    Free delivery too

      Honestly not a bad deal.
It'll take at least 3 months to reach another deal like this. Then another 3 months to actually beat it (ie RRP price), and even longer to get one "on special" due to a discount/import :(

      • +1

Wait are you suggesting that it won't be until almost Q2 or 2021 before we see reasonable or RRP prices on the new graphics card, muh heart

        • It's been like that for the last +6 years.
I think the smoothest New Launch (either new node, or new architecture, or both) was the GTX 970. The worst from memory was the Vega64. I won't include the "refresh launches": RTX-Super, RX 500, 1080Ti, 980Ti, 780Ti, R9-300 since they're less impactful on supply lines.

          • +1

@Kangal: super launches made people more mad than anything, learning that their cards became obsolete so quickly in their price range.

  • +1

Thanks, ordered one, lets see if I actually get one.

  • +1

1 per customer. While stock lasts!

Hehehe don't you mean, while PRE-ORDER lasts

    • +3

Was showing as in stock when I order

      • +1

Ah, showing in stock now πŸ‘

  • +1

Pre order. Not sure what the ETA would be..?

  • +5

i am going to wait until 3080 stocks are back hopefully next year. My 1080Ti is still going strong.

    • +1

Yup my 2070 is meeting my needs for the time being

    • +1

Smart man. Reason why 3080s are ooo is because of rich kids with mums cc that needs to have the latest things. I have 980ti and in desperate need of the 3080 as 3070 just wouldnt cut it price per performance wise. Lets hope nbidia actually delivers early next year.

      • +3

Also Jensen sold $175 million worth of Ampere cards to miners.

  • +8

Quite unbelievable that when a card is over the MSRP by almost US$100, is actually already a decent deal. (Although to be fair, the Australian MSRP is $809)

    • I think we should all basically throw NVIDIAs MSRP out the window. Pretty much all the board partners have suggested it's impossible to hit from the get go at a materials cost level if they wanted any margin.

  • +5

    Is there a worse 3070?

    • +5

Good for ITX, run it undervolted and you're laughing

      • +2

Ok true forgot about space constraints

      • +2

Random downvotes to a helpful comment, nice

    • +1

I would say this will be very similar to the ASUS Dual or the MSI Ventus 2X, all of which are basic designs that do ever so slightly better than the founders edition.

Reviews suggest the fan on this is loud-ish at load (35db) but it does run cooler than the FE at load.

Not my first choice of 3070 but given I've got buckley's chance of getting any of the other basic models for this price anytime soon, I pulled the trigger!

    • +3

while many agree with you, can't stop the normies from paying up :C

Deal lasted 2 mins, while this guy kept his honour, the rest of y'all supported greed.

    • +8

$250 more for same exact product, just pathetic mark-up.

I have a name for Scorptec now = Scalptec.

      • +13

        Here's my contribution: Scumtec

    • +2

Yeah, I won't be using them again.

    • +1

Oh well, what can ya do… they do offer some good deals from time to time so that won't stop me from buying from them

  • +1

If anyone sees a special like this for an RTX 3080, even if it's pre-order. I'm willing to wait months lol

  • +1

    All over, red…

    • +1

      Thanks, flagged as expired.

  • +2

is this a pre order or stock?

  • +1

Lost my login info, created a new account proceed to payment. Sold out…

  • No

  • +1

Ordered just in time it seems

  • +3

That was less than 1 hour

    • +4

To be fair, it did say first 100 customers.

  • +4

Just commented on a post earlier that I wasn't going to buy one until prices came down….also just bought this.

    • +2

But the price did come down, so you are technically correct.

  • +1

Bugger missed the deal as I had to create an account

  • is this the new record?

  • +2

Don't check ozbargain for 10 mins and miss a great deal. Haha.

  • +1

shame your ad wasnt clear, missed out had to ask questions

  • +1

    Anyone with a H210 case?
What new gen GPU are you putting in?

    • +1

      Me, and running this currently.

Rip launch day tax, oh well.

It's been a beauty (though it's my first higher end card so I expect it to run rings around anything I've had before)

      • +1

Oh Nice Nice good to hear.

I'm aiming for a 3080 how ever not enough info out yet on how they work inside the h210 in terms of thermals let alone fitting in with a front rad

        • I have a Corsair H100i with stock fans and from memory a few weeks ago, none of the 3080 variants would fit (either too long or thick coolers) and the only 3070's were this Zotac and the FE.

