2TB ADATA XPG SPECTRIX S40G RGB PCIe M.2 SSD Drive $351.20 Delivered @ Computer Alliance eBay

PRESS20

Couldn't sleep last night after realising I posted a dupe and apparently low-stock item. Furthermore, my buyer's remorse was kicking in for not getting an RGB featured item that I would turn off anyway.

There are more than 10 available at point of posting.

Relative to the ADATA SX8200 Pro 2TB, this has better 4K read/write performance (evaluated for the 1TB variant). It may be noticeable in day to day if you generate over a thousand ReadMe.txt files per hour. Otherwise, no spilt milk over the SX8200 Pro. PC Mag article

  • Is this brand any good? And how does it compare to say the Samsung 970 Evo / Evo Plus M.2?
    Thanks to anyone who knows!

    Numbers:
    R/W - 3,500 / 3,000 Mbps vs 3,500 / 3,300 (Samsung 970 Evo Plus)
Reliability 1,280 TBW Vs 1,200 TBW (Samsung 970 Evo Plus)

Yep, adata is a solid brand. Their sx8200 line is well regarded. Uses TLC, with dram and SLC cache. Relative to the Samsung, there is very little real world difference. The Samsung does well with longer durations of writing, but for anything below 2 mins benchmarks suggest the adata performs better. The S40 seems to perform slightly better with small file read and writes.

This would be on par with the 970 evo plus and SN 750 from WD.

  • And any idea how to check if a mobo is compatible?
Asus Tuf Gaming B460 Pro WiFi for example?

    • +1

Shouldn't be an issue, this comes with an included heatsink as well, so you wouldn't need to use the one on your motherboard or use the one without a heatsink.

I wouldn't place directly beneath the graphics card personally though. Seems like the bottom slot might be better if you haven't used it yet.

The "Asus Tuf Gaming B460 Pro WiFi " Supports the SX8200. Don't see why It wouldn't support his

      Here is a list for you're M.2 compatability btw - https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/TUF-GAMING-B460-PRO-WI-…
