastic and possibly filled with concrete. The one advantage of the plastic casing it it less likely to break a floor tile.

That being said. - I’m gonna give it a go.

Unbeatable price and way safer than the disc style adjustable dbs

I purchased this last time, it is as cheaply built as you expect.

It works, although I never use the barbell connector as that is just trash.

The nuts also keep on undoing themselves and only have about 1cm left on the bar when all the weights are on, so you pretty much need to tighten them in between every use

  • anyone got good workout ideas for these? Especially for biceps and chest

I've been doing this workout at home and got some ok results so far.

  • $22 for delivery kills it for me

  • Would this be long enough for squats?

    • +2

you're better off getting a single heavy dumbell and do goblet squats

      • Thanks for the tip!

      • I recommend getting a kettlebell and doing kettlebell swing (with good form) for a good cardio/strength builder

        • I find kettle bell swings work your glutes / hips and lower back more.

    • Based on the reviews on last deal thread the bar is not so fantastic and bends under any decent weight.

  • Weights/Gym equipment will only get cheaper…. provided no state goes back into lockdown.

  • Considering all the photos with people using the weights is CGI and they probably didn't even get the permission to post their image, I'd go with a hard pass. There is a difference between a bargain and just getting what you paid for which is full price garbage in this case. I know I might get negged for not having the product on hand, but there is a reason why you have never seen this brand in a commercial gym or advertised elsewhere.

Price looks nice. But if anything goes wrong DShop customer service is sub-subpar. Ordered these in August, arrived last week. Constant chasing up required. Email only. Offered $5.00 discount on my next order though. Will never use it again.

Five year lurker, made an account to warn you tight arses off, because i appreciate you.

    • Ah that's crap, sorry you had that experience.
I ordered on Sunday, and just got it delivered today 🎉 Mind you I am only 25km as the crow flies.

  • Got my set yesterday.

    Thoughts:

*weights are a fair bit off. Eg 2.5kg was measured at 2.36, but then another 2.5kg was weight and was 2.4? lol
*there is no way you would want to put on any serious weight using the middle bar joiner. Even 2.5kg a side I'd be suss on.
*cannot believe they actually sent it as 1 x 40kg parcel, absoloute madlads. GG poor delivery driver.
*weights dont seen very durable, wouldnt want to drop them

    pice was OK though