The other options all require more moneh sadly (custom loop, dual rad with an NZXT G10, get a different case)

          • @Hardstuck Silver 2: Well that sucks :(

I have a gtx1070 in there right now, it's 26.6cm, with about a 1cm gap between the front rad, so yeah fair enough if a 3080 won't fit

            Cheers for info

    • Recently built a new PC for a friend in an H210i and managed to fit in a Gigabyte RTX 3070 Eagle OC with a Kraken X53 w/ stock fans in the front.
The trick is to buy a pack of motherboard stand-offs (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Copper-Standoffs-Spacer-supporte…) and screw these to the case where the front fan/radiator bracket would go, and then screw in the front bracket to the stand-offs. This should give you enough room for probably a 285mm length card.
The Eagle OC is L=282 W=115 H=41 mm.

  • Zotac…

  • +2

While I am in the market for a 3070, the Zotac doesn't appeal to me whatsoever. Curious to see how it goes for those who got one. The reviews for this card are not favourable,

    • +1

the trade off for having the smallest 3070 is bad all else.

  • +2

Was watching the site like a hawk today, had to give the kids a bath. Just then this deal gets posted. Oh well at this rate the 1070 will be running for 8 years rather than 4.

    • +1

      Them parents feels

  • +3

Cost as much as PS5 :-)

  • +1

Why ya'll hating on Zotac so much? I got a 2060 AMP and it performs like a beast.

    • +3

Zotac is fine, people are just too used to the asus and gigabyte life. They used to give MSI as much crap, just took MSI to make the frozr series to lose the stigma.

      • +1

That's a good point. Hey who knows …..maybe in 4-5 years, Zotac will be one of the tastier brands in gpu's?

        • +2

Closer to 1-2 years imho. They've alreadycarved out a niche for themselves in the high performance itx space. They've also earned a lot of respect with the amp line, but zotac just needs 1 chart topper to get the recognition.

        • +2

Zotac's been the go-to for the smallest high spec gpus for years now.

    • +1

POSCAPS for a POS card πŸ˜‰

  • +1

i got this card in my mitx case. The non oc version overclocked it to 1900. damn nice card, rtx is amazing

i think ple are the only ones not price gouging

    • +1

They have, except EVGA cards, which are non-obtainable.

  • -1

isnt zotac the ones using the cheap poscaps as opposed to mlcc?

    • +7

If you mean the non-issue that was fixed with a driver release a week after launch? Yes.

      • +1

        Wasnt it 3080 only?

Also the drivers reduced performance ?

        • 3080 only, no performance degradation.

    • +4

anyone claiming POSCAPs are worse than MLCCs is full of shit. The issue is far more complicated than that.

  • -2

Never settle just because you cant get the 3080. Just wait because these impatient consumers will get these cards and leave the proper cards for us patient ones.

    • +3

      see you in 2021 then

      • +3

        2077, you mean.

        • +2

Nah, we wont be seeing him there since he's choosing to miss out. c:

    • +2

Not really, the smart ones will get whatever they can (i.e. 3070), and move on to 3080/TI or 6800 XT when the stocks and price are right.

      • +2

Yep, like what you gonna lose when you resell, 200 bucks? You just saved 200 getting a 3070, then waiting for the 3080s to come down 200 bucks in 6 months.

        You literally lost nothing.

        • +2

And the fact that I am not going mental waiting for EVGA 3080 from PLE, or looking for one elsewhere.

Now I can wait patiently while enjoying 3070, which was a noticeable step up from 2070 Super I was upgrading from.

    • +1

Lol mate those "proper" 3070 you're waiting for cost as much as a 3080 zotac which will smoke whatever oc extreme 3070 you're waiting for.

  • They had a 100 of these? Wow…but f-all 3080's…hmm

    • +3

Selling them 3080s on ebay instead for double the profit.

    • +1

they couldn't even get 10 3080s to sell at a deal if they tried.

And if they could why sell on sale when they can get 50% more for nothing.

  • +3

Idk why people are so impatient. Like I've been waiting ages to build a pc and obviously everything is out of stock so I can't get one.
But I'm not going to pay $300 - 700 extra, like why you are rewarding them for (profanity) you over. Wait a bit and once it stabilizes it will be at the normal price.
Thanks to retards buying it overpriced this year, every launch will be purposly like this so they can jack up the prices for the first couple months. Mark my words, it will become the norm.

    • I feel like the fact people are willing to pay $xxx above an RRP (side note, this deal is significantly below RRP) is less of a reflection of consumers being retards and more product managers failing to optimise margin because clearly they've stuffed up their pricing

      • What is the RRP for this card? Nvidia's RRP for the 3070 is $809?

