 - Thanks for your post! I picked that one up.
 Much appreciated, mate.

 - What superior about this product as opposed to say, an $800 mobile phone that can also record 4k video? - This is a completely different beast vs a mobile phone. Plug it into your DLSR or cinema cam for monitoring/recording among other things…. - Do you happen to know if it can record from any HDMI source such as an xbox? - that's right, you need a hdmi source, a hdd and a power supply to use this to record your xbox winnnns

 - This recording monitor adds some pretty crucial benefits to a videography enthusiast:
 * better raw files for higher quality post processing: this recorder can provide video file formats with much more information with which you can do more with your editing. Often a great DSLR cannot provide great raw files but have a HDMI out that can connect to a video recorder such as this, to provide that format.
 * true 1080p, daytime vibrant screen. stills and videography shooters have a much better preview of what is in focus, the very bright screen does a much better job of being visible in more daytime conditions without needing the bulk of a sun shade.- AFAIK this model has never been this cheap. Hope it helps, friend.
