Best MacBook Pro USB C Adapters/Hubs

Haven't owned a Macbook for sometime but still need to connect a HDMI and a USB flash drive to it sometimes.

Seriously there is so many of these hubs, I have no idea what would be considered a good brand?

Please point me in the right direction.

Price wise I am not too fussed, just would like a good quality one:)

I have googled and watched a youtube clip but they drained my life.

  • Merged from USB C Hub for M1 Macbook Pro 2020….please help me.

I need to buy a USB-C hub for my 2020 M1 Macbook Pro.
Last time I asked this question it only yielded one response and I thank that user.

But im still confused af about what a good branded USB-C hub I should get. Every deal post I see is from an associated member spruking their usb-c hub.

About 30 different brands to choose from on Amazon and im bloody confused….

I need at least 1 usb 3 port and a HDMI port.

So which one do you recommend?

    Gracias.

    • I've tried several, but this is the one I've been using recently on my Macbook Air M1, its from Lention https://www.amazon.com.au/LENTION-Compatible-2020-2016-Chrom…

      • Ok no worries thanks.

If you want a HDMI port on it for a 4k tv or monitor, you will probably make sure it supports 4k at 60hz, and not just 4k at 30hz. Also make sure your USB ports are USB 3 because that'll speed up transfer times by a lot if you're talking about storage. Also some accessories require USB3 or won't work as well on USB 2.

4k@60hz is no mean feat for an adapter, so don't be surprised about the prices on all the options out there or the price for Apple's own solution.

Movies tend to be in 24hz, so 30hz is fine for that. But TV shows and your desktop use in general will want to be 60hz.

      • Thanks. That helps heaps! Appreciate it

I don't have M1 macbook but 2019 version and use it for work (programming and ms office stuff).
I recommend someone here the CHEOTECH one.
Depends on your usage as most do 4k at 30hz which is fine for my work.
CHEOTECH one is recommended few times here.

I'm using a HEYMIX from an Amazon Prime Day deal with an M1 MacBook Air and it seems to work fine, in addition to being quite cheap.

I bought an Anker one and it's really well made. Previously had a weird brand and died within two months. Worth paying a bit more.