        • You know what? You might have me, I can't find the RRP for this card. That said, it's not fair to compare against the $809 price given it's a different product/company with a different (<> better) cooler and you can't actually buy an FE card.

Ultimately I stand by my point that supply and demand and published recommend price are two very different things. If I tell you this house is valued $500k but goes for $600k in the auction, it's me as the evaluator that got it wrong because clearly it's not valued at $500k and as a consumer, you were willing to pay $600k because you see $600k value in it (or it could be intentionally undervalued to increase interest when true value is actually higher)

The overarching point was to stop being a d*ck and calling people retards because they value things differently

          • +2

@Hardstuck Silver 2: that makes no sense…based on your rationale then retailers like jb hi fi etc could have charged $1000 + for ps5 instead of RRP,
RRP is there for a reason and should be enforced - anyone defending it has a skewed point of view

Nvidia has learned a long time ago to limit supply, by limiting supply they are obtaining high price for their product…simple
if they just made a proper amount of these cards there would be deals around - and they will be if ppl are a little patient - but NOOO
need my extra 20 rtx fps NOW
like serious…rtx to me doesnt make that much of a difference as yet…

            • @botchie: "Retailers like jb hi fi etc could have charged $1000 + for ps5 instead of RRP"

Assuming there was no PLC backlash or contractual agreements saying otherwise, yes they probably could have and they probably still would have sold. Why do you think scalpers exist?

"if ppl are a little patient - but NOOO
need my extra 20 rtx fps NOW"

People who want that at a lower price will get it at a lower price with patience. I did want my extra 20 RTX FPS now and I valued that over waiting for a lower price. It sounds like you do not value that at the higher price. There is hypocrisy in your post in the sense that you are clearly not patient.

"like serious…rtx to me doesnt make that much of a difference as yet…"

If you believe this, then getting the latest and greatest card shouldn't be an issue and you should then be willing to wait because the value exchange in return isn't worth it for you. Do I get mad at people lining up for $1000 sneakers? No because it doesn't mean anything to me.

Overall the situation is frustrating but this isn't different to normal and insulting people for wanting something at a fair market value is (in my worthless opinion) worse.

              • @Hardstuck Silver 2: I've been building's PC's for over 20 years and never was the price for a gfx card this high, you must be young or something or just not value $$ to buy into this bs and this price
3070 is a mid tier card and should be priced as such at rrp
3090 should be Max $1300 but nvidia saw that they can just hike up prices with 2080ti and masses will buy it
Sorry, it's all blatant price malipulation and I won't buy into it, I got the xbox and will play rtx games on that if I want to, for everything else I have my 1080ti till prices of upgrate is fair
And belive me 1080ti is more then enough for anything not 4k
Half of these ppl are buying beefy PC's and play on 24 inch monitors at 1080, they have no clue

    • +2

$879 for a GPU that performs on par with a 2080Ti and uses less power is a great deal in my books. Sure, would love it to be cheaper but I can't see it happening any time soon.

  • -5

Meanwhile Shopping Express was downvoted to oblivion for similar. Literally why I didn't post. OzBargainers are so temperamental.

    • +5

Their deal was $889 + shipping and they didn't even tell you what model you were getting.

      • -1

Well that makes a bit more sense.

    • Its that time of the month

    • Oh so 3+ people want to say I'm wrong?. You really should fact check before being so temperamental.

  • +1

This card wasn't reviewed very well (non-OC card) though. Just beware.

    https://youtu.be/7eNfhn_wC8w

    • +1

The basis for his poor review was that it wasn't as good as the founders edition, which is a pretty high bar. It's still worth noting the cooler isn't great.

      • I actually watched this review (after my purchase) and can confirm it was mostly along the lines of:
        - More expensive than founders
        - Similar performance in comparison to cheaper founders
        - Weirdly place plugs
        - Average thermals

Considering as well this was right at release, so certainly if we had the option to go get a founders in hindsight it wouldn't be an issue for any of us.

        • It's also possible that this being the OC version, maybe you get a higher binned die than the non-OC.

  • I had second thoughts but I know now that 6800xt at 1070aud was a must….it is just worth it for being able to get out of the waiting for stock game…

  • Anyone else's order sitting at "awaiting stock delivery"? Hopefully they haven't over provisioned these… Or I'm back in the waiting game lol

  • Just got an update, for the item that made no mention of being a pre order will now be in stock on the 23/12
