  • Where can you collect these?

    • +1

Headsets are nowhere near me 🤔 Closest collection point is Wagga, 150 ks away. Bloody hard to find stock at any retailer. Amazon, where's your stock at!

My local JB had c&c for the charging station but not the headset. The 5% off on the headset still makes it a few dollars cheaper than RRP if you need to pay for postage though, postage for me is only $4.99.

      • The item would on/off be on JB site. Unable to find in person. Only just now able to get through purchase. 5% almost covers postage. Good enough for me.

As for the headset, i pre ordered mine a few months ago. They are avoiding my questions

  • No click and collect on charging station either

  • headset oos

    • Have you tried delivery? appears to be in stock for that atm.

  • Anybody have an experience with this headset that came from a decent headset prior? (Steelseries, astro, TB, Sens etc)

Hearing a lot of positive reviews but would be interested in if the headset actually enhances the experience due to their new "3D audio" working better with the PS5. Would like to know from somebody that has used Gaming headsets before, I presume it isn't anything revolutionary.

The "3D Audio" will probably work on most headsets. "Gaming headsets" are just marketing.

      • +1

If you already have a good headset don’t invest in this new one. My SteelSeries I had for my PS4 work perfectly with the PS5 and the 3D sound is amazing.

I have the Razer Nari essential that I got for $130 for PS5 on Black Friday and 3D audio option shows up on PS5 and works great! the 3D audio works like its made for the PS5 on Razer Nari so I would highly recommend that but I haven't tried the pulse 3d headset yet

      • Thanks for the feedback! This is mirroring my thoughts also.

    • I received my headset today. 3D Audio is awesome in some games but not so much in others. It was definitely a stand out in Demon's Souls though, I could hear people coming from all directions, very immersive to say the least.

Comparing this to the older Sony PS4 wireless headset it's not a huge leap and the price is a bit steep. Not every game fully utilizes Tempest tech so keep that in mind, though I'm sure devs will add support in future and also in upcoming PS5 games.

Sony mentioned the following games use the 3D Audio tech in different ways

      Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
      Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
      Astro’s Playroom
      Gran Turismo 7
      Returnal
      Destruction AllStars
      Demon’s Souls
      Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
      Sackboy: A Big Adventure
      Horizon Forbidden West
      Resident Evil Village

    • I had Logitech G933 for 3 years and got a pair of Astro A50 Gen 4 when they first released (after my G933 died), got a 3D pulse headset on Friday.

I love it, simple to use, comfortable and the buttons aren't finicky and easy to reach while wearing. The sound was great, played BF5 online and picked up some stuff I haven't noticed before, played Borderlands the Pre Sequel and it was great.. even the loading screen when it launches 2K Australia with the Goana sound it bounced around the headset was really cool.

Selling my Astro's due minimal use and eventually getting the 3d pulse was a great "downgrade".

      • I have AstroGen 3s…. Worth the 'downgrade'?

        • Depends on how much you use them mate, I sold my gaming PC and went from using my Astro's 24/7 to intermittently while playing PS online with mates.

So I decided to sell them for a decent price and wait to get the 3d Pulse. I've used the pulse for 10-15 hours, personally I have noticed a tiny difference in audio quality albeit nothing drastic (had a great audio set up on the Astro app) and although my gaming buddies said they could hear me fine on the pulse (the mic is located on the bottom of the ear cups) I'm sure the Astro's would technically be better with a boom mic.

As a casual gamer just using it to play online and chat it's a great headset and I cannot fault it. It's comfortable, lightweight and most importantly I barely sweat in these compared to my Astro (because the 3d pulse has a silicone band that rests on your head not a conventional band).

For the price point of $159 compared to $399 when I got my Astro I'd hands down get the pulse every day of the week.

The best way to describe the 3d audio is like the first time I went to a cinema back in the day and it had the Dolby ad and the spiders would run around the cinema speakers. It's great

@JoeJoog: Awesome insight, thanks for the information. I think I'll run the Astros to the ground and these might be my next headset when necessary.

    Huh?

The code didn’t apply to the controller when I tested it, but I had no issues with the other accessories.. checked out with the charging station with the code applied!

      • Yeah I tried to. Weird. But they do often stuff up their website discounts.

Got the charging station. Combined it with $10 back from CBA.
